That has yet to happen. :(

The same thing thing happened I saw the IM that was pegged from the original third wave, pre Hit Monkey. I was sooo excited that I was finally going top get DP without having to sell a vital organ plus FF Dion in white!? Hell yeah!! And not to mention Punisher, the only lcs I know of has two TB versions of him say almost $30, almost a full tank of gas....fu__ :(
Now all this talk that Hasbro will not only stop making UM figures but make ML figures only when a movie comes out and that's also a hit & miss because there won't be a lot of 6" figures including variants!!

trebleshot 10-30-2013 06:27 AM

Well, hopefully I will have better luck with TV Batman. Ultimately I could live without West, Ward or Gorshin. The only one I really, really want is a Cesar Romero Joker.

Man, I hope he's the movie Bumblebee of his case assortment.

That was the main problem I had with The Batman. What is its point when BTAS is a superior show? I can either watch an average Batman cartoon or I can watch the greatest cartoon ever made.

Having both grown up with BTAS and having gone back and watched it since, I can say that there's a lot of rose-tinted glasses going on. Don't get me wrong, it's got a lot of highlights, but it's not some golden example of animated storytelling. There are times when it is downright difficult to take seriously (well, as seriously as one should take any cartoon of that caliber). Greatest cartoon ever made? Nnnnnnnot especially. (Personally, I'd award that to Gargoyles and its amazing two seasons)

It laid a lot of amazing storytelling groundwork for future DCAU series (Batman Beyond and JL/JLU), and introduced some of the most iconic voice actors for given roles, but even with it's short run in, I've come to like Beware just as much as BTAS, if not moreso.

Both still pale next to BatB, though.

Think that may have won the thread.

And like that you've lost me.

I think it's a good thing I decided not to try getting the last Unlimited wave. Can't find them anywhere anyway, the only store that still carries them is Kmart and they're stocked full of Planet X Batman, DKR Batman and Batgirl.

Seriously. I'm on the final disc of the last season of BTAS, and you know all of those iconic episodes we all remember? Those are the only good ones. Heart of Ice, Robin's Requiem, Mad Love, the one where Tim tried to protect that girl from Clayface... those were exceptions, not the standard. Some episodes make me cringe just as much as certain 80's cartoons.

It's true. I'd add Almost Got 'Im and Over The Edge (hell, a handful of the last season episodes) to the 'iconic' list for me, but otherwise, it's a lot better through nostalgia goggles than it is in reality.

Gargoyles is the second greatest ever. BTAS had atmosphere, it used the negative space style for its animation, it had voice acting, it was based off the best era of Batman's comics, the 70s, etc. Not to mention they let Denny O'Neil adapt (his and) one of the greatest Batman stories ever into the series. Then you have the things like Almost Got'Im, The Man Who Killed Batman, The Trial of Batman, Feat of Clay, everything with Mr Freeze, The Laughing Fish, Night of the Werewolf, etc. Plus, let us not forget Mask of the Phantasm.

It does not matter if you have nostalgia goggles on or not, BTAS was a masterpiece. The only thing I will say does not live as high is Joker due to him still having to be dumbed down for tv. However, until another series puts on a Joker that gets to kill people on screen, BTAS is the best we will get.

Uh no. Brave and the Bold was good, but it was too silly and was not really a Batman toon. It was a "History of the DC Universe with its Host Batman." Batman was just the catalyst to do a show that would not have worked any other way. Plus, as good as the show was, the first 10 episodes were utter crap and it was still sprinkled with some god awful episodes throughout the series. BTAS' first 90 episodes were classics with maybe 3 bad episodes in that entire lot.

snake5289 10-30-2013 09:09 PM

Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie.

Two of these are not necessarily DC Universe figures, but they are styled like them. I think that the Four Horsemen's Queen Alluxandra & Isadorra make for some cool looking stand-ins for Amazons.

snake5289 11-01-2013 04:52 PM

I could see the one on the right as a modern reimagining of Circe or something.

Mastersteef 11-05-2013 01:09 PM

Well it looks like someone has gotten their hands on some early Total Heroes Figures over on ebay.
The articulation looks solid on these, and the sculpts look pretty good as well. I wonder when or if we'll get females in the Heroes line as well?

EDIT: Oops, looks like they are gone now. He had Superman, Batman, Flash and Aquaman up yesterday listed as "ALL STARS DC 2013" when I last checked.

Here's the ended listing for Batman:

I wanted Romero too until I learned that his mustache isn't sculpted on, just lightly shaded.:(

CMIII 11-05-2013 04:02 PM

I picked up Burgess Meredith Penguin still wan Gorshen, Romero, and Newmar

trebleshot 11-06-2013 06:17 AM

I've only seen Gorshin and Meredith once each and regretfully passed at the time. I would be shocked if I ever saw Newmar on the pegs (and I certainly wouldn't pass her up).

I heated the cape with some hot water to get it more flexible, and the wings popped right in the peg holes.
