I had an order canceled because they were “out of stock”, then walked in the store 2 hours later and found it on the shelf. It’s definitely an awkward system they have.

Anyway, got Rogue, Gambit, and grabbed Lando for the free deal since they didn't have any other ML. Actually, they didn't even have any of the new figures out. I had to give the dude the DCPI's to Rogue and Gambit in order for him to even be able to help me out as he said they don't have anyone working in toys today.

How’s Rogue in-hand? And is Gambit worth getting if I bought the last one? That Lego Haunted House is awesome looking, although not nearly as cool as that Christmas Carol set.

Never had the first release of Rogue. Never could find her. Seen her in friend’s collection, however. New version has a much better head sculpt. The “skunk stripe” is fuller on the new one. Quality is really good. Paint is sharp on the face. Joints are a little stiff, but a little warming and they free up quick. She’s definitely worth the $19, but I’d feel taken if I had paid the $80-140 for the Juggernaut wave release.

Gambit is 50/50. If you got the first one, you don’t NEED to upgrade. The hair is more 90’s accurate, but otherwise it’s not much different. Joints are good, paint sharp. Pupils in eyes are red, looks good. Overall happy with both. Good figures, and my wife’s adventure was entertaining. Lol

That helps, thanks. I have Rogue on pre-order, the headsculpt is what I was interested in, since it looks off in promo shots, but decent from in-person shots I’ve seen on forums and in reviews. For now, I think I’ll pass on Gambit, maybe I’ll get him if I see him on clearance. The hair on the first figure never really bothered me.

I used the head from the toy biz gambit which i like better. He doesnt have that cameron diaz something about mary look anymore.

Here's to hoping that Target re-stocks theses Vintage releases as well as the recent Storm 2-packs.

Wasn't able to get out today, so of course I've missed out on the Vintage Rogue release from every local Target store. To no one's surprise, Ebay & Mercari are already both filled with $40+ Rogues. :rolleyes:

I originally intended to just swap heads with Rogue but I'm actually really liking the paint job on this new one and I don't know why. The more matte finish looks really good even though the yellow doesn't match with Jean, Cyclops, and Wolverine. I might just keep her as is and put the old one in the extras bin.

Gambit is freaking incredible. I had no idea I didn't like the old Gambit's hair until I got this guy. The only things I am not a fan of is no stubble for his beard and they changed his right hand's hinge from being up/down to side-by-side. I love how the cards are actually painted along with the added detail to his blue chest thingajig. Oh, and the staff doesn't actually slide out of his hand like it does on my old one.

Just in case there was any doubt, the UPC numbers for the Retro Fantastic Four wave for next year and a second D+ Avengers wave in August have surfaced (thanks to tatooinesandworm from Fwoosh).

F4 is a six figure wave so I'm hoping at least two of those slots are new characters.

Jameson is great, but I decided to put the old head on his body that I had drilled into to put in a "cigar." I love the pointing finger as like with Cobra Commander, it allows for a lot of great expressions despite him only having one face.

I don't hate Black Cat as much as I thought I would. I think the head itself, despite being a reuse, looks far more like Black Cat to me than the previous figure did. I also like that they did improve her range of motion in the legs. It does look weird without the white fur around her body, but I'll get used to it. Another improvement for me is the white actually looks like it is white with some gray shading rather than blue. Lastly, and of course, she can stand up so much better thanks to not having heals.

Also Barnes and Noble has 15% off all orders with code CYBER15. Used it to get the Rogue/Pyro set for $42.50 as i really haven't seen it marked down significantly anywhere else up to this point.

Yah the shopping deals this year is pretty paltry at best. Very few really good deals out there.

I'm not surprised though given how bad this year has been. Companies can't afford to give astronomical deals with all of the money they have lost.

I'm curious if the Retro Fantastic Four wave or the first Disney+ wave, or both, will be what we may end up seeing revealed on Friday. I do hope the rumored U.S. Agent figure from Wave 1 of the Disney+ wave will be comic book based, as a new figure of classic U.S. Agent is long over-due and he was rumored to be a Walgreens exclusive for this year that never happened.

For the Retro Fantastic Four wave, I'm curious to see which figures will make up the six slots. While I could see one version of Mr. Fantastic and Thing released, does that mean we'll see a regular Johnny Storm or a Human Torch? Will the Invisible Woman be visible or completely invisible? Will we see Fan Channel versions of Johnny or Torch, or a visible or invisible version of Sue? Will we see Fan Channel and/or store-exclusive continuations of Retro Fantastic Four like this year's Retro Spider-Man is doing? We have a Retro Dr. Doom, so why not make Fan Channel releases of characters like the Mole Man, Terrax, Blastaar, Annihilus and/or Psycho-Man? Also, if we don't get a Fan Channel Thing with a hat, sunglasses and trench coat or a two-pack of Alicia Masters with the Puppet Master, then what's the point? ;) Also, I think it'd be cool to see a new She-Hulk figure in her Fantastic Four uniform.

Also, since 2021 is upon us, I will briefly list my favorite figures of 2021, in no particular order: Stan "The Man" Lee, Retro Spider-Man, Retro Gwen Stacy with the Mary Jane Watson alternate head, Retro Electro, Retro Mysterio, Falcon, the Storm/Thunderbird two-pack, Retro Dr. Doom, Deluxe War Machine, Moon Knight and Retro Rogue.

For 2021, my Top 10 wish-list of characters would be:
01.) Classic scaly-chainmail costume Captain America with a smiling head sculpt based on John Byrne's artwork
02.) Jim Lee X-Men Blue Team costume Cyclops with a new head sculpt, the "Love Triangle" 3-pack blue and yellow suit colors, more secure bandoleer and thigh straps, and a new red optic blast accessory
03.) Classic green-and-orange costume Doctor Octopus with a head sculpt based on John Romita Sr.'s artwork and all-new bendable wire tentacles
04.) Classic Sandman with a neutral head sculpt, an angry alternate head and sand weapon hand accessories

^ Pretty sure classic red Daredevil is coming on a retro card since his picture was teased... not sure what mold it will be though... hopefully the new Spidey mold.

And for Jim Lee Cyclops... I actually like the bright yellow/dark blue colors of the 3 pack more than the yellowish orange colors of the Warlock wave Cyke... so I hope any re-release uses the 3 pack colors.

My number 1 wish aside from Shadowcat and Banshee is retro carded blue version Psylocke with pony tail.

And congrats to everyone that found Rogue and Gambit... I only half failed. My Target had everyone except Rogue, but I don't think the store even has Rogue at all since Popfindr has been showing zero Rogues all week. At least I got Gambit though... I really wanted that new retro Gambit hairstyle... my store had 5 Gambits and only one had near perfect paint apps on the facemask and eyes... the rest were just unnacceptible IMO... glad I got to pick the best one from the bunch.

Also, I've edited my post adding/mentioning the Love Triangle three-pack suit colors, as I agree that those would be used for the next Jim Lee Cyclops figure. I Retweeted a post someone wrote about wanting a Retro Jim Lee Cyclops with the Love Triangle suit colors, extra fist hand and optic blast accessory and added I hope the next Jim Lee Cyclops figure is easier to find than the Warlock Build-A-Figure wave figure's was.

So if we take the general wants for a F4 retro wave, we'll get the four, Doom and Surfer. Hey, that fills a LOT of missing or needed characters.

Not to knock everyone's personal wants of course, but this is the conundrum with any Fantastic Four themed wave. We'll never get past the big names if all we're getting are the same main characters in different looks.

@Captain Nash - We already have Retro Dr. Doom, so why would he be in the main Retro Fantastic Four wave? We don't know if Silver Surfer or She-Hulk will be a part of it. Heck, we don't even know who any of the six characters will be. Right now, it's anyone's guess. And like I said, there's always Fan Channel releases and, God help us, store exclusives to expand the Retro Fantastic Four wave.

My main want from a retro FF wave is a correct version of the human Torch, none of that BS translucent crap. A fully invisible woman is long overdue. Classic Wizard & Trapster are a must as well.
