TFcon's expansion to a 2 day convention was made possible through merging with the Canadian 80s Toy Expo on the Sunday of the event. This was necessary due to many dealers completely selling out of merchandise on the Saturday requiring a dealer room restock if a 2nd day was to be added. This year is no different with the Sunday bringing us Canada's largest dealer room for 80s toy related merchandise consisting of dealers selling Super Heroes (Marvel, DC etc), Star Wars (new and vintage), Transformers (vintage and Japanese imports), G.I. Joe (vintage and modern), Masters of the Universe (vintage and classics), Wrestling, and tons of other Action Figures and collectibles. We will also welcome new guests to the convention on the Sunday.

TFcon features Canada's largest dealer room for Transformers merchandise, question and answer panels and autograph sessions with many special guests including Transformers writer Simon Furman and Transformers voice actors Garry Chalk and Paul Eiding; artists Joe Ng, Alex Milne with more TBA, a costume and customs contest and fan discussion panels.

TFcon - Canada's 10th Annual Transformers Collectors Convention is July 30th and 31st, 2011 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre in Mississauga, Ontario with free parking. You can book your hotel room for TFcon 2011 via the hotel reservation website and preorder the TFcon 2011 exclusive Stronghold figure and preregister for TFcon 2011 before July 15th.

"We are still waiting on the Sideburn figures to arrive from China. They are in the United States but have not cleared customs. We are not going to give you an estimated date as we don't know when they will release them to us. As soon as we receive them, they will go to the mailer.

As soon as we mail them, we will send out another email. Thanks for your patience as we don't have control over these different government agencies."

BTS Toys Soundblaster Sonicron Black Version

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

We have recently received some interesting news from BTS Toys. What you see here is a look at a proposed redeco of their Sonicron. Sonicron Black Version is a homage to Soundblaster, the black redeco of Soundwave originally from Transformers The Headmasters (called "New Soundwave" in the STAR TV dub). This is a hand-painted prototype here, but it should give you a flavor of what BTS intends to do with the Sonicron's redeco - and the mold looks exceptionally sharp in red and black.

As with the regular edition, Sonicron Black Version comes with multiple weapons and two heads - a Generation 1 styled one, and a War for Cybertron inspired one. This leaves it in your hands if you want Sonicron to be a straight out recolor on your shelves, or a version with an alternate loadout of weapons and a different head - a very nice touch.

Stay tuned for more news and our own review / gallery of the original blue Soundwave inspired Sonicron.

According to Deadline, Transformers Dark of the Moon did a total of 13.5 Million for Tuesday IMAX 3D and Midnight and later Wednesday showings. This is less than Revenge of the Fallen, but it's a different world today, and people are less likely to spend 40 bucks to stay up late during the week http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/images/smilies/smile.gif. Plus, not all folks had access to IMAX or 3d Theaters late last night and want to wait for that.

Some are predicting 200 Million by July 4th, and 1 Billion worldwide in the end. What do you guys think? Sound off in here: Early Midnight Totals Are In!

Transformers: The Ride - More Info: Peter's B

Originally posted by: NIBMRatchet @ TFW2005.com

Variety has posted an article regarding the upcoming Universal Studios' Theme Park Ride; Transformers: The Ride.

The motion-based ride will tell an original "Transformers" story and use 3D animation, animatronics and the latest flight-simulator technology to place guests in the middle of a battle between the heroic Autobots and villainous Decepticons.

"We're always looking for ways to engage people and show our characters where people want to experience them," Aaron Archer, Hasbro's VP brand creative, brand design and IP development told Variety.

Chip Largman, senior VP of creative at Universal Studios Hollywood, calls the ride "a natural follow up to the films" that serves as "an extension" of what auds have already seen in theaters. "But it's not dependent upon your experience in seeing the film."

Given the popularity of the films, Hasbro is naturally eager to keep the property alive on the bigscreen, as well. Until more films are made, it has the ride to keep auds interested.

To do that, Hasbro enlisted Industrial Light and Magic to reprise its role from the films to create the photorealistic 3D characters and visuals and for the ride, and hired Peter Cullen to voice Optimus Prime and other actors from the series.

Because it is Japanese w/ subtitling and so appeals to a specific Transformers fan, it is not physically in WalMart or Target stores. It is in Best Buy and Transworld (FYE) stores and many other retailers. Fans can certainly get it directly from ShoutFactoryStore.com
