They'll be included in the Target exclusive re-release in a two pack with the white Vision in his actual show accurate colors. Better yet, it will be for the 1 year anniversary commemorating the MCU on Disney+ (with foil sticker and side-panel artwork by BossLogic!) for only 59.99, so be sure to get your pre-orders in now before the bots do! EXCELSIOR!

Loving what we can see of that Elizabeth Olsen sculpt! Wonder if it's asking too much to see it used again in a potential AoU Wanda & Pietro two-pack. I've heard certain rumors of a possible AoU Pietro release in the future, but it honestly makes absolutely no damn sense to release one and not the other.

I feel like I've waited a billion years for this to come out:

They're almost there with the entire Claremont run.

Maybe in the alleged "infinity" sub-line.

Nice pick up! I had to go with the Silva cover since the Romita was all sold out, but hoping I can pick it up before too long.

They're only 1 unreleased (Fall of the Mutants HC in Omni format) and 1 uncollected volume (no.5 194-209 plus a couple of annuals) from having Claremont's run from GSXM straight thru to Pre-XTinction Agenda in Omnibus format. I don't know why they didn't add XTinction to either end of Jim Lee v1 or beginning of v2. The entire "event" is only 9 issues and doesn't fit in any other X-related Onmibus. Wasted opportunity.

I'm a little disappointed at how low the book count is though. This Omnibus could have easily encompassed 176-209, so there's got to be something special as to why Volume 5 will only have like 15 or so issues in it.

I've got the Inferno book preordered and will do the same for the Prelude reprint when it comes out. Hopefully Fall of the Mutants is not too far behind.

I also don't get why they didn't put X-Tinction Agenda in the reprint of CC/JL Volume 1. Hell, if they had put it in Volume 2 I would have been willing to rebuy it.

V4 is actually on par with v1&2 in terms of size. I counted the actual X-Men issues between v4 and what's left for v5 and it's a 2 issue diff with v5 getting a second annual as well. It's the "extras" that are iffy. I'm not sure what else they can add to help the page count, but low page count onmis are not unheard of (Brubaker DD v1 among many) they just don't charge a retail price of $125 for them. So there's that.

Edit: oh and that reason for splitting the remaining issues into 2 volumes is simple...Money. None of these issues have had omni treatment before, so why get that money once when they can split and get it 2 times over. I've no real complaints there. It's sound business logic. As long as I get the Claremont stories I grew up on in glorious high quality hard cover volumes, I'm good.

Same on the Infernos (prelude is already up for preorder if you haven't seen it). Long wait to Sept for the prelude, however the Inferno volume will hopefully ship any day now. I got the variant on that one. But that also emphasizes the point of them not combining XTinction being a mistake. They combined Inferno with the non-mutant crossover titles to give that a new pg count of 1200+, so yeah...Marvel being Marvel.

At least a reprint FotM will be coming. Probably around the same time v5 gets announced, but the timing's just speculation on my part. Now that Marvel is aware omni collecting is a "thing" they'll be cashing in even more. Only a matter of time. I haven't bought single issue comics in 25 or so years but I've picked up 20+ omnis in the last few months and won't buy anything not in this format going forward. They're great for reading entire story runs.

Sorry all, the book forum gets no use but can stop derailing the toy talk now. :)

This! We have multiple face sculpts for her, female jackets, and now even multiple skirts already. She seems as if AoU Wanda would be a very easy and probably cheap figure to add to a two pack. I will get AoU Quicksilver either way but he is gonna look real lonely without his sister to go with him.

I guess you are right when compared to Volumes 2 and 3, but I'm also looking at my Excalibur and New Mutant Omnis that included nearly 40 issues

Not familiar with the Brubaker DD volume as I'm really only collecting Silver Age and Bronze Age for most of the material with the few exceptions being Spider-Man and X-Men (though, I stopped X-Men with Age of Apocalypse).

I might grab the modern Cap Omnis though.

I kind of wish I had grown up on these stories, but X-Men #1 from Lee was the first X-Men comic I ever read.

On the other hand, experience these stories for the first time now has made me truly appreciate them. They are the best comics I have ever read. I've actually decided that I'm going to hold off on reading V4 until I can read (or reread in the case of most of the run) the entire Claremont era in order rather than leap frogging.

Yeah, I am glad Marvel has been going all out for their OMnibuses. I wish DC would do the same as I'm still waiting for a Flash Bronze Age Volume 1, the Alan Moore run of Swamp Thing, that Jonah Hex Omnibus they advertised and then turned into an All-Star Western OHC. I just got the reprint of Flash by Geoff Johns Volume 2 so hopefully it won't take them too long to reprint Volume 3.

I stopped buying individual comics about 3-4 years ago when I got into the Omnibus game as I got spoiled thanks to the three Uncanny books, the Lee/Kirby Fantastic Four books, and then the Spider-Man ones.

Like you, this is my preferred way to read comics now. Hell, reading the entire Silver Age of Flash, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four in order with little to no breaks between books was just amazing all around. I also love that Marvel includes the fan letter pages in most of their older books. It lets me get a bit of insight on how fans reacted to these stories back then along with aspects of how the world was at the time.

The most disheartening letter of all was in a Spider-Man book from a soldier that talked about how much he loved the series and then a few issues later there was a letter informing Marvel that soldier was killed in action just before the issue with his letter came out. That was really sad, and yet, heart warming.

If you think you might like them, give them a try. I do have it but haven't opened it yet so I can't offer an opinion. Worse to worse, resell the book if it's not your thing. Get the first Cap volume now, though. It'll go oop soon and the price creep will begin. It's still cheap now and given how small it is - less than half the size of New Mutants omni - you don't want to over pay. Vol2 is due in August if you find a want to continue.

The best strategy. There's early plot threads that unravel throughout the long years of his run. I'm waiting on v5 before I even open v1 to start a read through. I've only just started Excalibur and the special at the beginning fills in a huge post-massacre gap for me. I rarely read New Mutants or Excalibur growing up as I was all in on the X-Men so these are - for the most part - all new reads for me as well.

It's a great business move. Not only are they cashing in on that nostalgia bug big time with people like me that are rediscovering the stories from childhood, I've also picked up a number of newer stories in omni format that I wouldn't have bothered trying to track down multiple TPBs for if I was even inclined to read them to begin with (SpiderGwen/Fem Wolverine, looking your way).

I'm enjoying everything they add to the onmi format. They're even starting to put art/patterns on the ad pages instead of leaving them just blank.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but the Target App has a 25% off One Toy offer expiring soon. Used it on the new Thanos!

^ That is one of those figs that I hope I never actually see at retail. LOL. If I see him I will have no choice but to buy him... I mean it is the definitive version of comic Thanos after all, but yet I have no real infinity for Thanos. He is just like Retro Kingpin... I only bought him because I saw him at Gamestop and he was just too cool looking to pass up on, but I don't really care about him either.

I did however just find a Legends Spider-Gwen at Gamestop... I remember people finding her in late November... I have been looking for her all this time and finally found her... she's awesome... amazing headsculpt... actually her and Miles are just both great figures, especially for their price range.

Amazon Deadpool looks like it’s getting ready to ship.

Well used. It's a GREAT figure.

Spyne98 03-11-2021 08:10 AM

I LOVE that new Thanos. He's perfect! Getting it with a discount is pretty awesome too. Congrats!
I was able to get some of the new X wave off Amazon, so I have 4 of the figures at home. I haven't opened them yet, but I am excited to do that this evening. I got Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops and the Omega Sentinel (who I actually got 2 of so I can display both looks). For some reason, Moira, Wolverine and Jean wouldn't ship until April, so I kept my original pre-orders on Pulse for them.
I'm happy that the Omega Sentinel comes with the BAF body so I can start connecting parts, rather than have a bunch of pieces laying around. I'll try to post a pic of two later tonight.

Vex 03-11-2021 10:06 AM

Anyone have any of the more modern Hasbro Wolverine figures they're looking to part with? I just bought two of the new Casting Cave heads and need more bucks for my Logans.

Starlord67 03-11-2021 08:42 PM

Picked up Thanos as my "for me" birthday present. Love this figure! I especially love it came with the snapping fingers....very cool.

MeLikeJinx 03-11-2021 08:56 PM

^ Happy B-day!

Had a good hunt day today... found Surfer at Walgreens and a lone Moira at Best Buy. Walgreens and Best Buy are the only stores left in my state that still sells Legends for $19.99. I think I can rest until Nova sightings start popping up now.
