Just gonna leave this here...
https://www.freewebs.com/movie-fan/plan%20to%20text.jpg Thank you @redfox for getting things back on topic. I am curious if tomorrow will be a Marvel Legends Monday and, if so, what they intend to reveal. We've got so many things left unconfirmed and leaked that Hasbro needs to address, such as the "TV 1" and "TV 2" Spider-Man figures, the J. Jonah Jameson and Black Cat figures, the Legendary Riders Hawkeye, the Walgreens exclusive U.S. Agent, and any other Retro X-Men figures like the Target Exclusive figures for Rogue and Gambit. |
My sweet husband stayed up past midnight to score us a Storm/Thinderbird 2 pack from Target.com! I really appreciate him doing so because when I got up early to try they were sold out AND their website (along with popfindr) said there were none offered at any of the stores in my area. I find it quite frustrating that Targets in my area keep skipping on exclusives. Kinda glad I'm not super into the new retro Gambit or Rogue because I'd be concerned I'd just never see them at store price.
Now I just need Dorkside to ship my preordered Rogue/Pyro pack. I also need to find some new shelving. 2020 has really filled out my currently available space. |
@Mimicboy - Congratulations on the Storm/Thunderbird two-pack! Even before COVID, Target has been really frustrating in my areas and most of the toys in stock were from a year or two ago that still peg-warmed. So far, all I've gotten from 2020 were the Retro Spider-Man figures for Electro, the Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man. I doubt I'll be able to get the Target Exclusive Retro X-Men figures, though after seeing Rogue's awful face sculpt, I may pass on her.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll see more Retro Spider-Man and Retro X-Men figures in 2021. I'd love to add a Doc Ock with bendable wire tentacles, new classic versions of Sandman and/or Rhino that are Deluxe figures instead of Build-A-Figures, a classic Shocker, a Jim Lee Cyclops with an optic blast, a Jim Lee Jubilee with fireworks blasts, and a smiling blue furry Beast to my collection. Your move, Hasbro. |

This type of “all or nothing” mentality has led to all nuance being lost, Which is why you have stupid shit like “you're just a (insert name) being thrown so casually. |

@Ultra Seven - I missed Black Cat too and I'm also hoping that the next Black Cat figure is of her classic costume. I have a feeling Tigra has to be coming in the next year or so, given how much fan demand there is for her. I do hope U.S. Agent isn't a Walgreens Exclusive and that any future Retro X-Men figures of possible Jim Lee re-releases aren't Target Exclusives. Store exclusives are always a huge pain to find.

Whew hoo..my Hellfire set was just delivered!! What an amazing set!! My ONLY complaints are as follows...and these complaints come STRICTLY from my OCD
1.) Jean and Emma have gummy legs with those horrible high heels! Why they don't use Black Cats heels I have no clue!! 2.) Jeans make up is too dark. Emma and Selene look good with the lighter colors...Im no make up artist but Jean will be getting a custom make over. Also Jeans cape should be red inside. 3.) I think Emma should have a more "Satin" finish to her outfit. Like pearlized or something 4.) THERES ONLY FOUR OF THEM!!! My set up is lopsided with only four...we need Leland!! Shaw in the center. 5.) I don't have my guards yet!! That's five little nitpick among hundreds of compliments for this set...Im overjoyed we got it!! Golden age of Story telling back then and a fond memory of my childhood! Thank you Hasbro. |

I don't mind a reissued Jim Lee Style Jubilee in the Retro X-Men Line, as long as she has a new head sculpt with her sunglasses in her hair, much like the Build-A-Figure Jubilee Head.

The corset is set over the midsection and not molded into the figure, which I actually prefer aesthetically. The loss of articulation isn’t too big of a deal, because I don’t really plan on too many dynamic poses for these ladies.

I'm going to keep pushing for the not-at-all-rumored-lets-start-a-rumor Brother Hood of Evil Mutants 4 pack for the amazon box set for late in the year. Maybe the Nimrod pack was supposed to be the late year amazon pack though, but I keep holding out hope they'll knock out the rest of Mystique's original group with one fell swoop.
Also just a Firestar preorder of course. |

I'm about to set them up with their new home. So EXCITED!! https://i.postimg.cc/nrPYTXwG/20201004-160357-HDR.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/yxsr2pBY/20201004-163453-HDR.jpg And here they are...Emma needs a cup-holding hand to complete the look but wow...what a great set! https://i.postimg.cc/9XwnNTh7/20201004-164432.jpg |

I checked my local Target at opening but nothing even tho popfindr showed 3, and i couldn't stick around to bug any associates. Went back at noon as the popfindr count hadn't changed, still nothing but the customer service associate got ahold of someone in toys who fussed about stuff being in a pallet in the back, yada yada. Altho i've heard some targets are holding these sets at the electronics counter (possibly to avoid having idiots hide them within the store?) so i'll check that when i try again tomorrow. I don't quite get why we are arguing about making marvel characters more diverse in an action figure thread. Seems like anyone who is upset about those changes should be complaining in an mcu or marvel comics thread, as i don't think hasbro has any say in the matter. |
Just got my Silk delivered. I am still waiting on everything else from pulse con. I do like what they did with packaging though. I wonder if they are giving us clues for new figures in the packaging.

I'll get onboard with your N.A.A.R.L.S.A.R. Brotherhood 4-Pack. That's one of the last big things on my X-Men wishlist. |

In your case, this applies because, evidently, it's not good enough that a black superheroine is, and has been for decades, one the most popular and prominent members of her particular group of characters, strong, brave, beautiful and powerful, loved and respected by her peers and desired by numerous powerful and popular male characters (up to and including literal gods like Thor), no, none of that counts for anything because she had a brief career as a child pickpocket and was introduced "barefoot and topless." But neither of these things are in and of themselves unreasonable given Storm's backstory: Africa is an infamously impoverished continent despite its tremendous wealth of natural resources and while many nations are home to well-developed, modern cities, (often orphaned) street children engaged in endeavors of varying degrees of legality are still an issue in many places. Likewise, even in 2020, African women in some regions will still attend traditional ceremonies quite literally barefoot and topless (although it's apparently becoming common for many of the participants to wear sneakers). But bland and boring is apparently what you want, given your whining about Storm's traumatic childhood and adolescence (which appears to betray an unfamiliarity with one of the recurring themes of the X-Men series as a whole, that being the titular heroes having to endure various hardships prior to finding a spiritual home with the team). The fact is, though, that death was a predictable outcome of "Current Year" racial/sexual insanity, which appears to hold that any existing white fictional character with a bit of name-recognition is fair game for portrayal in a live-action adaption of the material by a non-white (especially black) performer, that women are physically equal to men in all respects, and that films or printed fiction featuring black and/or female characters should be directed/written by directors and writers with the same melanin count/genitalia as the primary characters (something that veteran comic-book scribe Christopher Priest complains has resulted in his being pigeon-holed into the box of "black superhero writer"). These are all obvious influences on your "series of tragically poor decisions" which started with casting Beetz as a sop to the fragile ego of Donald "let me play Spider-Man" Glover. Quote:

stereotype (n.) 1798, "method of printing from a plate," from French stéréotype (adj.) "printed by means of a solid plate of type," from Greek stereos "solid" (see stereo-) + French type "type" (see type (n.)). Meaning "a stereotype plate" is from 1817. Meaning "image perpetuated without change" is first recorded 1850, from the verb in this sense. Meaning "preconceived and oversimplified notion of characteristics typical of a person or group" is recorded from 1922 (Walter Lippmann, "Public Opinion"). It's kind of like "bigot," appropriately enough. The truer sense of the word is a person who believes himself to occupy an exalted moral position versus his neighbors (cf. the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector in Luke 18:9-14) rather than someone who simply bears an unreasoned dislike of someone or something else, so in fact, the sort of people who nowadays are most likely to accuse others of bigotry are in fact bigots themselves according to the uncorrupted meaning of the term. Quote:

I think it's more of a " 17th century prostitute" thing. I'm not sure though. The costumes were lifted straight from an episode of THE AVENGERS from the 60's. Also didn't women in the Hellfire Club have a more "Subservient" role despite being some of the most powerful members? I think I read that in the Hellfire Club mini series |
Found another Storm and Thunderbird set at another Target.
@Starlord67 where did you get those chalices? |

I got one for Dr. Doom and the ones for the Hellfire Club for $12 if I remember correctly. |
To accompany some of the figures that have just come out, I want a new Blob, Avalanche, Toad, Mastermind, Black Bishop, Movie Colossus, Movie Peter, and Movie X-23.
@Starlord67 Thanks! I want to recreate the pose from the Jim Lee X-Men card for Emma Frost. |

Black Bishop, was that Leland, I assume? |
