Wow if those are indeed the new ones then yeah I can't wait. Grim, Hyperion, Wasp and Grim I'm def getting. But for 15 a pop ooh price point sucks.

klinton 12-24-2013 09:27 PM

Why are people assuming these are 3.75"? It explicitly says 'new, larger scale' and 6" in the text. The 'Infinite' lable matches corresponding 'Infinite' figures found in the Captain America Winter Soldier Legends line.

This isn't MU nor in scale with MU. It's something else.

Kernel 12-24-2013 09:37 PM

^ the cap and IM in the pic are the MU 3.75" ones, and the body on grim reaper is that MU standard mold.
I'm happy there is some news on the new line!

Iceman 12-24-2013 10:04 PM

Yeah, those are clearly MU parts used so that means the same scale. Hyperion is he one that looks new. I don't think he's using the same parts as the 6" one but doesn't look like an MU buck I recognize.

scarbs 12-24-2013 11:35 PM

Cool can't wait for Wasp.

PROVOST 12-25-2013 04:51 AM

I understand that, but I think this is still something else. Larger figures with the MU articulation, at Legends prices.

They can simply scale the parts larger for new production molds. I'm not quite sure why everyone is intent on believing these are 3.75", when it explicitly says "new, larger scale". It's right there in black and white....

bmorr 12-25-2013 09:48 AM

cause whoever wrote that blurb didnt do their homework klinton. its priced that high cause thats what MU costs in diamonds world.

ultraman zoffy 12-25-2013 09:53 AM

If I saw a picture of a giraffe and the caption said "pig", I'd go with giraffe. Just sayin'... =) Either the pic is wrong, or the description is wrong, but everything in the picture implies 3.75 scale.

Marvel Universe = DC Multiverse

DC is in the game gents.

So my Azrael and Bane from DC Comics Multiverse (Mattel) arrived and I have to say they are really well done and comparable to the Marvel Universe line. I was worried because A) the DC Collectibles 3.75" are a bit small B) Mattel has a crappy track record with the scale C) the press shots of the figures don't do them any favors and D) the articulation seems lacking.

I am pleased to say I was 100% wrong. The scale is very 3.75"-4" ala MU. The figures are scaled closer to the MU 4" scale so they fit in.
The articulation is somewhere between the MU line and the Marvel movie line figures. The knees move, the thighs swivel, the legs are T-Crotch style but move in every direction like a ball joint except the ball joint is inside of the figure so it is more limiting. The waist swivels (unlike the Marvel movie lines) and the arms have the internal shoulder ball joint as well. The elbow move up and down only unfortunately and the wrist turns. The neck is a ball as well so the head can move although for these two molds they don't have much to move bc of the sculpt.

The paint is perfect (unlike a lot of the MU figures). The accessories are little to none ala MU.

All in all these figures are a must buy for the MU side of the house and I HOPE Mattel will keep this line going as MU has been in flux. All in all a keeper and a welcome addition to the scale.

bmorr 12-25-2013 12:22 PM

I dont want to have to get into the DC stuff, but if they do i want it to be from the comics and not the game.

I grabbed Bane, Azrael, Mr Freeze, and Batman at Target. Batman is a disapointment compared to the others. his head is tiny and his shoulders are huge. probably going to use the Michael Keaton one in his place in my collection when that comes.

Bane, Mr Freeze, and Azrael are A+. Especially Bane and Freeze. I kinda wish Freeze's left hand were open cause I'd have him clutching somebody by the neck.

MADREVJACK 12-25-2013 02:13 PM

I want to army build the Mr. Freeze figure. Paint them up to be Doomsmen or Doombots. They look like they could be in some kind of Dr. Doom army.

kylactus 12-25-2013 03:22 PM

when did Bane start taking fashon tips from Crossbones?

I hope you guys are right, to be honest. I'm just a little mystified as to how you're all arriving at this conclusion.

A 3.75" Wasp and Grim Reaper would rock my little world. :D

mdstimcell 12-25-2013 04:45 PM

Found these at HPB in Dallas the other day.

Because it would make no sense to upscale MU parts and make new physical molds when ML parts already exist. Especially for something like bleeding edge Iron Man that has a full set of parts for 6" scale already made. If they didn't have things like the thigh swivel you might have a point. Reducing articulation would save money on ML but switching to MU molds wouldn't. If makes zero sense for saving money, and that's the one thing Hasbro seems to spend time on.

Also, we've seen so many errors in promotional material from Hasbro getting the size wrong wouldn't be surprising. Like the previously mentioned Cloak and Dagger 2-pack that was still being solicited by Hasbro after figures had shown up and we knew they were single carded. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. It seems that old info or concept ideas sometimes get mistakenly sent to the marketing team. It means either the picture is wrong or the text is.

boombatty 12-25-2013 05:29 PM

I did see that Dan Curto stated they were 4 inch. He is usually spot on.

bmorr 12-25-2013 07:04 PM

Now that we have Nighthawk and soon Hyperion, bring on the rest of the Squadron Supreme!(And a nighthawk variant). Hasbro, please make this a SDCC boxset please. And dont forget about the New Warriors.

I'm excited for Hulk, Wasp, Grim Reaper, and Hyperion
