Stiltman is in stores now. I didn’t buy them, but did look at them for a while. Look really good. They had Frogman too.

I'm really looking forward to 2021 for Marvel Legends. I still have the HFC pack, Firestar, and the HoX wave on preorder to look forward to. There are also multiple rumors for the coming year that I would be super excited for. The Disney+ MCU Scarlet Witch is top of my list and with the promo posters teasing a full fledge new superhero costume for her(which I have wanted since Civil War) I can only hope this is the rumored one. The rumor for MCU Quicksilver is exciting too especia8lly if he were to come in an anniversary 2 pack with AoU Scarlet Witch. Im also excited for Dormammu, the possible Lady Deathstrike and Darkstar. The rumor I am holding out the most hope for is of a second X-men wave. After 2 themed waves for the X-men now we really need a general wave to keep the momentum going for those who aren't into a theme. Since most of my top 10 would be X-men anyways I have fashioned my top ten as a new X-men wave:

Banshee [classic yellow & green]

Longshot

Shadowcat [Excalibur]

Avalanche

Psylocke [Armored]

Cannonball [black costume from Mike Carey era] He's the one rumored X-men character so far to maybe have a figure coming out and I loved this look. I even cosplayed it once for a con. It was sooo cheesy with its giant C on his chest.

Kid Omega

BAF Rockslide

Ive got a few desires for X-men BAFs but Rockslide feels like an actual possibility. I love everyone suggesting Armor but I honestly cant imagine how they would make her. I would love to see them try though! I also really want an Astral form Shadow King. Id use a purple translucent monster Venom base with the already sculpted Shadow King head and maybe alt head that is even more monstrous looking. Maybe the carnage blade as an interchangeable hand too. Holocaust and Abyss are also great choices. A Blob redo would be great. The Archangel Apocalypse from Uncanny X-men would be cool.

MeLikeJinx 01-02-2021 08:41 PM

I see lots of people don't want another Jim Lee Psylocke to be released even if it is the blue version... they want one of her other looks instead. If the blue version never released at all... I would agree, but it irritates me that some people have the blue version and most have the purple version... which is 100 percent Hasbro's fault... they need to fix that first IMO and set things right and rerelease the blue version on a retro card... then after that they can release all the other versions of Psylocke. But if they are planning to just rerelease the purple version than yah... that's just dumb... it will just end up pegwarming like all the white Storms at Target.

I can understand this sentiment even if I don't agree. Not getting the version you want sucks especially when Hasbro technically made it but its not accessible. A retro version would probably be the place to reissue the blue version. For me though I really want to see a non-body swapped (or British) Betsy Braddock. My prefered would be the outback armor but I would take her frilly first outfit or even her Captain Britian look. I already have the Nimrod pack Psylocke to be my Kwannon Psylocke (though not an accurate costume for her I like the figure better than the painted on bathing suit look) and I have never really enjoyed the body swap stories as much as I have enjoyed reading about Kwannon dealing with the aftermath during the current run. Kwannon is very interesting as her own character so I want both characters in my collection.

I wonder if we will keep seeing new figures for the retro lines added after the main waves like we did with Rogue and Gambit. It almost seems like Hasbro should have just planned a second or third wave for the X-men and Spider-man lines due to their popularity. Blue Psylocke and Cyclops reissue always seem to get mentioned and a X-men animated series Morph seems like a super easy to make and natural choice.

I also wonder/hope if they will end up doing any purple backed Evil Mutant retros. I know they mentioned the idea in passing during one fan friday and I love the idea. Maybe if the Bring on the Bad Guys wave sells well they would try out another all villians wave. I could easily fill up an Evil Mutants retro wave. My top choices would be:
Exodus
Mastermind (Jason Wyngarde HFC)
Destiny
Mr. Sinister (black colored version)
Toad
Strife (reissue)
Spiral

I'm so confused about what you're suggesting. They released Jim Lee Psylocke and she was easy to get for a good long while. There was the black hair version and the purple hair version, but they were both in blue suits. Slightly different blues, mind you, but neither was more or less accurate than the other, as different colourists have varied the tone of her costume. I have never seen a purple-costumed variant, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. She's hard to find now, in either variety, so I wouldn't complain about a retro-carded rerelease. People should be able to get one of the most beloved X-Men in her most iconic costume, after all, but I'm not sure why that should take precedence over the release of a figure in her best costume, the armoured Outback look, or any other costume. A huge number of people have their Lee Psylocke already. Those who don't should get the chance, but I'm not sure why there would be any particular rush. I'm much more interested in seeing new characters and new looks, personally, than seeing rereleases of already great figures from the last few years.

Veronica Mars 01-03-2021 12:16 AM

The darker suit that the purple haired Psylocke has is a bit on the purple/indigo side. Also I have to disagree about her being widely available, I saw her once in GameStop and never again after that, and I never saw the black haired version

MeLikeJinx 01-03-2021 01:00 AM

Yah, it's pretty close visually... but black hair Psylocke's outfit is clearly blue and purple hair Psylocke's outfit is more purplish. It is close enough though that either version is good enough for most people... like from skimming the Fwoosh forum... mostly everyone there wants Outback Psylocke next instead of a vintage Jim Lee re-release.

I like the blue outfit version though because it is more reminiscent of video game Psylocke. Also IIRC the black hair/blue outfit Psylocke only came in the very first shipments of the Apocalypse wave that showed up early at Walgreens and very few Targets... that was your only chance to get it... everywhere else got the purple hair/purple outfit running change.

It is also weird that is the only time they ever did a different outfit and hair color running change like that. Just imagine if they did vintage 90's Storm that way instead of separate releases... the first batch was white Storm which was impossible to find and then the running change was black Storm... I bet people would have been more vocal with their discontent in that scenario.

WallySparks 01-03-2021 02:33 AM

anyone display/pose the Age of Apocalypse Wolverine/Weapon X with the stump attachment that has the claws or do you have him with just his right hand?

WallySparks 01-03-2021 02:35 AM

I actaully prefer old school 1980s Psylocke where she was purple haired british Betsy wearing those funky 1980s fashion model clothes.

i was never fond of Jim Lee or whoever turning her into a sex symbol asian ninja.

Seconded on both fronts. For one, I’d actually really like “Mutant Massacre” era Betsy (although I recognize that is not realistic at all), although I’d settle for the outback look. For two, I am not a fan of most of the writing/ character choices made during the tail-end of Claremont’s X-Men tenure, as well as those of the subsequent Jim Lee era.

While I'm all for Hasbro re-releasing both versions of the Apocalypse wave Psylocke again, I'm definitely more hopeful for new versions of Betsy. The three you posted would work for me, especially the armored Outback look. That one is definitely on my want list. After Storm, Psylocke is probably the character I would buy the most alternate costume figures of.

Unrelated - I know it's been discussed before about having an "evergreen" yearly release of Marvel's most desired characters, in their most iconic look or maybe if they have a close second iconic look, but has there been thoughts to just having Hasbro do straight up re-releases of their non tentpole characters? Like a wave or two yearly that hit on some of the harder to find or more desired characters, to fill in some of these characters that newer collectors missed out on? Noting that would not take the place of any brand new waves we're getting, just extra distribution.

I know that with Marvel Universe Hasbro would throw a rerelease or two in new waves at times, and I think they did the same with Star Wars waves at some point in the past as well. I think it would make sense if they just did full waves but they didn't have to be "themed" waves.

Spyne98 01-03-2021 10:38 AM

Well, it only took a week but I was able to come up with my top 10 of 2020. They are:
1) War Machine- I love this figure. I keep messing around and posing him up. Silver Centurion Iron Man almost made the list too, but War Machine is just a little better to me, and I didn't want to use the same mold multiple times on this list.
2) Vintage Card Spider-Man- I'll admit that I wasn't going to buy him at first, but a friend of mine got one and that sold me. Such a fun figure!
3) Maverick- I'm a huge fan of the character and this figure looks perfect!
4) Retro Card Dr. Doom- While I love the Skrull Wave version, the colors on this on just pop so much more. I knew I needed this in my collection!
5) Kang- Just a solid figure!
6) Strong Guy- A much needed addition to my X-Factor team. He looks great with my 90's era X characters. That's what I grew up with.
7) Cosmic Ghost Rider- He's the newest character on my list. I liked the character from the get go, and to have a figure of him this fast (and with an awesome space cycle) is really cool.
8) Demogoblin- Again, growing up in the 90's, I always loved this design. He's another figure that I couldn't put down this year!
9) X-Man/Nate Grey- He's literally my 2nd favorite X-Men character ever. He might not be everyone's favorite figure or character, but I am very happy with him.
10) Vulture- He's one of the last Spier-Man villains that I wanted to see remaid. I love the wings and the alternate head. All around, a solid figure.

As for 2021 predictions- I think we'll see some more HoX/PoX X-Men stuff, probably a Betsy as Captain Britain, Kitty in her Red Queen outfit, and Cypher with Warlock arm. I think Kid Cable could happen soon too. I'm not sure what else to call, but that Villains wave sounds cool and I hope they do a few more like that in the future. It's a great way to round out bad guy teams.

JCarterVA 01-03-2021 12:54 PM

I am late on my top 10 for 2020.
10) Silver Centurion IM. I remember when IM #200 came out and West Coast Avengers.
9) Old Man Hawkeye
8)Logan & 7) Old Charles. Amazing detail on both figures
6) Storm & 5) Thunderbird set. Waited a long time for each of these figures.
4) Retro Spider-man
3) Dr. Doom both versions
2) Movie Wolverine in white tank top
1) Hellfire Club. Marvel knocked it out of the park with this set. Hope there is HFC #2 in the future we can all pre-order.
Honorable mention Green Goblin,Moon Knight and MJ and Gwen Stacy and BW movie and Walmart exclusive.

Harbinger 01-03-2021 01:31 PM

Dunno about top ten but heres my 10 faves of ‘20 in no particular order:
1. Nate Grey
2. Walgreens Moon Knight
3. Ironman 2020
4. Silver Centurion Ironman ( he got bumped to 4 because of the head/neck debacle )
5. Movie Deadpool
6. Sunspot
7. Blue and Orange Xmen Deadpool
8. Red Guardian Winter Soldier
9. Spymaster
10. Atmosphere Ironman

I totally forgot about Betsy's Uncanny X-men uniform. I would be down for it! That short lived era had some nice costumes. Jean and Storm's X-men Red looks would be would be nice to get too.

Just the stump. That's how he rocked it through most of AoA.

Trying to stay away from the movie stuff, but couldn't say no to a $5 Mystique. Picked up the other two for parts, as well.

StuartGreen2019 01-03-2021 10:15 PM

Happy 2021, everyone! As this is my first post of the new year, and because no one demanded it, here is my own list for my Top 10 favorite Marvel Legends figures of 2020:

10.) War Machine. It's kind of a cheat, since I don't own him (yet). But all those accessories and the sculpt of the figure are pretty darn impressive.
09.) Stan Lee. Again, it's a cheat since I don't own him. But look at him! The autographed shield of Captain America is pretty cool and the face sculpt reminds me of his Fox Kids "Spider-Man" animated series appearance.
08.) Retro Spider-Man. I would've preferred a full John Romita Sr. version of Spider-Man for this figure, with the classic spider chest emblem's legs sticking out to the sides for a change, as well as a Peter Parker alternate head, a "wavy-lines" spider-sense accessory and some open hands for wall-crawling poses. But on his own, this is a truly Amazing Spider-Man. He's just so much fun.
07.) Target Exclusive two-pack Storm. Again, I don't own her yet. But man, did Hasbro really deliver a great Storm figure. The lightning blast hands are a bummer, but I love the alternate head and cape that this figure has.
06.) Retro J. Jonah Jameson. Honestly, who expected to see Jolly Jonah get a Marvel Legends figure in 2020? I didn't expect to rank him so high, but when I got him in hand as a Christmas gift, I was truly impressed. I love the face sculpt and we really need more civilian figures like this.
05.) Retro Gwen Stacy. Having an alternate head of Mary Jane Watson is a nice touch, although having the Midtown High School textbook makes no sense continuity-wise since neither Gwen or Mary Jane met Peter till he was in college. Oh, well -- it's still a great civilian figure.
04.) Retro Electro. I know a lot of folks prefer the previous Marvel Legends figure of Electro, but I prefer this one. Electro is one of my Top 10 favorite Spider-Man villains and his classic suit with the "electrified starfish" mask look from the comics is my all-time favorite. Also, having alternate normal hands was very much appreciated. Now if only Marvel would resurrect Max Dillon in the Spider-Man comics...
03.) Retro Mysterio. He's one of the three Marvel Legends figures I got as a gift for Christmas and those brighter suit colors on this re-release really make this figure look better than the previous release, in my opinion. Now we just need a proper Quentin Beck alternate civilian head to put under the fishbowl.
02.) Retro Doctor Doom. Like Mysterio, I know a majority love the previous F.F. wave figure of Doctor Doom, but personally I prefer this version with the repainted suit colors. And having the collar to recreate first appearance Doctor Doom look is a nice bonus.
01.) Retro Rogue. I hate that she's currently impossible to find at Target and ridiculously high on Ebay, but I was lucky enough to get her as a Christmas present and she's easily my favorite Rogue figure to date. The Jim Lee X-Men suit for Rogue is my all-time favorite Rogue costume and the new repainted suit colors look so much better than the original release. I'm torn on whether to keep her in the box or take her out, as finding a second may be impossible for me.

Also, I cast my votes for my Top 10 Marvel Legends figures on The Fwoosh and this is my Top 10 list for Marvel Legends I hope Hasbro makes next:

- Dr. Robert Bruce Banner [classic lab coat]
- Captain America [John Byrne/scaly chainmail costume with smiling head]
- Cyclops [Jim Lee costume on Retro card with optic blast accessory]
- Doctor Octopus [John Romita Sr./green and orange costume on Retro card with bendable wire tentacles]
- Mary Jane Watson [first appearance]
- Ringmaster [classic/Maynard Tiboldt]
- Sabretooth [classic '70s/'80s costume]
- Sandman [classic costume on Retro card]
- Shocker [classic costume]
- Wasp [classic red-and-black costume]
- B.A.F. Armadillo

I know, we'll probably not see a Jim Lee Cyclops figure so soon after the Love Triangle version or a classic Mary Jane so soon after her alternate head for the Retro Gwen Stacy figure, but it never hurts to try, right? Also, I'd really love to see a new smiling Captain America figure since the current angry/constipated head sculpts don't appeal to me and having a classic Sandman on the Retro Spider-Man Toy Biz box art is too good to pass up, especially since he was forbidden to appear on the Fox Kids "Spider-Man" animated series. Also, I'm stunned we haven't gotten new classic figures for Wasp, Shocker and Sabretooth made yet from Hasbro.

I hope you all are having a great weekend and thanks for reading my nonsense. Stay safe, everyone.

Shit.....theyre all still full priced here. I would love a mystique and wraith. Walmarts were more barren than the sahara. I did find ghostbusters set for $11 each but someone jacked winstons stream. What complete fuckery.

I alternate. I've had him with the stump for a few months, then I displayed him with the claw coming through, but now it's back to being the stump.

I’ll buy those Apex figs at $7! All full price out here.

MeLikeJinx 01-04-2021 09:58 PM

Is Apex Legends even popular enough to get toys? I hate when I miss the sales though... one of my Walmarts got 3 cases of the Joe Fixit wave on a Sunday... I go back on Wednesday and I see $11 clearance tags and everything is gone... I mean every Legends is gone.
