Those who have multiple stores have an advantage but I know you have more collectors in your area than I do.

Stores here have t got them in yet. I so want that deadpool set. Im hoping they will do a francis and angel dust two pack and release bob too. Or a two pack of bob and peter. :)

Robb 10-04-2020 05:56 AM

I was surprised when my target said they had them and could be pick up with in 4 hrs. Still no Frank on bike though.

redfox 10-04-2020 07:17 AM

Had to hit up two Targets this morning, but I finally got my Storm 2-pack!!! :D:D:D

Captain Nash 10-04-2020 07:17 AM

I hope that everyone who wants a Storm/Thunderbird set today gets ones! Good luck and good hunting. I thought about going by the nearest target just to see (Popfinder says they have 4 down from 6 earlier) but I figured since I have a set already, it's going to be nicer of me to leave it for someone else. You better bet if I didn't already have a set I would have been up there at sunup.

What is the best way to contact Hasbro Pulse? I tried calling but sat in a que for 30 minutes each time before hanging up. I sent multiple emails to their customer service with absolutely no response.

I've never had either of those happen, I usually call and there customer service people are always very helpful

Starlord67 10-04-2020 08:07 AM

Scored all the Storm/Thunderbird packs I needed as well as some bad@$$ Artist Series FUNKO Pops that were not on my radar. If you need the two pack hit me up. I have 5 just sitting here from 3 different targets. Met some really nice folks standing in line this morning.

I've never called, but it always takes them at least a full week to respond to any of my messages. I actually sent them a message about something on 9/6 and I still have not had a reply.

Nice! I hit up three Targets as well, but came up empty-handed. First one had supposedly had them in stock, but they couldn’t find them. Arrived to the second Target about a minute too late. Another collector grabbed the last one right before me. But I was able to have a cool conversation with him. So at least there’s that. He was complaining about the POPs. Apparently Target bungled the release. No sign of them at the third Target I went to even though Popfindr showed them in stock.

Target? Bungle a release? Surely you jest. Target is known for easy preorders and adhering to street dates.

I wish Hasbro would stop offering store exclusives and just sell them through Pulse. It doesn't make sense. I assume Target pays $5 wholesale for an action figure that sells for $20. If Hasbro is selling them directly, at full retail price, they make a lot more money and don't have to sell as many figures. They could even do a preorder, made-to-order like Super7 and then they would know exactly how many figures to produce. Eventually someone with a business degree will figure this out and connect the dots for Hasbro corporate.

I think I was calling when the whole SW Bane fiasco went down, so I’m sure they were overwhelmed with calls from angry Star Wars nerds. I’m more concerned about the unanswered emails.

I had an unaccounted charge on my account that doesn’t show on my Pulse profile, and I need to figure when all my purchases are shipping before I change my address. At this point I just need to change the address, but I can’t get a response. I tried calling Saturday, but the automated greeting said they were closed when I was calling in their Customer Service hours of operation on Saturdays. I’ve spent a shit ton of money on that site over the last year, so a week to respond to an email is frustrating as hell. They have some kinks they need to iron out on the customer service availability side. I’m sure they’re beyond helpful if I could ever speak with someone. I’ll try again Monday whenever I see a free moment from work.

Maybe PulseCon threw them way off with all these orders, and new customers hammering them for shipping dates. I never had a reason to call before now, so I wouldn’t know.

The chat box in the bottom right-hand side. It says HELP and go through the steps needed to talk to someone right then and there. Well, I'm not sure if they have anyone there on Sunday, but that is what I had to do to get them to refund my money on the Putties that FedEx decided to ship back.

So glad I got my Storm pack last week from them. I was curious and last night popfindr said all of my stores had 4/5 instock. This morning at 8:10 half of them had 0. The scalpers were on fire today.

TheBlueMarvel 10-04-2020 10:20 AM

My experience with HasbroPulse's customer service last week was a very good one. That said, I won't email if I can just call. After years of dealing with various outsourced customer service departments across a variety of products and services, I've learned to call during working hours of the week if I want to speak to someone 'in-house' and avoid an outside contractor.

Believe it, or not...this photo makes me feel better about my planned purchase of the wave and is far more flattering than the in-package shot.

The physical appearance of Deviants varies wildly, and while that looks nothing like Kro, it does have some hints of what I've seen from other Deviant depictions.

Deviants, Skrulls, and Dire-Wraiths are all loosely related within the Marvel universe as they all are known for shapeshifting and even share certain ancestral/lineal ties (IIRC Space Phantoms are thralls of Immortus/Kang with no relation to the other shapeshifters).

I forget the specifics, and don't really feel like looking it up right now, but while Skrulls and Dire-Wraiths have a uniformity in their respective appearances, no two Deviants look alike, a fact that they embrace culturally. Interesting shit if one can be bothered to investigate...

The whole reason im constantly bothered by as you say is because if a change occurs in the movies then marvel tends to do the same in the comics. And yes i personally feel that the way a character is sone in the comics they should be portrayed that way in the comics. As i have said time and again its just a means for the untalented to pass of characters they changed in a sad attempt to be diverse etc. The characters as they are have earned their fandom and to alter them just to fit a political/social agenda does a disservice to the character, the fandom and the creator(s).

Yes i feel that making a new character for the movies would honestly be a better move then slapping a familiar name and costume on someone. Look at michelle from sonys spider movies. She is clearly NOT mary jane watson but she has been well received so that is evidence that a new, original character created just for a movie can work.

Yes fans or others decry when a new character is introduced but your examples of kahn and chavez have earned their fandom along with others who were introduced with them. And oh i recall how many people here when batshit when the recent new warriors comic was introduced and how many people here hated it because it was the OLD characters of the team but an entire NEW team of heroes. Sure they weren’t the warriors I or others grew up with but a new team for the current generation of potential young readers.

And lastly dont presume to know whats in my head. I do not hate any one being or beings because of their race gender etc. People love to throw words like misogyny, bigotry etc. shame people into falling in line with their views. You, and others, perceive what you think is something along those lines and use it to jump on a person. Those feelings you your perceive that only come from bigotry do not. They come from a desire to see true expansion and inclusion by not taking away from what it is but by adding new to the roster to truly add inclusion and iverse characters. Change just for the sake ( perceived sake ) change is wrong.

And fyi my favorite reads of iron man were when jim rhodes was iron man. That is a great example of how change, done organically, can and does work.

I have mostly stopped reading comics at this point in large part due to this topic.
The politics of the writers started infesting every fiber of them and it has only gotten worse.

The pseudo intellectualism and zealotry behind comics now is a huge turn off.

When you start reducing everything to a name, that’s not diversity. That’s pandering.

The politics of the writers have ALWAYS been in the comics. Same with books, movies, tv, etc... It is something that is nearly impossible to separate.
The real problem that you have is that the politics have changed to something you don't personally agree with.

Yes, politics have always been apart of media, but I think the problem he, and many others, have these days is that it feels like the social commentary is thrown into your face to the point where the story feels tacked on. Back then, the commentary progressed within the confines of the story itself so it didn't feel in your face. Like one issue of Spider-man had Robbie's son trying to get Peter to protest the Vietnam War and Kingpin used the protests to steal the tablet of time. These days, 70% of the issue would be just seeing the protests with maybe a single strand of a story involved.

Hell, just look at Doctor Who's The Green Death from 1973 and compare it to an episode from the recent season. Or The Twilight Zone. The original series had a lot of message hidden within the confines of the story. The current series is all about the commentary with a story haphazardly tacked on.

Truer words...there are so very many direct references over the years that I could highlight that would illustrate exactly what you've just expressed in an incredibly stark and blatant manner.

I remember when people were surprised and disappointed by some things Frank Miller said following the recession of '08. The comments betrayed a mindset stuck in time-displaced grievances, featuring a strange narrative one might expect from Travis Bickle's (Taxi Driver) contorted and broken mind. I chuckled at the general consternation of some fans, thinking to myself, "have none of you read Miller's work?" He didn't surprise me at all...

He tried to walk things back after comic culture began to explore the prevalence of these underpinnings and beliefs in his work (which only made me laugh harder). Amazing how quickly the loss of sizable revenue streams can make someone reconsider dogmatic beliefs.

Despite my thinking he's a complete idiot, I still enjoy his early work. "Warts and all." ;)

Dr Kain 10-04-2020 12:18 PM

I'm reading Miller's DareDevil run for the first time and the stories have been absolutely fantastic so far.

None of this invalidates my point, which is that the politics have changed. Some of those political changes are how much politics are talked about and how much people care about it. Talking about politics used to be considered "impolite" or "improper" (which is an entirely different argument), but now talking about politics is considered necessary. Nothing gets fixed or changes if we don't talk about it.

Most capitalist media is targeting a younger audience, so whatever the politics are, the older generation won't always agree with it. Remember all those comics, movies, and music that were "destroying our youth" back in the 90's? Those same "destroyed youths" are the ones bitching about the kids now.

Now get off my lawn and use your damn turn signal! :D

TheBlueMarvel 10-04-2020 12:26 PM

There's nothing wrong with liking Miller's work. The point being made is that creative talents have ALWAYS inserted 'messaging' into storytelling. Nothing has changed other than the pendulum swing of a fickle society...

Uh... what? I never said it invalidated your opinion at all. I was just explaining why people do complain about it more these days because disagreeing with it isn't the basis for complaining about it.

Did you read my posts entirely? My central argument is that DISAGREEING WITH IT IS THEIR ENTIRE BASIS FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT IT.

How the politics are expressed is part of the politics. If you don't like it, it is because you disagree with the politics.

We'll use this as a quick example. These days, many people would view the conflict of using protests to cover a crime by a person in a position of power as an essential part of the story. Of course "70% of the issue would be just seeing the protests" and making the story about how they affect the lives of the characters. What you view as "ruining" the story is the exact same thing that someone else views as the main story.

Different times and different politics.
