Hey guys i'm looking for some of the new ML , I'm based in Ireland and looking for loose figures like don't need the BAF pieces

donmeca2020 03-29-2015 02:16 PM

Update : i said the hell with it... i ordered a case of 6 from BBTS. the Hobgoblin wave. i will consider selling the figures i don't want once they come.

Starscreamer 03-29-2015 03:47 PM

dude, every figure in the Hobgoblin wave are pretty much hitting the nail on the head...I think just Spider Girl was the weak one for me. I think Anti-Venom was the one I didn't want, but once in hand, damn he is badass

Anti Venom looks a little blah compared to the marvel select version i have. only reason i decided to order a set is because these things are no where to be found around my area. i really only wanted spidey, spidey 2099, and Mayday. the others i wasn't really digging.

Of course he does. Marvel Select is aimed straight for collectors, Legends still has the Hasbro play factor. This is why Hasbro's offerings aren't as impressive visually but hand Select their ass when it comes to pose. I actually prefer Legends Anti-Venom, the Select one is too monstrous for him (it's based too exclusively on his debut and doesn't match his later appearances). The select one doesn't reflect the character's want to do good and be something of a hero, albeit a somewhat preachy hero.

Good idea. The Martian scalpers are notorious for hijacking caseloads of those figures before they arrive here on Planet Earth.

wolverine2281 03-29-2015 06:56 PM

I'll have some set of Spidey and Thanos coming in soon if anyone still needs them. $140 Shipped for Thanos and $145 for Spidey. Also have a loose set of Odin Legends for $135 shipped that no one wants.

they also don't them single, i just checked.... searching for this wave as well as the walgreens marvel funko pops are getting to the point with me now that i just have no more patience. week after week of searching and never any luck. im just gonna end up probably buying online rather then wasting time and gas from going to store to store.

Dorkside sells almost of of their Legends separately, but they do sell out quite fast once the figures hit the market. If you are able to catch them when they are in the pre-order stage, you should have no problem. I preordered several figures from the Spidey wave as singles before they came out with no problem., as obtaining Hobgoblin was never a goal for me.

That made me think of Rick and Morty: Something Ricked This Way Comes...great 'toon.

i still like select, but their offerings for characters are usually too limited.... the fact that legends had this wave come out really enticed me. i was saying to myself prior to this wave being released or even any info on it from last year, that i was in need of a nice spider-man 2099, and i still needed a good spidey for my shelf. low and behold these came out !!!.

im really looking forward for that Scarlet spider whenever they decide to release that.

That's the one character that you can never have too many of... I'll just hold on to them and do a lot of smashing... It could also be used as a trade down the line, everyone is looking for Hulk all the time.

donmeca2020 03-29-2015 08:24 PM

Just reading on a crap forum i used to go on, people are complaining about paint issues with the hobgoblin wave? are they really that bad paint wise?

The new Spidey, 2099, and Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider are what convinced me to switch to Marvel Legends completely, rather than just buying my favorite Avengers. Sold nearly all of my MU figures a few days ago.

I'm hoping they'll do an improved Iron Spider-Man when the Civil War movie draws near.

I sided with Jerry (on a sentimental level) also...he was impassioned and resolute, which wins points in my book...that 'toon (in general) cracks me up!

Are we sure this Daredevil thing is an actual assortment and not just one TV-style Daredevil figure packed in with some other (mass retail, probably Spider-Man 2015 Wave 2) Marvel Legends ala Agent Venom?

That's what I'm gonna put my money on for now. It'd be awesome if it were a full DD assortment, though. I do agree they should probably re-release that modern Luke Cage somewhere, and a BAF Kingpin would be awesome. Updated Bullseye couldn't hurt, and we know they've toyed (no pun intended) with Lady Bullseye for a while now (maybe a swap/shared package with Typhoid Mary)?

Exodus 03-30-2015 10:22 AM

I wish the TRU X-Men box set would go on a clearance price...

Lady Bullseye would be awesome, She was made into a prototype for one of those fans choice polls several years ago so I guess they likely still have the mold around somewhere.

Ugh that reminds me of that poll now, it also had Aurora and Northstar which I would absolutely love to see.

Ugh. never mind. Aurora Northstar were the poll previous to that with Sunfire winning. However the poll with Lzdy Bullseye did also include Madrox which is a sorely needed Legends figure.

Making any of those old fans choice prototype characters they showed way back would be a complete waste if they aren't on the newer style Legends bodies. Those old molds have all been replaced by better bodies.

Yes and no. My 2099 has very clean paint apps in the sense they're lined up properly and there's no red bleeding everywhere. However, it looks like they used one maybe two thin coats of red so there are spots where the blue plastic shows through, and there are spots chipped away on his abdomen's paint. They were there when I got him.

My Daredevil has just about perfect paint work from what I've seen. Very clean, and the different red tones stand out well enough.

The Mayday I saw had flawless paint work from what I could tell. I regret not buying her right away because I know the one I'm ordering online will not be as good.

Both Pizza Spideys had bad paint chipping on his abdomen (I'm thinking its something to do with them testing the ab crunches) and one had a slightly crooked eye.

I only glanced at Anti-Venom, but the white on his body was like fresh paper and the black lines were clean and coated well. The yellow and orange for his eyes and mouth were fairly clean as well.

Ultimate Spider-Woman had excellent paint apps on her head, but her chest emblem was poorly painted. The white paint is sort of pearlescent, and the one that I saw was done with a very thin coat of paint so it looked really shitty.

Its hit or miss. Same as any other Legends wave.

T16skyhopp 03-30-2015 06:34 PM

So Steve Anne, the toy buyer for Walgreens (and reason we got the cool Agent Venom exclusive there) asked on twitter: https://twitter.com/stevenganne/stat...14538933555200

"What character does everyone want to see next in Marvel Legends?"

If you have twitter, tell him what you want! I'm not gonna tell you who to request but if you don't say Rogue just know that you're killing me inside :D

Anti-Venom does have a really nice, clean white, but some of the black on mine has little splotches of white on it. The Head is really nice except for part of the black towards the top goes completely out of the sculpted "stencil", but that is super minor.
