My ideal pack would be:

Captain Britain (Brian Braddock classic with sword they teased)

Meggan (please do the green outfit!)

Nightcrawler (would love to see him partially translucent like the 3 3/4" figure. Maybe Mysterio's gas effect in purple)

Shadowcat (a must! Lockheed and Widget pack ins too)

Phoenix (Rachel Summers hound outfit. I want them to re-tool Psylocke's head effect to have the Phoenix bird head in the middle in red and yellow translucent plastic)

Pete Wisdom (new head, standard suit in black, hands with hot knife effect)

I could see them reusing the Bullseye knife throwing hand for Wisdom, just do it in translucent red

They could easily include X-Factor Wolfsbane in an Excalibur pack, she wore the same uniform when she joined after leaving X-Factor

If it is indeed an Excalibur set, I hope we get a few more ancillaries. Namely Kylun, Cerise, and NECROM. The Technet would be great, but the last three mentions were a stretch without adding 5-8 more peg warmers.

Good suggestions. I imagine it'll be the core 5 and one extra (maybe).

Off topic, everytime I see Necrom mentioned, I think of the DC Nekron, and then when I go to google Necrom I'm very unimpressed by comparison.

usernamedustin 03-28-2021 01:54 PM

I really, really hope it's a classic Excalibur team 5 or 6 pack.
Shadowcat, Meggan, Phoenix, and Captain Britain are necessary. I am fine with the Nightcrawler they already released, so I hope the fifth figure would be a way to get X-Factor Wolfsbane, but I would take Pete Wisdom or Cerise.

EDIT: I just looked at the product details. The mystery set is 8 x 33 x 38 cm; 1 Kilograms and the Alpha Flight set is 3 x 13 x 14.75 inches, 2.2 pounds. Converted, that is roughly 3.15 x 13 x 14.96 inches and 2.2 pounds.

If the product details are correct, the mystery box will be almost exactly the same size as the Alpha Flight box.

They would have to make new effect pieces for Nightcrawler, Mysterio's have spiders, snakes, and tentacles in them. It's still a neat idea.

MeLikeJinx 03-28-2021 02:18 PM

I think Excalibur is way more popular than Alpha Flight, so not gonna take the chance and wait for a sale if it does end up being an Amazon box set... will ask my brother to order it for me like the Magneto set. Although both the Alpha Flight and Magento sets ended up going on sale for much cheaper later on for those that waited.

Dr Kain 03-28-2021 03:26 PM

Man, I really hope we get something announced that I can look forward to as I could really use something positive in my life right now.

I did not know this! That is actually pretty cool. I only have a MCU Mysterio so I have never seen the piece in person and just assumed is was less detailed. If they ever make a Nightmare figure I would dig it if they reused it for him as a "causing nightmares in his wake" effect. If Hasbro did tool just a gaseous effect it could definitely get some reuse too!

Oh my guess is we'll see a Nightmare figure soon enough. // It may just not be a comic one. //

Honestly I haven't been out of the house enough the last three years and even more so the last 12 months to know the difference. I do look forward to be able to do that again once I get my shots. Soooooooon, all my friends have their shots - I'm having to wait a bit as I'm actually in shape and don't meet the obesity conditions. Sooooon though.

As an Excalibur fan it might be worth it to you to read the story arc with Necrom. While DC's Nekron is an impressive big bad, Necrom isn't terribly outclassed and may not even suffer a power deficit in the way of direct comparisons. Necrom was the sorcerer supreme of Merlyn's race of interdimensional super-mages and his mentor. In addition, Necrom had sufficient power to manipulate the Phoenix-force and forcibly ripped it from a previous host merging it with part of himself. In a pitched battle with Rachel at her peak of Phoenix power usage - around the period of time when she confronts Galactus - the two literally throw moons at one another and ignite planets. Ultimately, Necrom begins leeching the Phoenix out of Rachel with her barely managing to defeat him by pouring the Phoenix completely into him obliterating his corporeal form.

So yeah, he ain't Nekron...he's NECROM.

LOL

MCU John Walker is up for pre-order on Walmart

Vex 03-29-2021 11:00 AM

Posted this over on the John Walker thread, but I'm happy to see this figure. After the leaks last week I was worried we wouldn't see Falcon in his new red/white suit and would only get him as Cap. Target exclusive maybe? This show is hitting so many marks for me and, dare I say, I'm enjoying it even more than WandaVision... which was killer itself.

What Cable should I use for my X-men Collection.

It depends on what your X-Men collections consists of.

At this rate, it's our best shot. Hopefully, as a two-pack with VanCamp's Sharon Carter.

Nice.
Your collection looks heavily customized, so I think that the Yamaguchi Cable would fit in best. I think it would look and scale better.
I use the Jim Lee Cable because I have a heavily 90's X-Men collection, but I always thought he was a bit oversized.

Tri-Sentinel came out really good...and I had been wanting a second one since I built the first one, but the secondary market had pretty much priced me out. So imagine my surprise today when I wandered into a Walmart that had the entire HOX wave on clearance for 8 bucks a pop...:D. I'll be keeping the extra Moira and Omega... now just need to sell off the other 4 figures to sweeten the deal and bring that overhead down.

On another note...if there's a petition somewhere to tell Hasbro to get rid of these pinless joints...please point it out to me because Hasbro SUCKS at this. My Omega had a fused lower leg joint, which makes this the 4th time I've already had to deal with this issue. Whereas normally I could just pop the pins and clean for an easy fix, I'm now having to perform surgery at a level that would make James Andrews nod in approval. I understand the appeal of the pinless joints (as I own a number of imports myself) however if budget or time constraints (or a lack of giving a rip...) is gonna cause this issue to continue to resurface time and time again with no easy fix outside of an orthopedic procedure, develop a better way or please stop doing it altogether. It wasn't broke in the first place...there was no need to fix it.

Benn Roe 03-30-2021 05:45 AM

Man, Walmarts deciding to clearance shit is so arbitrary. The technical release date for this wave hasn't even hit yet. Either we mere mortals can't hope to comprehend the brilliance of their sales strategy of bringing in a hot new wave and then selling it a few weeks later for half what they paid for it, or they're run by idiots. I know virtually the entire toys department is a loss leader, but they could at least try to make money on it first.

Excalibur. Gotta be. I can't think of a comic multipack that is more wanted or needed at this point.

Just to chime in here, apologies if someone already said this, the set is in the system as "jungle 02". As much as I want Excalibur, part of me thinks this could have something to do with the savage land. Or maybe it's Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy (or Moon Girl even). Or outback era X-Men, but I suppose that's not really a jungle. I sincerely hope it's Excalibur, but who knows.

Benn Roe 03-30-2021 06:27 AM

The last 'jungle' set was burned movie Deadpool. 'Jungle' is just code for 'Amazon-exclusive'.
