@Dr Kain - I found the Red Skull on Amazon if you want him. He's here: https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-MVL-Le...d-games&sr=1-6

EDIT: Never mind, saw you found him. I'll leave the link in case anyone else has problems finding/pre-ordering the Red Skull figure.

And since you said you'll worry about Dormammu later, if anyone is looking for the Dormammu figure, he's here:
https://www.amazon.com/Marvel-F2797-...d-games&sr=1-8

@Captain Nash - I'm safe and warm, thanks for asking. My family and I are very lucky. We actually got a week's worth of supplies before the winter storm hit Texas. Three rooms started flooding at 3 a.m. in our home the other day, though thankfully nothing was water damaged and no bedrooms flooded. We lost water entirely at 5 a.m. and this is now day two we've been without water. Thankfully, we've got water bottles and we're getting groceries tomorrow. I just feel bad for everyone who has no power, heat and/or water that don't have the supplies my family and I do.

What's kinda sad is long-haired Arcade predates Eisenberg's Luthor. Avengers Arena came out from 2013 to 2014 and Eisenberg didn't play Lex until 2016 (they probably actually filmed it in 2015).

redfox 02-19-2021 03:45 PM

So glad to see that Lady Deathstrike is nothing less than absolute perfection. Simply stunning.

For the reveals today, I'm definitely liking the cosmic direction that the Walgreen's figures are going in. No interest in the Dark Surfer, but Nova and Quasar are both nice additions. Hoping we can get a classic Gamora reveal as the next exclusive.

Gonna pick-up Lady Deathstrike, Dormammu, Red Skull, Arcade, & the Hood from the Baddies wave. No need for another Doom or the Scientist Supreme. Trying to cut back a bit on the collection and both of those are a bit too niche. As for the Xemnu BAF, I loved his super disturbing appearance in Immortal Hulk but I'm probably going to pass. Really glad for everyone that has been wanting him, though. I really had it in my head we were going to get a comic Mephisto BAF. Alas, there's always next time.

As for the Excalibur blade, with Ryan's phrasing and the later this year release date, I feel like we are seeing a tease for the next Amazon exclusive team boxset.

Will worry about Dormammu later.

So we can make a custom of his zombieland character. :)

WallySparks 02-19-2021 05:06 PM

Is it just me or that The Hood action figure looks like a Bruce Campbell action figure where he stole Dr Strange's cape or something?

WallySparks 02-19-2021 05:09 PM

My thoughts about the new Marvel Legends

Lady Deathstrike and Arcade are X-Men characters. Theyll end up at Walmart where theyll be snatched up in like a day

The Hood will be a weird pegwarmer. That and be used or customizing cusoms or whatever

all whitey Dr Doom - eh he might hang around in stores

Red Skull - either casual or hardcore fans of Red Skull/Captain America comic book from decades ago will enjoy the Red Skull figure

Captain Nash 02-19-2021 05:48 PM

Sigh. I just went back through the website and started looking at all of the individual figures and just couldn't look at The Hood without busting out laughing. I removed him from my order. I'm sorry I just can't take him seriously. His face. The really lame poses the promo pictures show with him . Not putting that fault on the e-tailer I use, by any means, they are at the mercy of Hasbro's promo pictures and they just kill the desire for this figure. Maybe later, on sale or something. God. he's just the worst.

Only Deathstrike it is then! And I'm totally okay with that!

WallySparks 02-19-2021 06:18 PM

The Hood action figure is a bit weird and goofy in my opinion and I said that he reminds me of Bruce Campbell in a way. Pegwarmer for sure which i dont mind since non X-Men Marvel Legends figures dont get all bought out in one day every time. Heck. the Avengers Infinity War/endgame Thanos waves still pop up at Walmart stores that i go to

tierneygreen 02-19-2021 06:20 PM

Lady Deathstrike is the highlight of the wave for me, no doubt. Arcade is a close second (can't even explain why, I just love/hate that jerk). Dormammu and Red Skull knock two more classic villains of my will-buy-just-because-it-is-a-classic-villain list.

He does kind of remind me of Bruce Campbell too. I'm not sure why because the likeness isn't that similar but there it is. HIs expression. Sigh. It's like he's rage screaming because his hood doesn't fit right. I think MAYBE if they'd given him a static head I would have kept him on order. But you're right, he'll likely pegwarm hard and I'll probably walk in a store and get him at some point, but right now I definitely am not feeling it.

hasbroherofan 02-19-2021 06:35 PM

Not sure if it was mentioned but the non-BOTBG reveals also more or less confirm the recent Rektangular leaks. Civil Warrior was in his leak for the Shang-Chi wave and Hologram Iron Man was in the leak for the Iron Man wave (alongside Ironheart, who I feel Dan was strongly hinting at since he mentioned her by name at least twice).

oh cool, I did miss that. But I figured they were at least for one of the two given the theme of one and rumored line up of the other. I can see Hologram Iron Man being neat for a lot of people to have, it's a different concept at least.

sh002 02-19-2021 08:03 PM

Preordered the Villians earlier at Dorkside. I'm looking forward to Lady Deathstrike the most but I can't wait to put Red Skull with my Hydra Troopers. The Hasbro Pulse sale on them a while back worked out nicely.

A Lou Ferrigno Hulk figure was requested earlier. I'll also take a Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man figure.

I was playfully celebrating your wish fulfillment and issuing a mild callout considering that you hadn't chimed in on thread at that point. When I mentioned you 'joking', I wasn't referring to your fandom of Xemnu, I knew that was real - what non-Xemnu fan claims such an obscure want - I was referring to a suggestion I seem to remember you making about it being the BAF.

I can't remember that conversation but I'm glad it happened anyway. I legitimately thought the BAF would be Mephisto.

I'm not sure why I see Mephisto picked so often as BAF potential. I know he's capable of appearing as large as he wants given his powers and usually he's kind of tall but then he's also pretty lean. It just doesn't strike me as something that only a BAF could accomplish. Plus, we got figures like MCU Ebony Maw as regular releases so it seems like they could manage Mephisto in a similar manner.

In this specific instance I think many, including myself, assumed Mephisto would be the BAF to pay homage to the original Bring on the Bad Guys cover. This cover and some subsequent BOTBG covers generally depicted Mephisto as a larger-than-life threat compared to the other villains shown. Also, being the last of these characters without a Marvel Legends counterpart, it seemed to have been a perfect fit.

Hulkwummy 02-19-2021 10:09 PM

We got five out of seven villains made and/or updated, all that's left now are Mephisto and a bigger Classic Abomination.

StuartGreen2019 02-19-2021 10:36 PM

After looking at those covers, am I the only one who wants a Bring On The Bad Guys classic Green Goblin with white eyes, new "scaly" arms and legs, a new classic Goblin Glider and a new grinning pumpkin bomb?

Also, I feel this would've been a good way to do Dr. Doom - classic mask and belt, "Kirby crackle" energy effect, and an alternate Doombot head for army building?

Just a little harmless wondering here, but would you be strictly wanting a totally new figure sized up to meet/exceed the 80th ann. Hulk or would you be okay if they just took the video game Abomination and made some new parts to get him more in line with the comic look? Of course this would mean a new head, hands, and then probably also the crotch and upper legs. I'm a bit torn on where I'd fall with this question. Re-using the video game figure would certainly be easier and that's a great figure (in terms of articulation and size) so with the new comic based parts I'd be fine with such a release, but then I acknowledge that such a figure would have a bit of a modern design that might not appeal to everyone.

That does ring a bell, I remembered incorrectly then. In any event, enjoy Xemnu. As a Hulk and Defenders fan, I'm also happy to see it made.

Not to mention classic Marvel monster fan, am I right?

Yep, you're correct. We know a new Foom is on Haslab's radar. With Xemnu getting some love maybe there's a possibility to get a (properly sized) redraft of Groot, Goom, Rommbu, Moomba, and Tim boo Ba to name just a few of my craziest faves.

Captain Nash 02-20-2021 01:08 PM

I don't know who any of those are except Foom and Groot of course (though Goom sounds vaguely familiar), but the names make me want to research them. I assume they're all or mostly from the pre-Marvel superhero age? I bought a lot of those masterworks on Amazon/comixology's sale a while back at a really big discount, I should get them a read.

warmachine6 02-20-2021 01:22 PM

Ended up pre-ordering , Scientist Supereme, red skull and lady death strike
The majority of the reveals were okay. There was nothing mind blowing for me
I'm glad the Xemnu fans got a figure , i think thats the one ryan said " i never thought they'd do" I'm hoping we get a 2nd bring on the bad guys wave.

Yeah, pretty much. Tales to Astonish, Tales of Suspense, Amazing Fantasy, and Journey into Mystery featured many of these colorful monsters with legends like Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby serving up some of the creative talent. My experience with many of Marvel's monsters was through my fandom of the Hulk. Being a monster himself, the Hulk has encountered a lot of these forgotten characters. But beyond later Hulk crossovers, the monsters were pretty amazing and great pulp-comics well worth digging in the creates over.
