It's been a great week for some classic X-Men stuff for me....just got my Hellfire Club set in and I managed to get a Storm/Thunderbird set on Sunday.

Everything here (aside from the Thunderbird, which was just okay) is FANTASTIC! Hasbro has been firing on all cylinders. Can't wait to take pictures of these things when I get some free time.

I'm also positive that we're going to be seeing the Sebastian Shaw/Donald Pierce body reused for Morlun, so I can't wait for that. I've also still got 2 Hellfire Club Goons on order. Hoping they put some more up because I think I'm gonna need at least 2 more.

Ultra Seven 10-05-2020 07:00 PM

Besides Morlun, I’m really convinced a Dracula is coming at some point. And then the cape tooling can be reused for Count Nefaria.

Of course I wouldn't mind if they did a new muscular sculpt but I think it serves its purpose.

My issue with the Moonstone body is that nearly every female legends figure that has broken on me in the past came off that stupid mold. I've lost a Warbird, Captain Marvel, Two Black Cats and a Scream to that stupid body mold.

The issue is most often in the hips. Most of the time, the upper thigh joint plugged into hip is too small for the t/y joint ball peg. The thigh will often have a crack or seam right down the middle of it, and will often snap right off the ball if you try to pose the figure dynamically below the waist. They also tend to use a thicker, more fragile plastic for some reason with this body mold, which makes the figure more prone to breakage overall. My Scream figure's arm tore right off at the bicep swivel the first time I tried to manipulate it, and I've had ankles snap right off fairly easily as well.

I wish they would just retire that mold already and create a new one with thicker features for our more muscular and endowed women of the Marvel Universe....even more so than I'd like to see the Hyperion or Bucky Cap mold disappear. With all the complaining people do over those, I personally have had far less issues with those over that wretched Moonstone body.

Love the Black Cat design from the animated series, but looking at it in figure form, there's just something about the lack of a fur-lined collar that kinda bugs me.

14/15 of this month is the street date for the new Rogue and Gambit

StuartGreen2019 10-05-2020 08:28 PM

@Veronica Mars - Where did you find out about the street date? Man, I hope people are actually able to find Rogue and Gambit this time around. Target Exclusives have always been a pain for my local stores.

Jay C's latest video for TNI, they're doing an end cap for X-Men

Ryan Ting said Dwight Stall kinda likes characters with an "evil" aesthetic. Kro's comic version(s) took on demonic forms / figures. If it's no problem to sell the Eternals movie Kro figure at retail, his many comic forms can be made too. (With more graphic versions maybe regulated to convention exclusives). So if Stall makes obligatory comic versions of Kro. Characters of similar aesthetics (whom he may have mimicked through many a millennia) maybe made as well; Belasco, Mephisto, etc...

They’re such excellent figures, and they always look like they leapt out of my childhood memories of the comics. Black Cat is perfect, exactly what I had in mind for the figure. Just got her first appearance recently, cannot wait to display the figure with it. Hoping J. Jonah is next, as well as that Lizard & Shocker some folks think are coming. Excelsior!

Is the expectation that a new Lizard will still use the BAF mold? I hope they go for a new sculpt. I found the last Lizard figure looked way too detailed and realistic to fit with the other Spidey figs, especially in the retro line. It was awesome, but the head looked like something McFarlane or NECA would do.

StuartGreen2019 10-05-2020 10:37 PM

@Veronica Mars - Cool, thanks for the update! I appreciate the reply.

@Ultra Seven - I agree, I am hoping that we get J. Jonah Jameson, classic Lizard and classic Shocker in 2021. I'd really love to see the retro Spider-Man wave continue, these figures have impressed the heck out of me.

As a side note, I posted an image of the Top 10 figures I'd love to see Hasbro make into Marvel Legends figures next year: a smiling classic Captain America, the Fantastic Four in their Negative Zone blue-and-white costumes, classic red costume Daredevil, Jim Lee Cyclops with an optic blast, green-and-orange John Romita Sr. Doctor Octopus with bendable wire tentacles, classic Sandman and first appearance clothes Mary Jane Watson. To my shock, Ryan Ting of the Marvel Legends staff REPLIED to my Tweet, saying: "So... literally all characters that have been made multiple times before? Sticking with the classics!" I knew the staff read our posts on message boards, but getting a reply to my Tweet from one of the Marvel Legends gang completely made my day.

I'm wondering what else will be included on the end cap, Gambit and Rogue, a restock of the Storm 2 pack, I wonder what else they're getting

Robb 10-06-2020 02:55 AM

It might include domino, wolverine, mystique, prof.x 2 pack and dead pool 2 pack. They have them at my store but not on shelf yet.

I think the expectation/ hope is that Lizard would be a different/ new sculpt. I agree, the BAF was cool, but doesn’t real fulfill my desire for a “classic” Lizard.

Archangel 10-06-2020 04:32 AM

Anyone have DPCI’s in that Rogue or Gambit?

ramm 10-06-2020 06:04 AM

Just got charged the hellfire guards so they might ship soon

Super Joe 10-06-2020 06:15 AM

Got the charge for the guards too!

A really good set up with be a mix of vintage figures. Gambit/Rogue, maybe two of the four F4, and two avengers related, maybe Tigra and Yellowjack or something- I'm convinced we're getting a Yellowjacket redo fairly soon based off the stiltman headsculpt so this would be a good place for it.

I'm definitely in for more retro card F4, the end cap is supposed to be all X-Men

Oh, I totally missed that, thank you!

Hopefully Storm/Thunderbird then, as mentioned. If not, what other four (presumably) vintage X-Men figures....Wolverine of some type of course. JL Storm, in Silver this time, JL Cyclops and I'd love to see that last one be either a GSXM or JL Banshee but I'd say a Beast, Nightcrawler or Deadpool is more likely.

Starlord67 10-06-2020 07:46 AM

Well if Rogue is hitting...she needs to have an improved head or its "CUSTOM TIME!!"

I will be switching that head to a Silver Sable head PDQ!!

Noticed on the Rogue packaging they have Storm, Wolverine, Gambit as well as Rogue. Maybe that's a hint at who will be on the endcap.

An Animated series Morph would be the easiest figure they could make, needing only a new head sculpt. It’s coming sooner than later.

Well there will most likely be a Wolverine. I could totally see them doing the spy gear version that came out in the 90s unless they just wanted to go for a cheap repaint of him in cartoon color tones. Then again, they haven't done the brown costume using the new hairy arms and new heads yet.

I could definitely see a light blue Beast packed with the book that is now becoming a wide array accessory and alternate head.

Silver Storm, but if they do that, I really hope they give her a more rubbery cape instead of that cheap cloth thing that I swear is going to tear any moment.

As for the last one, well I obviously would love it to be Banshee, but my guess is they are going to do Banshee and Siryn together in a 2 pack.

Initially, I was thinking they would do a Byrne Cyclops with repaint heads from the X-Factor Cyclops that has the blast effect, but if the other figures are 90s based, they'll do 90s Cyclops.

Although, I wish it was comic Professor X with the wheel chair they gave the movie version.

Hey all. Long time no post. I got charged for my Hellfire Club guards which I'm super excited about! However, I still haven't received the Hellfire Club set (as well as the Transformers set). I have the Pulse membership so I ordered on the 1st day. They charged me for them but I have yet to get a shipping notification. Is anyone else still waiting?

I have the exact same thing. I ordered right away when they went live and it is paid, but nothing has shipped yet.

I'm glad it's not just me, but I'm sad to hear this for you. One of my friends who lives near me just got the Hellfire set and it arrive over the weekend. I don't get it. I was going to call their customer service number and it's currently shut down. Ugh.
