Ugh.....why not give us the silver and black spider armor fig?

Shinzero02 10-23-2020 09:54 AM

Anyone know the artist who does the portraits on the back of the recent X-men 2packs?

It's great artwork that could contribute to a really nice display but I'd prefer to print it out at a needed size over using cut outs of the figure boxes.

I don't remember the artist's name, but they are the same one who did the "action figure" alternate covers on various Marvel comics in the past couple years.

Like I said, she never wore that outfit in the comics. Why would you need to make a movie figure comic accurate?

Does anyone remember the EXACT differences in the:

X-Force Wolverine Hit Monkey wave
vs
X-Force Wolverine SDCC set.

Shit, I have both in storage or else I could answer this. I’m thinking Harbinger is right, but I don’t remember a huge difference between the two.

The SDCC set is a flat gray, while the Hit Monkey wave is silver (with a luster) and has a 'hairy forearm' paint app peeking out from the top of his gauntlets.

No worries on that being a guess, I double checked B...

Just get over it. Comics change backstories and costumes all the time. Who cares if they are different in the movies as long as they are they character? I just think of the movies like alternate universe comics.
People deal with that multiverse garbage all the time in the comics just fine, but the movies are apparently sacred and must be exactly like that one version of the character that I know and want to see and if you change it, I am going to cry and you are personally attacking my life and beliefs and I will never read comics or see a comic movie again until the next one comes out.

Why would you need to make a movie figure comic accurate? Domino never wore that outfit in the comics...

Do you hate the actress so much that you need to swap her face off the figure?

I always felt like the "comic accurate" argument was pretty disingenuous, considering what people are willing and unwilling to accept.

A Wolverine that's a whole foot taller than his comic counterpart has been fine for the past 20 years. The X-Men movies, in general, have largely thrown out comic accurate suits in favor of a visually bland and muted style that's a complete 180 from the comics, and that always bothered me far more than changes to any one character's skin color.

I got really tired of the movie figures. The figures have aged badly in terms of displayablity. Bright, colorful costumes look better to display.

Movie figures are not exciting to have displayed as they don;t really catch the eye,

hasbroherofan 10-23-2020 06:17 PM

I love that this forum has the exact same argument about racebending characters every few weeks and it's always the exact same people making the exact same arguments about how a black Domino apparently ruined their childhood.

I'd say make a drinking game of it but I don't want anyone to have liver failure.

I'll make sure to send your memo to Hasbro right away.

Veronica Mars 10-23-2020 06:18 PM

Thunderstrike arrived, he's a lot better than I expected, I might still see if I can find a good neutral face, maybe from a WWE figure. Now we just need Crystal and Sersi to finish that Avengers roster

hasbroherofan 10-23-2020 06:23 PM

For real. Been waiting on Crystal and Lockjaw forever.

I was thinking of using one of the Ragnarok Thor heads to fix Thunderstrike, from the 2 pack w/ Valkeyre, and re painting the hair to comic yellow. I bought an extra set on clearance so he is just a fodder figure anyway. But , Beard, Short hair, I think it will work fine since the Rag Thor figure is a little big anyway. Will have to get T-strike in hand to see if I can transplant the ponytail.

That's not too bad, maybe a little dead eyed

hasbroherofan 10-23-2020 09:34 PM

The blush is still a bit much, but Rogue's face looks better there.

Hulkwummy 10-23-2020 09:49 PM

When will the Target Exclusive Vintage Gambit and Rogue figures be released?

MeLikeJinx 10-23-2020 10:02 PM

Both look good to me... hopefully Target gets a crap ton of them in and on the pegs for the holidays.
