Off of last year’s list, we also got Falcon, although I suspect many people (like myself) were asking for a classic version rather than a modern version.

Falcon was needed, and yes, we did get him knocked out, he just wasn't in my top 10. The two we share are Banshee and Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat

Ah what the heck my list was:

Atlas BAF

Avalanche (classic - although I think, that's pretty much his only look?)
Sersi - I didn't specify the look and any will do but I'd love a red/black look instead of her iconic green
Banshee (didn't specify a look, GSXM or Jim Lee is fine with me)
Mandarin - didn't specify but classic.
Shadowcat
Exodus
Graviton
Count Nefaria
Lady Deathstrike - classic look. She's rumored but not confirmed.
Justice

I suspect we'll at least get Banshee, Shadowcat and Deathstrike next year. Mandrin is WAY overdue and ridiculous he's not in the rumored line up for the Iron Man wave. Avalanche should get made in the next couple of years, and a comic Sersi should be a lock but who knows. And they're intent on finishing off the OG Thunderbolts so either Atlas or Meteorite should be next.

Potentially that's actually 7 out of 11 that have a more than fair chance of getting made next year. Of course, the remaining 4 are all in my top 5 lol. But I'm guessing they'll come along within the next 2-3 years at most, all 4 of them are picking up steam on the wishlists and 3 of the 4 should be relatively easy to make (Exodus may require a little more tooling)

For Legends...I'd say yes. For all of Hasbro's other brand exclusives however...I'd say this is a resounding no. Black Series, G.I.Joe and Transformers exclusives have been a NIGHTMARE to collect this past year. Most have received very limited releases with little to no restock, and if you are lucky to come across them, it is not because they are well stocked, but rather because they are either a very limited repaint (such as the Walmart Transformers Netflix line) or they are of characters no one really asked for (Black Series Captain Cardinal and whatever that spider droid was...)

In G.I.Joe's case, it's been a total disaster. The easiest exclusives to get were all just repaints of Cobra Commander or Destro, while nearly every other exclusives has been either a core character or army builder to the franchise. Whoever is in marketing and distribution on the Joe team should be pulled by their ears outta the building and pelted with the mountains of Cara Dune and Mirage repaints sitting on my local shelves. Hopefully Hasbro can right the ship the way they seem to have with Legends...because many people are fed up with it....myself included...and are already threatening to kill the young line by walking away.

The only one handling exclusives worse right now is Neca, who is practically printing money (for Scalpers and Resellers that is...) with their TMNT lines, but seem allergic to stocking their exclusives at the respective retailers with them. They instead opt for flooding the shelves with their various Back to the Future lines (which they GREATLY OVERESTIMATED the cry and hype for) and restocks of Predator figures released two or three years ago.

Nice list! I definitely see all of those coming sooner as opposed to later, since most come from eras or teams Hasbro has been picking away at. Besides Banshee, Shadowcat, & Deathstrike, I think Avalanche is also pretty likely for next year, maybe in a Brotherhood boxset. Mandarin should be coming in some form, it’s weird that he’s not part of the rumored assortments for the Iron Man or Shang-Chi waves. Some comics Eternals seemed like locks for their wave, but with the all-MCU approach, who knows. Maybe an SDCC-boxset with the main players from the Kirby run, and 90s Sersi in an Avengers wave (or a two-pack with Black Knight)? Atlas is practically a guarantee, it’s just a question of when, same for Justice.

Graviton & Nefaria were two I had figured would be part of the villain wave, since they’ve been on lists like this for years. Especially since neither would much new tooling. It seems like we’ll end up seeing them in an Avengers wave like Kang.

Dr Kain 12-31-2020 12:20 PM

My list for their poll:

Banshee [Byrne/Cockrum]
Hobgoblin [Romita Jr]
Sleepwalker
Spider-Man [Romita Sr deco]
Avalanche [Cockrum]
Destiny [Cockrum]
Shocker [Romita Sr]
Montana [The Enforcers]
Ox [The Enforcers]
Fancy Dan [The Enforcers]

BAF - Blob [Cockrum]

Ultra Seven 12-31-2020 12:29 PM

I would love to see the Enforcers as a boxset. For that I’d need the Big Man, preferably with a Foswell alternate head.

I feel your pain buddy and even with the Legends, this has only been a recent reprieve specific to Rogue/Gambit/& the Spideys.

If only people understood what was on the horizon when they caustically jeered, "good riddance TRU, I could never find shit there anyway!" This is the fallout of losing a retailer that represented 12-15% of US toy market. They never realize how much they'll miss you until you're gone...

All that said, maybe Hasbro and Target have finally hammered out a feasible solution.

Well it doesn't help when people are breaking street dates by scanning a different figure in its place at the register.

Street dates don’t mean shit when each store only has six figures. What are you going to do, get in a knife fight with scalpers tomorrow at 8AM?

No store around me even have any in stock. If I can’t find these online at retail, I’m probably unloading the collection I have when I get them out of storage. Those Joes aren’t worth the hassle.

Like many others i turned gung ho into a viable reece and plan on customizing snake eyes into an old custom figure i made as a kid. Scarlett will be repurposed and if i cant find flint or lady jaye ( which given how fucktackularly bad the stocking was on the exaisting figs ) ill just wash my hands of this line and hope 4 inch figs of joes make a reasonably priced comeback. Im sick and tired of having to compete with scalper assholes and scalper bots on line. Collecting has become a war anymore.

Agreed. Somehow Legends are the most reasonable and accessible out of what I collect. These Joe and Black Series lines can get stupid sometimes.

I'll just walk in with some Twisted Tea. That'll scare them off.

I don't see the point in stopping to collect the line over some exclusives though. As Hasbro has shown with the Cobra Trooper, they're going to redo the Viper down the line anyway. I just want some Vipers asap since I have no Troopers on my shelf, and as such, all of the pictures I want to take of the line are on hold until I can get some damn battle shots in.

With only a handful hours left in 2020 I can put together my picks for top 10 legends of the year. This was definitely a great year for Marvel Legends, I'm pretty happy with every figure I got.

Honorable Mentions: Hugh Jackman Wolverine (Amazon) and Rogue (Target)
10. Silver Centurion Iron Man
9. Kingpin
8. Nimrod
7. War Machine
6. Cosmic Ghost Rider
5. Apocalypse (AoA)
4. Deadpool (Movie)
3. Moon Knight (Walgreens)
2. Kang
1. Dr Doom (Super-Skrull wave), I know a few people got him at the tail-end of last year but this was really an early 2020 figure.

Veronica Mars 12-31-2020 08:33 PM

Has anyone used FEXT sets in their displays? Thoughts?

Decided to take a look at the next 365 days and put some thoughts out on things we will (almost surely) see in 2021. This is not exactly a wish list, more a logic based list, though certainly some of my wishlist may make it on here.

New Warrior Figure - Firestar may count to this and so may Nova, but they're not in their New Warrior looks. I doubt we'd get a New Warrior look of either of these this year in addition to what they're offering. I'd say a good chance we will see Speedball, Justice, Namorita or Silhouette. (a box set would be great but we're about halfway there, not sure how likely it'll be at this point)

Thunderbolt Figure - Like New Warriors Thunderbolts is a team they seemedetermined to complete, while not doing a boxset for a (mostly) one and done release like Alpha Flight. Atlas, Meteorite, Jolt and Techno would be the candidates, Atlas a BAF of course. I could take or leave Jolt personally but she had a presence not long after the series started and was on the team for nearly 3 years.

BOEM II Figure - I'd say Hasbro is aware of the desire for the BOEM II to be completed, likely even more than the original BOEM. Blob/Destiny/Avalanche would complete the core team, a box set with Mystique would be great, or even just these three alone. If not a boxset Blob would need to be a BAF. I think odds are good we'll get at least one of these this year.

Excalibur figure - Since they haven't really gone too deep into this, I see this as more likely than any other as a boxset, but the team has been working on completing the core 90's team looks. I'd say Shadowcat is the most obvious choice, but they may do another first (which would be baffling but it would at least be something)

Cosmic Walgreens - Since this is going to be the next theme for the Walgreens releases, I'm thinking Quasar is definitely a very likely and logical option. Possibly Adam Warlock as well? I think some of the Eternals would also fit in here, but I'm not sure if they'd want to use them in a separate property given their own film. I think it would be a great way to get some comic Eternals though given their main ML wave will be completely MCU based.

Marvel Villains - Lady Deathstrike is rumored for the BOTBG wave, Mr. Hyde would be easily done and likely planned with the Mr. Fixit body, and Mandarin being in the Shang-Chi movie would seem like it would be hard not to release a comic version of him at some point this year.

Other X-Men figures - based on recent tweets by a member of the team it would seem a second wave is coming, but they did also ask who we'd like to see as the BAF - that may mean that the wave is not planned for 2021 since it takes over a year from concept to retail release. Deadpool wave (including X-Force) may not likely come until 2022 as well, but they're almost surely going to release a second X-themed wave this year. I would say Banshee and X-Factor Wolfsbane would be the most obvious choices, maybe Longshot as well. Maybe this is where BAF Blob and Avalanche could go (along with another Wolverine of course!)

Spider-Man - I think the newly revealed outfit (as much as I dislike it) will likely come through this year. I keep saying Spot and Mr. Negative are nobrainers as they'd be so easy to do, yet they keep not getting made, so I don't know anymore.

F4 Retro wave - seems like this will be the Retro wave for 2021. Between the actual wave and exclusives I think we'd get all four of the main four, at very minimum 2. I think this is a good spot where Crystal would fit given her strong ties to the title, either in her F4 uniform or her classic outfit.

Of course, all the movie waves as well, some of which has been revealed and leaked and who knows if BW will have another wave, a re-release of last year's wave, or nothing at all, given the unique hurdles that movie and connected figures would have.

Firestar started out NW in her classic costume, she didn't start wearing the red and black suit until the end of issue 31 after she got back from Nova Roma with Cannonball and Warpath, originally there was no leather jacket and her visor was blue. Pics from the newest NW series that's been shelved indefinitely showed her back in the yellow and red with the giant collar. I wonder if we'll get Vance as Justice or Marvel Boy, as Marvel Boy he could fit into an F4 wave since his first appearance was in Thing's limited series, Namorita is a good candidate for an F4 wave too having briefly dated Johnny and being a substitute team member, personally I would rather get her in her blue Kymaera form, it doesn't really seem likely. Now NW characters I would love to see but not holding my breath are Turbo, Timeslip, Powerpax, Bolt and Aegis, I'd also love NW villains like Tai and Folding Circle, Psionex and Air Force

hasbroherofan 01-01-2021 02:21 PM

My personal top 10

Moonstone (Meteorite or Dark Ms. Marvel)
Mister Negative
Blue Marvel
Wiccan (New Avengers)
Hulkling (New Avengers)
Rictor
Miss America
M
Honey Badger
Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)

BAF: Armor

Left out anyone I wanted that's already been leaked/rumored (Ironheart and the Hood) or strongly hinted (MCU Quicksilver).

Veronica Mars 01-01-2021 02:26 PM

I'm really surprised they haven't done Miss America yet

ThorOdinson123 01-01-2021 03:00 PM

maybe 2021 will be the year Marvel Legends makes Final Battle Endgame Thor. I mean MAFEX and Figuarts did theirs.

I am excited for the Wandavison and Falcon and Winter Solider figures that will probably come. I need Wanda Falcon and Bucky on my Avengers shelf.

I'm glad Marvel Legends are so easy to find. I'm able get every one I want.

Now is a good time. I was passing thru target and they had a HUGE restock of tmnt as well as splinter/Baxter.

We don't know each other but you seem nice enough. However, every time someone mentions NECA Turtles you seem to be at the ready to either say how NECA is doing a great job or how you have no trouble with this line at all. No offense intended of course.

It's just frustrating that there's such a price difference between things like Legends scalpers and Turtles scalpers. $30-40 vs $20 for an in demand Legend is kinda ridiculous profit margin considering gas, time, shipping, etc. But Turtles 2 packs $50 at retail or $100 on eBay and $30 deluxes Krang and Metalhead for $80. It's just super irritating.

Are you willing and/or able to buy and ship the Turtles stuff around you to those of us interested here on the forum? I understand if not. I've bought a couple NECA movies Turtles packs for people that are just sitting in my house because trading is far more tedious.

Nimrod 01-01-2021 05:29 PM

My local Walmarts/Targets are totally depleted of any ML figs asides from the peg warming DP movie figs. Target still has a few cases of the Storm/T-Bird set, that's it. Been 2 weeks since they have restocked. Any idea when the Stiltman wave might be stocked?

Captain Nash 01-01-2021 05:40 PM

I know it's only been two days and we still have two weeks, but looking at what's been posted on the top 10 poll so far, Banshee and Excalibur Shadowcat should have no problems nabbing the top two spots, if the ratio of this cross-section remains the same.
