I wonder when we'll get more X-men?

Depends. According to tatooinesandworm the next X-Men wave is slated for September, but given Hasbro there will likely be things like box sets, exclusives and the like announced in the interim. We know most of the waves for 2021, but those things released outside it are still largely unknown (outside a few like MODOK and Kro).

I forgot about Mecha-Hulk from the 2004 Hulk classics Toyline, and also Hulk-Killer and Big Heads from the Island of Adventures comic.
|
If they're gonna continue Hulk related reveals my biggest want is a new Hulkling. Hasbro needs to get on completing the Young Avengers.

@Hasbro
You answering me in a thoughtful manner makes me feel like a right proper jerk. Quote:
Although, I would be happy about a Banshee, Deathstike, Monet, and many other X-men despite being a bit burned out on them... |
I definitely understand the feeling and would also love a Monet, as well as the rest of the Gen X kids (hopefully they're on Hasbro's radar).

In regards to what's been said/revealed:
- I'll pass on the current Maestro. I'm sure they'll get around to the inevitable "classic" version of Maestro with the various trophy accessories, like Iron Man's helmet, Cap's shield and so on. For those who are excited for it, I hope you guys enjoy yours. - My main Hulk wants are basically anybody. Classic lab coat Dr. Bruce Banner would definitely be welcome, especially in 2022 for the Hulk's 60th anniversary. I'd love some civilian characters added if possible, like Betty Ross, General Ross and Rick Jones with his motorcycle. And of course, I think everyone wants a good classic Abomination. - I'd love Generation X figures. I didn't read the "Generation X" comics much, but I like looks/costumes of Banshee, White Queen, Jubilee, M, Chamber, Husk and Skin from that series. I was bummed when I found out the truth about Penance and that Mondo was a villain all along though. - Whenever we get a Toy Fair substitute, I'm hoping we'll see some Fan Channel stuff in addition to the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man, etc. waves plans. Hopefully the inevitable store exclusive figures will be much easier to find this year. @hasbroherofan - Okay, that Ryan Ting Tweet made me laugh. Thanks for sharing that post. |

Boom! Just got charged by Dorkside for the HOX/POX wave. Given their turnaround and I'm so close by, if the carrier is on point I shall have by end of week.
Woooosh - due to deliver tomorrow. If, you know, Fedex doesn't screw it up. And it's okay if they do if it's just by a day or two, considering this wasn't supposed to ship until April originally? It's definitely not like it'd be late |
Storm/warpath (thunderbird? I can never remember which is which) two pack is showing up at local targets for only $14. Not a bad deal.
|
Yep my order of the HOX case from Dorkside shipped as well.

In other deal news I got the grey Black Widow at Walmart over the weekend for a whole $2 (cue the kid from Better Off Dead). This price wasn't featured on the tags but it displayed on the in-aisle price checker and that's what it rang up for at checkout. |

I wonder which had a greater fall from grace... Retro white Storm or Walmart Grey Widow. Marvel Legends has like the craziest swings in collectible demand that I've ever seen.

In my estimation, a combination of factors lead to the phenomenon of a wildly fluctuating cost spectrum for Legends in the secondary market.
Of course participation in aficionado sites like the Ark drive interest playing a pivitol role in demand. These websites function as a 'meet-up' for fans of the industry - for better or worse. Hyping and influencing; as much a labor of love as they are an adjunct profit model, dependent on success of design/implementation/created culture/etc. Focusing in a bit closer, there are threads like this one that serve as secondary and tertiary (glorified) shopping guides replete with 'user-reviews', testimonial/word of mouth advertising in the form of amateur/unpaid photography and commentary, and sourcing tips. Then there's product scarcity (actual or perceived - deliberate or organically shortsighted) promoting 'panic-buying' and driving much of the obscene spending. I see this as being largely resultant of a consumer class that struggles with issues of immediate gratification. There is also FOMO and the drive many have internalized to be the 'first in line' to have something. Incessant marketing and teasers on social media are principal to feeding this hysteria, as well. This sort of insidious marketing has become a staple in video games, entertainment, toys and pretty much anything that appeals to the male 12-35 demographic. Finally, but not at all the least of which is everyone's favorite boogeyman - the scalper. The fear alone of this elusive mythic beast - sight-unseen - is enough to drive many batshit. There are other factors, I'm sure, but these satisfy my understanding of the inconsistencies of Legends secondary pricing. |
Do you guys think they held back any Black Widow stuff, or is the movie going to finally get released and there will be no product for it?

Got my HOX/POX - some initial thoughts and rankings
Moria - definitely my most wanted figure of this wave, and actually to me is one of the best of the single figures. The fact she can have two distinct looks doesn't hurt a bit. Omega Sentinel - Great figure even with wrong shade of skin on the alt head. She's probably better overall than Moria as a figure, but she wasn't nearly my most wanted so she gets the runner up slot Cyclops - love the design here, something different than the yellow/blue he usually gets. And he has the optic blast! Magneto - Granted he's mostly just a new color scheme on a very similar design, like Cyclops, but I really like this design. Tri-Sentinel - Okay, I haven't plugged the three heads in yet, they weren't going in easily, and I didn't want to break the coils. I don't have the Spid-r/ thing from a few years back, so this is a completely unique looking figure for my collection. Wolverine - Not that I needed another Wolverine, but he was a given. At least his design is unique. And he's a well made figure that really shows off his compactness. Xavier - Fairly basic body with a unique head. He's okay, definitely in line with the comic look, though nothing to really get too excited over Marvel Girl - knew this from the time i ordered it, but I cannot overstate how phoned in this figure is. And it really shows. Still, having the Hickman Jean is better than no Hickman Jean. Into the box they go - one day I'll have a space to show these characters. This also fills up slot 297-299 of totally unique characters in my Legends collection (if I add a handful of Select figures). I guess Firestar will be #300, that'll be a milestone. |
Any idea when more Marvel Legends figures will be revealed this month?
