@hasbroherofan You are correct. The new Spider-Man listings are reportedly for the second 2021 wave, not the upcoming Stilt-Man wave. Sorry that I forgot to mention that, I've edited my post to mention that. The Stilt-Man wave figures have different codes, though curiously, only codes for five of the six rumored figures are posted online. I'm sure Mr. Negative and Morlun might get a turn in the near future, as both are long overdue for figures. Chances are that the "Sandstone" listing might be for some kind of Sandman, but Sandstorm might also be a possibility. I'm curious if the classic Lizard and classic Shocker teased would be a part of this second 2021 Spider-Man wave or as part of the retro wave, should it continue.

@Ultra Seven - The Eternals wave news is disappointing, but not surprising. However, since we got the "more Iron Man" news drop by the Marvel Legends team during a Toy Shiz interview on YouTube, I'd say that a new Iron Man wave has to be inbound and some version of the Mandarin will be made into a figure sooner rather than later. Maybe Hasbro Pulsecon will show us some new Iron Man stuff? I'm surprised we got the "more Iron Man" tease, yet it wasn't one of the new waves leaked when the codes for the new Avengers, Shang Chi, Spider-Man and X-Men waves were revealed late last night. Time will tell, though.

if that iron man wave is true , and they don't have an updated extremis armour i wil be dissapointed

hasbroherofan 09-02-2020 03:41 PM

All I'm waiting on is this baby.

Ironheart would be nice too.

Veronica Mars 09-02-2020 03:49 PM

Both of those^

I'm also hoping for a mass retail Dreadknight and maybe Blacklash/Whiplash

I really want Dreadknight to be rereleased too. Coincidentally I will also trade Silk for a Dreadknight if anyone is interested.

My Apocalypse arrived! This was an easy day one pre-order from Dorkside for me, his AoA design isn't my favorite but it's definitely still Apocalypse and I came nowhere close to finishing the BAF. Really my only gripe is that the way he's packaged with the open left hand has warped the hand-guard part of that gauntlet. Everything else though is great. No loose joints, nothing too tight either, and the paint apps are all good. I really like that he has two unique heads but I am fonder of the stoic expression over the megalomaniac yuckin' it up. I was worried about this skull back when it was first shown at Toyfair because there it looked pretty cheap, thankfully the final version is actually pretty nice looking. I also like that in hand his cape is a really (very much so) dark navy blue kind of color and not just flat black, I am also glad that it can be removed and set aside without leaving glaring holes of where it plugs in so the figure can be displayed with a more classic silhouette. Overall it's a good quality figure and with the BAF sized toy plus a decent assortment of extras he definitely earns his deluxe price. As a fun bonus then, just because I thought it looked good with the laughing head, I gave him the Infinity Gauntlet like I saw some people do with the BAF.

I don't see Apocalypse wearing the Infinity Gauntlet in the comics, that's mostly a weapon of Thanos.

Veronica Mars 09-02-2020 07:30 PM

Well yeah it never happens in the comics but it works on the toy as a fun thing that can be done. Even in the comics Thanos doesn't use it very much at all, I think Adam Warlock/Magus has a longer track record of using it.

hasbroherofan 09-02-2020 09:11 PM

Dreadknight had a flying horse, right? I always wondered if Hasbro would make one for Ultimate Riders; it'd make most sense for Valkyrie but could be used by others like Black Knight too.

Black Knight and Dani Moonstar, though Dreadknight and later Dani's horses were Black with bat-like wings, as I remember right Dani's horse Brightwind was changed during the inferno and became Darkwind

Dreadknight had a flying horse, yeah:

A pegasus sculpt could be (off the top of my head) used with Black Knight (90s jacket), Valkyrie (armored), Dani Moonstar (Valkyrie), and Dreadknight (modded with different wings). The issue then being whether demand justifies the tooling. I wonder if they’d have to offer that at a higher price point than the other riders stuff, because it’s more plastic. I’ve also thought about this as an avenue to release Lockjaw (with Crystal) and a proper Zabu (with Ka-Zar).

Dani and Black Knight both got their horses from Valkyrie, it's like Asgardian Oprah "you get a flying horse and you get a flying horse...'"

Thor Laserpunch 09-03-2020 03:26 AM

They could use that pegasus body cross-series and do a collector scale MLP line.

Too far?

Oh wow, that's great but random. I did notice Dorkside had the Stepford Cukoos up for preorder as well. I'm wondering if Walgreens' exclusives are now just going to be a limited time based exclusive, like after a year or something they go up for general sale, at least online? That would be an improvement, even if it means waiting, at least there's a better chance of getting it.

I'm not sure if you know, but they meant that the Movie Mystique is in stock.
I am wondering the same thing about the Walgreen's stuff though. Why are the Cuckoos suddenly available again? It's weird that they rereleased an exclusive with no explanation.

oh geez. thank you. I'm an idiot sometimes :p

Benn Roe 09-03-2020 07:53 AM

Nah, it happens pretty often, though more often with Star Wars than Marvel. Whenever Hasbro ends up with surplus stock on an exclusive that the retailer no longer wants, they offer it to EE, who are also a wholesaler, so it gets spread far and wide. This is how my store came to have 80th classic Caps in stock, and why we have preorders up for the Cuckoos and for the Best Buy black series exclusives. Why Walmart turned away Caps or Walgreens turned down more Cuckoos is anyone's guess... they're obviously not super in touch.

It's called having fun with your figures.

Especially when it's so far for them to stock in the first place. Maybe that should be a sign to Hasbro. Of course, they follow the money, if a retailer pays the money to get an exclusive they aren't even going to stock, that's fine with the bigwigs at Hasbro I'm sure so long as the money is there. I'm sure the actual Legends team feels very different but what can they say and do?
