Foxx has had a few good flicks, but ASM2 was not one of them. Lol

Hopefully it’s a red herring, and he’ll be someone else. Never cared about Electro as a villain. Lightning powers have been used and abused. Palpatine, Gozer, Big Trouble in Little China, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Thor, Storm, etc.

Give us Kraven & Chameleon. Hobgoblin. Jackal. Hell, kill off the mcu by adapting the worst of Spider-man’s enemies... Morlun! Just make an interesting villain. So far, the Spidey villains in the MCU have had less personality than a sea slug.

Hulkwummy 10-01-2020 07:07 PM

I prefer Scorpion or Tom Hardy's Venom, if Sony will allow it, Tom Holland said in his own worlds that he wanted his Spider-Man to go up against Venom.

redfox 10-01-2020 07:21 PM

Found the new Venom wave at Walmart. No real interest in symbiotes, but I actually don't have a Carnage figure in my collection and he might look good with the Deluxe Venom. Also, picked-up another Vintage Gwen just because she's Gwen-Freaking-Stacy and I'm still in total awe that she finally has a Marvel Legends figure!!

EDIT: Man, having to acknowledge that movie's existence distracted me from why I even was here: LOOT!

To be fair i was pretty hammered when i “ watched “ stealth. I just remember that part as it was my favorite part....kinda like watching channing tatum get blown into duke bits was the best part of gi joe 2.

Ha!

Your right - better late than never.

Eternals was going to release (just over a month from now). It takes as much as 2 years to make toys. Posts here from 2 years ago? Little to nothing, on Celestials, Eternals, etc. You got an extra 1 year - to voice your posts - on the Eternals / Celestials. They may make it for next year's big movie, or Blu-ray in 2 years. Freedom of voice, is yours my friend.

A chorus of voice actors did do another (very recent) round of new talks to do X-Men Animated. As said earlier, it can take almost 2 years to do toys. X-Men TAS 30th Anniversary is - wait for it - in just 2 years. Its another way for many collectors like you who missed out, to further voice that want for a very high demand item. Here's just 1 voice from Reddit wanting Retro Mastermold in an awesome Animated Style...

HasLab Celestial + HasLab Galactus = twice as awesome!!
A big bust worked great for Galactus. A bigger bust will work greater for Celestials!

I only watched each GI Joe movie once but I remember the second being better than the first in a broad sense.

On topic, I wonder what the odds are that we'll get a new Annihilus soon (or ever). He could go in the villains wave or maybe the (likely) retro F4 wave. I don't want him as much as classic Ultron or High Evolutionary but I still want the buggy bastard.

The second GI Joe movie is definitely better than the first, I have hope for the new one and Henry Golding and Samara Weaving

Does anyone have both Endgame Rescue and the MJ head from the Retro Gwen figure? I'm wondering if the head would fit, and if so, how it would look.

I mean, I know we have some figures that need to be redone, and we all have our personal wishlists of characters that we'd like to see, but I honestly feel like Firestar was the last one to tick off. Don't really know (or honestly really care) what the community consensus on them is, but a quick list of notable characters I can think of who have never been made in any iteration under Marvel Legends (so characters who had MCU versions or unpopular costume choices are still excluded; I'm excluding the Eternals since they're getting a wave next year) are:

Is it though? Is it really?

I mean, I didn't feel as pissed off at the second one as I did with the first, but that doesn't make it better. It was more like I was immunized from it by that point.

MeLikeJinx 10-01-2020 10:26 PM

I think I may be one of the few people that liked Rise of Cobra more than Retaliation... mostly because of Rachel Nichols Scarlett and Sienna Miller Baroness though.

Oh man... Sunday morning is gonna be a madhouse at my Targets I think. Judging from popfindr results all my Targets are holding everything to the 10-4 street date. And we don't have any BAMs here and all our Walmarts are basically toy dead... and for some reason our Gamestops are not currently getting too much Marvel product in anymore. Target is pretty much the only hot spot for Legends stuff right now.

...I took the liberty of highlighting my faves.

Film is subjective, so I respect your opinion. With that being said, Jamie Foxx has been one of my favorite actors/singer/comedian dating all the way back to In Living Color, and Roc. His absolute best performances have been Ray (Academy Award for Best Actor), Ali, Redemption, Django, Dreamgirls, Any Given Sunday, and Just Mercy. He’s one of the most talented, well versed individuals we’ve seen in Hollywood of the past 30 years. I’m excited to see him get a second chance at this role, and see a better version of his Marvel Legends figure that looks more accurate.

Thor Laserpunch 10-02-2020 04:52 AM

Jamie Foxx got too big for his britches cuzza Ray. He then proceeded to turn into a tart and foist himself upon us ad nauseum. Being in a Tarantino flick is the next logical step after you hook up with Kanye, like from one overrated egomaniacal turd to the white version of that guy in your quest for true douchiness.

But I digress.

Kang shipping updated to 10/20 on amazon and Falcon (although I sincerely hope alternate versions of Falcon are in the pipes cuz this costume blecch) updated to 10/18 on same.

Gray Fixit repaint is inevitable, no? Not really interested in this green color scheme. Doesn’t connect to anything meaningful for me.

Classic Rogue looks kinda like when you go to your parents’ house and their TV has the wrong aspect ratio because they somehow can’t tell everyone’s head looks squashed. Like, that doesn’t bother you?

And lastly, just sayin that MAYBE it’s a good thing that octogenarians are way more likely to die from covid knamean.

Thor Laserpunch 10-02-2020 04:58 AM

Actually it was all the smoke the critics blew up his ass with Ray when it got outta control with Jamie, but before that iirc it was Collateral where he co-starred with Tom Cruise that he started getting serious props as an actor. Ergo, it was just a scientology plot all along.

sh002 10-02-2020 05:51 AM

If there’s going to be a live action Spider-Verse then I’d love to see Tobey return.

As for figure releases, I’d buy updated Raimi Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus figures.

Oh I can't stand Farce of Cobra. When the end credits started to roll I sat there asking my wife when the GI Joe moving was going to start. I was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiised. There was nothing GI Joe about it at all. I hated everything about it because they got everything wrong and every actor was miscast. Baroness is not supposed to be in love with Duke and Miller was completely wrong for the role. Scarlett was more lifeless than dead Covergirl. They killed freaking Covergirl. Just looking like Snake-Eyes does not make that Snake-Eyes. Storm Shadow was wrong. Eccleston half-assed his role and I have no idea who the fuck Levitt was playing, but it sure as hell wasn't Cobra Commander. It was more like they decided to make the unwanted love child of Dr Mindbender and Dr Venom be named Cobra Commander or something. It was an insult to the name of GI Joe. Hell, Hasbro should have been embarassed by it as it made even the Bayformers movies look accurate to the source material.

Collateral is such a great movie. In fact, that is the first movie I ever saw with Foxx in it and I thought he was fantastic. The dude is a great actor as he proved in that and Django Unchained, so I'm not sure why he gets stuck in such lackluster roles.

I really feel like people who love Tobey are doing so under nostalgia and not because he was a great Spider-Man. Don't get me wrong, he was a good Peter Parker (well, except when it came to showing the brilliant scientist side of Peter), but his Spider-Man was lackluster. Each movie had him quip less than the last one and the organic web shooters became more harmful than helpful. I mean they had to make up the excuse that his genes were repressing his powers in order for him to be unable to use his web shooters since he couldn't just run out of them. That was kind of annoying.

Anyway, I was really hoping Hasbro would have at least teased the next Spider-Man vintage card stuff that has supposedly been leaked last week. Sad they did not. Now I'm wondering if that rumor was even true to begin with or if that was someone's wishlist that someone else thought was a leak.

sh002 10-02-2020 07:39 AM

In my head canon both Peter Parkers/Spider-Men in Into the Spider-Verse are versions of Tobey’s.

Captain Nash 10-02-2020 08:03 AM

Can we just pretend the GIJoe movies never happened? A good friend of mine and I were both Transformers (more him) and joe (more me) fans as kids. The transformers movies were a major let down for him and the first GIJOE came closer to ruining my childhood than any other movie ever has. As dramatic as that sounds.

I was hugely disappointed in the Transformers movies. They were a major let down and they are just bad movies that don't make any sense.

The GI Joe movies weren't even in the same league as the TF movies. They are a let down in terms of GI Joe, but if you just look at them as just a movie and not tied to a franchise, they are pretty enjoyable.
