Sometimes a custom is so obvious it's ridiculous... grab a spare Spider Woman, strip her paint off, find a nice Jean looking head, and you're about 80% of your way to a Dark Phoenix. =) no time to finish painting her till the weekend though. =(

I picked up a couple extra sets of the Ms. Marvel 3 pack just for that reason. Where did you get the Jean head?

I did notice that the name on the box isn't the same as the seller's eBay page. The name on their page is a man's name that starts with K and the package had the first initial as C and the same last name so I'm thinking it was the sellers wife who shipped it or something.

Still, I'm really mad.

Don't hesitate to seek a full refund. Show the pictures. Talk to the seller first, if he doesn't help, get ebay involved.

Ah man Bishop needs a serious modern redo. Whether it's his Alan Davis Uncanny X-Men look, the look Chris Bachalo gave him, or even Kris Anka's recent redesign, I can't wait for a new one. Doesn't look to likely, though!

The head is a cast of Hush Poison Ivy from DCD.

I'd be a bit more irritated if I were a 'movie-fig' collector (considering the smaller number of choices) like yourself...I'm hoping they fix it by the time that Banner-Hulk/Ultron/Vision 3pk comes out. Unlikely...

You could put a quick wash on the Hulk to make it a bit better...

You can also use the AOU Hulk's head on an Avengers Walmart Hulk body for neat results. No pinhead:)

I really like this idea, but I think I'll replace the Walmart-head with the Banner-head from the upcoming 'Banner-Hulk'...Thanks! You've solved a couple of my problems...do you do taxes also? ...it's that time of year..;)

I could see it happening. It's an easy remolded head with the same body. I'd like it!

Very good idea! I am curious how you did the emblem.

Well i do recall the next Hulk coming out, and not sure which wave it would be or if it was a special pack of them,it was supposed to be Bagley's Hulk. IF they did make the Professor Green hulk with the Mohawk and goatee, i would so jump on that in a second.

Great minds must think alike. I had this same idea. For the head, I like the angry look of the upcoming Thundra.

Dr Kain 04-15-2015 06:46 PM

Awe man, I wanted to cry. I went to a different Walmart that I normally do not go to tonight to look for Daredevil and I see their pegs are stocked with Spider-Man stuff. They had everybody EXCEPT Daredevil. :(

Anyway just some more fun:

I would also show the box that the seller put it in (fucking flat rate that's barely bigger than the legs and lower torso alone! WTF!) but im too lazy to blur our personal info out.

WOW I would totally be ticked at that and I would definitely get a refund. That thing is pretty much worthless now. 15 dollars shipping and they couldn't bother to put some wrap around it at least. They could've put this in a much better box with wrap and everything and still shipped it cheaper than 15 dollars. That's just plain laziness and greed right there.

Had to fork out quite a bit of cash, but I finally gave in and picked up the SDCC 2013 Thunderbolts box-set, which I have not regretted. All of the characters are fantastic.
Granted, Moonstone and Satana are pretty much the same figure, but they masked the similarities to give them original looks. Never bought the Ares wave Crossbones, so he's a welcome addition to my collection, and Ghost's original sculpt is bloody brilliant; love his translucent plastic and his hands sculpt give a dynamic look to his poses! As for Luke, what can I say. Apart from the odd chest-dint from the Hyperion mold, he's a perfect figure. Really happy with him.

Managed to pick up another loose Moonstone aswell, which will be perfect for a custom Emma Frost (never cared for the anorexic 2013 Hasbro redo).

Dr Kain 04-16-2015 06:38 AM

So is there a site I can go to to see pics of all of the Legends stuff? I'm sort of wanting to do a Spider-Man collection like I do with Batman and getting different eras, so I want to see what is out.

I didn't know they had a Luke Cage figure. When did he come out and is he easy to obtain?

So which is better, the movie Guardians figures or the comic versions? Just curious since it seems like Groot is only available as a movie version.

The version of Luke Cage above is from the SDCC set. You can probably find him on ebay, I don't think he goes for as much as the others in that set, I could be wrong.
I personally like the comic versions of the Guardians better, but they are all slowly looking more and more like the movie versions. So movie might be the best way to go if you don't want to spend a lot.

Also, Marvel News Reviews Images and more - MarvelousNews.com has a bunch of great databases on Marvel Legends. I don't know if it's complete, but there's a lot there.

Spyne98 04-16-2015 08:28 AM

Forgot all about the potential 5 pack of Guardians that's coming out. It's supposed to be comic styles of Groot, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Star Lord. No pictures yet but Hasbro talked about it during SDCC last summer.

I just checked eBay and I didn't see the SDCC version loose. You can buy the whole Thunderbolts set but they're a few hundred dollars. Unless you're really wanting him now, you may want to wait and see if he gets another release around the time of the Heroes for Hire Netflix series.

Like Spyne said, the comic Guardians now look like the movie versions for the most part. You can still buy a case from BBTS. If you want comic versions from the DnA run, there is only Star Lord, Rocket and a very underwhelming Drax. There is supposed to be a 5 pack coming out this year but we haven't heard anything about it since last summer.

I've been keeping an eye out for a Luke Cage on Ebay for a few months, and have only seen two so far. One went relatively cheap for £30, the other went on Sunday for almost £60. Hence why I decided bugger it, and bought the entire box-set. The set's still mighty expensive, but at least you get four other figures.

I was going to use Satana for a custom Monet figure, but she's actually pretty bad-ass. They're all really nice additions.

P.S. Kudos for sticking with the Toybiz Elektra! I prefer that figure too, one of the best Toybiz females imo, along with Phoenix.

I do prefer the Toybiz Electra over the Hasbro 2pack version. I actually have both, but the Hasbro one just doesn't say badass assassin to me. I would love to see them make a new one using the Moonstone body, but until them I'm good with the Toybiz one articulated butt cheeks and all :D
