Agreed. We need more 2099 figures. Doom, Hulk, the X-Men, etc. would be nice additions. Also, a new classic Spider-Man 2099 on the retro Spidey body would be cool too.

My guess for the BOTBG BAF is Skurge the Executioner. Considering the "Deep Cut" comment he could definitely be the one. Second guess for a more obscure VILLAN would be Gladiator from the DAREDEVIL series.

I think it's Modok for the BOTBG BAF if not i'll be suprised

About the Dooms and with the caveat that everyone can want whatever they choose to, I'm personally none too interested in either the 2099 Doom nor Secret Wars Doom. The Secret Wars Doom design - post power grab - just wasn't very inspiring and even Zeck himself didn't seem too engaged in making it look interesting or ornate in any way. I get the nostalgia revolving around one's childhood for the 2099 designs, but, with the exception of Miguel, none of those looks became iconic, with many of them altering from book to book in many cases. Numerous 'looks' of the angsty 90's drew eye rolls even before the end of the decade. I don't hear many calls for Dedato's glam-rocking exposed midriff Thor. But, hey, Members Only/Chippendale Havok turned out better than I thought it would despite the two-pack warming a bit on pegs.
I recall En Sabah, or maybe someone else mentioning God Emperor Doom, which I could see my way to accepting into my collection as (at least) an interesting design ala Iron Man Doom. That said, I'd much prefer some other character in the spot of what would be the fourth (?) Doom in a year and a half. If Doom is being added for 'recognition' or 'sell-through' they may as well add some obscure unrepresented villain because, following the failed cinematic FF attempts, most casuals don't know who Doom is either. Use the spots to deliver glaring fan omissions like Count Nefaria and Graviton - these characters are pretty easy and necessitate only minimal extra tooling to existing base bodies. Or go left field with someone like Over-Mind. Filling spots with another Supreme Hydra and Doom smacks of squandered opportunities. |
Seeing how these rumors are calling for a new Dr. Doom of some kind, maybe it'll be a proper Secret Wars style Dr. Doom. Like a throwback to the old school Mattel one.

Eventually Count Nefaria and Graviton will get their day, I'm sure. They're only gaining traction in wishlists. As it is, if the rumors are true, that's only Deathstrike for me for this wave. |

I'm no corporate project manager, but I don't need to be one to be of the opinion that inclusions of this nature (if true) represent misfires. With the addition of some of the usual suspects (Nefaria, Wizard...insert whatever bad guy with multiple mentions) a one or two spot retail pick-up could easily shift into 'all in' on this wave for many of the very same people pining for Secret Wars Doom. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...psbbwqkkhu.jpg |

I came across the full Venompool wave at Walmart and picked up Carnage on impulse but I'm going to return him. The unique sculpted body is a nice touch and the butterfly shoulders certainly add to the articulation, but then the overall modern design of having the black parts look like gnarled vines over him instead of that slick goo-like effect combined with his tendrils all having this barbed spiral pattern just really doesn't work for me. I'll admit it's certainly a fine figure but it's just not enough to get me to keep it when I already have the previous two.

I still can't believe Hasbro is really making a Stilt Man. I always considered it to be a... tall order. But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. In recent years marvel legends have really reached new heights.
|
^ It's true... when it comes to current Legends figures it really feels like the sky's the limit. LOL.
|
Not to mention Frog man. Him finally getting a figure has been a very ribbeting experience.
