I wish I could cancel my membership before Batzarro ships, because I know I won't be able to unload him for even a bucket of warm spit.

I am very underwhelmed by his head, but it is Ra's in DCU style, so I can deal with it. I do wish I could get a HUSH head for it, but oh well. Other than that, it is Ra's Al Ghul!

It's crazy that worked. The first method got one leg unstuck and then the second method got the other one. Although his left leg is really loose at the hip. May have been my fault or the original reason why the Chinese seller had him.

Sez you.

I have such a 90s DC boner for the Hook-Hand Aquaman. If only I could get a proper 90s-costumed Kyle Rayner... (or hell, any Kyle Rayner).

I'm also a big fan of the 90's DC as well. I really wasn't into all the Silver Age designs that they used a lot in the DCUC line. I would have really preferred that they would have used more 90's and modern costumes.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I grew up with a toy box full of Super Powers figures, and I love the iconic designs. But the 90s were when I started really reading comics, and one of the times I followed DC the best, between actual books and being a religious Wizard Magazine reader. Part of me would love to build a Morrison-era JLA (the rest of me wants to build a Classics-style DCAU Justice League).

Hell, I was on the verge of buying the Aquaman vs. Mer-Man 2-pack from TRU when Hook-Hand was announced.

I think it looks all right. It could be worse; I still can't convince myself to get any Supergirl figure because they all look pretty terribad.

CMIII 11-21-2013 06:03 AM

I have 2 of the Supergirls. The T-Shirt version the Hair paint is stagnant Blond (just yellow) where as most figures blend colors nicely to make it look somewhat natural. And the Kryptonite Chaos versions face looks like shes got an eating disorder. But this seems to be how most female figures are none are all that good

I just got mine in yesterday, and he is a pretty good looking figure. I only have a few complaints with him; one is the hair (which I may swap the head out with a bearded Sentry head), two is the hook really needs a swivel for certain poses, and finally he needs ankle pivots :)

I think that's a bit of a generalization; I have a number of female figures (Huntress, Nu52 Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Power Girl, Mad Love Harley Quinn, SA Batgirl, Nu52 Batgirl, Zatanna, and Raven), and while I agree that not all of them are perfect, I'd hardly say that none of them are good. Huntress and SA Batgirl in particular stick out in my mind for how good their face-ups look.

Well that became standard on the DCUC figures since what around wave 12, but I just mentioned it because I miss that point of articulation. Sure I'll take some pictures tonight.

Oh, I was confused; I thought it meant that he didn't have ankle joints, period. Whoops!

CMIII 11-22-2013 06:30 AM

Im not saying all are Bad I'm saying most and Mattel and 4 horsemen don't seem to love the Female figure. There are what about 8 bucks for the Male figures and maybe 3 for the Female figures not counting the oversized. And the Head molds for some figures (female) are 1 of 4 different

It's more that females have always been difficult to execute in what would be considered a 'boy's' toy line, even as far back as the original MOTU toyline. Toy companies have often hit the wall when trying to maintain a balance between creating an aesthetically appealing toy of a female character, and making it poseable enough to not be a statue. Look at the Aprils (and Kala, Irma, and Mona Lisa) of the original TMNT toylines, or any of the women released in Toy Biz's old X-Men line. For some reason, the consumer audience seems to be more accepting of male molds, regardless of possible shortcuts made due to articulation/accessories/gimmicks; but the moment you present a female mold that doesn't hit a sweet spot between sculpt and articulation, nobody wants it. It's either 'ugly' or 'an inaction figure.'

If anything, the buck system worked to their favor. Should they have done more female bucks? Sure, absolutely. But having even only three on hand that work well enough to keep using is good, because it makes it easier to get more female characters out (in concept, at least). As for the heads, I don't really get what you mean about '1 of 4 different,' since each female figure has an individual head mold (sometimes two!), even among figures of the same character.

Some of the figures suffer, yes; the Fire I sold off had the infamous 'Donna Troy hip problem.' Zatanna and Black Canary get neutered in the legs due to the addition of the 'real' fishnet stockings. But I like all the female DC figures I have, either due to sculpt, articulation, or in a few cases, both.

CMIII 11-22-2013 01:16 PM

Do you have Katma Tui, Mary Batson, and Dove. If you look carefully you'll see something similar. The Base mold of the head is the same yeah the did additions and subtractions but close examination shows the same hair style and lines. I have to say that I understand the avoiding putting Female figures in the stores and the typical 1 female per wave but the club should have been the way to get more female figures done. Im sure many of us would have loved Amanda Whaller (new female Buck), Renee Montoya Question (New buck) and so on

Hi every one. I'm new in town (and in 6" Dc action Figures) and I'm a french guy (nobody's perfect).

I fell in love recently with the dc classics collection and I think all of your collections are wonderful!

I just started my own collection so there it is:

Manji1981 11-23-2013 12:03 PM

Hi 1987olds442,

do you have hints to see the difference between a chinese fake version and the true Wonder woman or other DC classics action figure? (a part from maybe the bad plastic)

(Excuse my poor english)

CMIII 11-23-2013 12:58 PM

ok How did they get Hook Hand Aquaman? And how long till Unleashed Doomsday appears?

There is no Unleashed Doomsday. -_-

Hookhand Aquaman is the same way they got Icr. They were already in production back in the summer and these are figures taken off the production line. This is nothing different. I am tempted to buy Ice just so I don't have to deal with Matty in June.
