I absolutely agree this way to do exclusives not perfect, but way better than how it was done in the past. Most (or all) of those who had the premium pulse membership snagged an in stock item that will likely ship within a few days or a week.

Most (or all of those) who didn't have the premium membership can still order it for a few days, and get it when the production order is filled in roughly 6 months from now. Some may have snagged some if there was indeed leftovers from yesterday, really hard to tell exactly when they ran out, but that's just it, there was never a guarantee.

So much better than trying to get it, missing it and never having a chance to get it again except on ebay or something. Maybe this was done because of the way the cons were this year, maybe this was something they planned all along - who knows. I hope they do it from here on out. What I do know is that the boards were on fire for this set, so ultimately, everyone who wants one that orders one in the next few days will get one, it's just a matter of when.

(I still regret nothing from ordering it last month lol)

As far as leaks, I don't expect any beyond the few rumors we already know. Given the setup, that it's not a physical con, it's much easier to keep under wraps.

Yeah, I think that is awesome of Hasbro. Its the first con exclusive I will own due to how things played out this year. Its kind of nice to get to participate in so many things this year that I otherwise would not be able to.

About leaks: I'm surprised things have not already leaked with as many detailed leaks as we have had lately. Its so close to the panel now I may avoid as many as I can now and enjoy the anticipation. I will continue to have fun trying to answer the four clues they gave us. At this point I have a couple pages worth of mine and others guesses. Im quite excited to find out about who the clues are for.

Which is hilarious, given how many leaks we've been getting for Transformers lately.

You know there's more than meets the eye with those, though.

Boy Blunder 09-24-2020 03:59 PM

....that bad joke had better not have cost us a Legends Firestar. :D

Right? ;)

Nah I think we're good this time. I think everything's fallen into place, finally. She's going to be the big reveal of the Marvel Legends section - probably until the very end up, or they may even tease it's over but oh wait, they've got one more thing to show us!

That would be horrendous. A good 2020 last con reveal.

Maybe her head sash will be removable and the head can be used for custom Moondragons

hasbroherofan 09-24-2020 05:45 PM

Opening pre-orders was surprising but makes sense. They have figures made for several movies that just got delayed they already spent time and money on producing and now will likely have to sit on, so they can probably really use the cash influx from additional SDCC set sales right now.

It'll be a bald version of the Thundra head.

I didn't even consider that, but yeah especially with all the movies pushed back to mid '21 and later.

Since they're doing Fox X-Men and DP figures, that also opens up New Mutants movie figures too no?

I find it kind of funny that by the time the Black Widow movie does come out some of us will have had figures from it for over a year. I imagine they'll redistribute that wave, and hopefully the store exclusives too, when the movie is coming out though.

Yeah, go figure. I've no problem with the sculpt and the paint job is great. However, in my opinion, it tracks small to the eye in both height and girth. Frank's a big dude and in heavy battle armor he should be even larger. I would actually prefer Endgame War Machine receiving a Punisher paint job for a more satisfying effect. Again, the fig is great, just like the Extremis Armor and other puny but cool sculpts...(cough)...Beta Ray... While I don't really need a redone Frank War Machine, I do want a proper Bill and Extremis. If Hasbro delivers them again, they'll make twice the money on me and many others...Win, win.

WARNING...WARNING...WARNING... (Read in Nostrormo's Mother voice).

I don't tend to complaint a lot about little plastic figurines, but I've noticed a trend to get bad colour applications, stiff joints, loose joints, miss-aligned accessories etc, etc.

I got two Storm/ Thunderbird sets (one more on the way, FOR myself); a Rogue/Pyro set and. Deadpool/Negasonic set. This are the list of QC problemos.

Thunderbird: Stupid boot fringes slipping down would it kill them to glue them? (Maybe)

Storm 1: supper wobbly head, totally stiff leg swivels, lightning on fingers not painted (which looks like ringworm), leg seam with black paint. Scuff on right breast (both Storms have this, swimsuit ring not painted at all, right leg falling off.
Storm 2: no wobbly head, but both heads have miss-aligned tiaras, brown paint splash on boot, black paint splash on skin.
I do love the sculpt except I feel Storm should be a little more endowed, I fixed some issues, but why should I? These are not arts and crafts figures, nor cheap.
Solution, frankestein the three Storms into one good one. Sigh.

Rogue is mostly fine. Some White splodges on the green and a "skin" tag on elbow (yuk), and a horrible neck. Lipstick on teeth on alt head.
Pyro: dot on nose. I guess I'm using the other head. No choice.

Deadpool: splodges everywhere. Maybe it can be weathering?

Negasonic: good apps, great face but, but, hair is too far back, making her look like Ant Mcpalin (google it).
So, they are going all back in the box to be fixed at a later date after I move house and get my ducks in a row.

Side note: my Duke had the print of the middle of his lips above his top lip. I exchanged that one, as I can't fix that tiny "got chocolate milk?" detail...

I still love the figures, but it seems that invariably, when I get an order delivered, I have to boil the kettle, get my pliers/glue/varnish removal/acrylic paints.
I guess Hasbro wants us all to get arty.

Yeah, Ariel. I've noticed it also, especially so with these box-sets. I mentioned some QC concerns with the Family Matters 3pack, specifically with Scarlet Witch's headdress. Sometimes, less is more. Perish the thought, and I've expressed as much previously, but maybe there's just too much being rushed to market...I'm more of a quality guy than I am quantity.

<waits for the “that’s what she said”>

That's a Regular sized figure standing inbetween 2 Large Figures.?????

Veronica Mars 09-24-2020 07:17 PM

It's a Fortnite figure I don't remember his name but it's a popular stand in for Firefly

Havoc. But yeah it's totally Firefly. I think the 3.75 version of him was a direct repack if I'm not wrong. I don't play Fortnite but I'm collecting some of the Jazzware onas for random mutant students, so I'm a little familiar with the names if nothing else.

Dr Kain 09-24-2020 09:13 PM

Well shit. Popfindr says one of my local Targets has 1 Storm/Thunderbird pack instock, but they're closed now, so I have to wait until morning to call them.

StuartGreen2019 09-24-2020 09:43 PM

As it's not much longer until we see the Marvel Legends reveals, I'm pleasantly surprised that none of Hasbro's planned figures leaked early in terms of photos. I'm glad that none of the surprises have been ruined early and glad no photos were leaked. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we get some more retro Spider-Man reveals as Fan Channel releases or a second wave of figures. Retro carded characters like Chameleon, Doctor Octopus and Shocker would be great additions. I'm at least hopeful we'll see official photos of the leaked J. Jonah Jameson, Black Cat and Firestar figure listings. However, if we don't get a second wave of Age of Apocalypse and get figures for fan favorites like Rogue, Magneto, Cyclops, Gambit, Storm, Nightcrawler and Sabretooth, I'll be very surprised. Also, I hope we get more FoX-Men figures. I'd be disappointed if Hasbro would do what Fox basically did with the film series and turn their attention only to Xavier, Magneto, Logan and Mystique.

Don't.

They'll just send it back to Hasbro.

I believe his name is havoc. Im still hoping they release brite bomber and raptor.

TheBlueMarvel 09-25-2020 05:00 AM

lol Uhhh, you guys know the original poster inquired about the fig using the name of the character from the very onset, right? ;)

Now I know people generally ignore what I write because it uniformly exceeds the 280 character limit for internet tolerance, but the initial post was succinct and in keeping with thread desires/rules....I'm surprised y'all missed it. I thought brevity was the key...
