^ Great X-men group shot!

I think two of the main problems with the House of X wave were the controversy over Omega Sentinel's hair/skin color and Marvel Girl's terrible boots. Seriously, I don't know what they were thinking with Jean's boots. The Strong Guy wave also didn't really have an A-lister to anchor it. Sure, we got a long-awaited fan favorite like Black Tom Cassidy, but we also got two Deadpools and lesser-known characters like Shiklah and Maverick. I do hope that the new X-Men waves give us some more A-listers, a few newer characters and some Retro re-releases of the X-Men Blue/X-Men Gold era suits.

Fwoosh did some digging and it looks like MCU Ironmonger/Obadiah Stane is the 6th set in the Infinity Wave. Also set 8 is rumored to be a store exclusive Avengers Endgame set
Quote:
Set 1 - IM1 - Mark III - F0184 Set 2 - Unknown (likely store exclusive) Set 3 - AVN2 - Age Of Ultron Quicksilver - F0186 Set 4 - THR1 - Odin - F0187 Set 5 - AVN4 - Endgame Fat Warrior Thor - F0188 Set 6 - IM1 - Iron Monger - F0218 - $69.99 Set 7 - THR3 - F0189 - $49.99 Set 8 - AV4 (likely store exclusive) Set 9 - IM3 (likely Amazon exclusive) Set 10 - AVN4 - Endgame Iron Man Mk.85 and Thanos - F0192 - $59.99 https://marvelousnews.com/252-28461?...6rCav08bAEwlWA |
^^^
Given the $70 price I think most people were already assuming it would be Iron Monger. |

Sell the Gloves to pair with a plethora of Celestial Helmets and Hasbro can theoretically do twice the sales

My two cents is that the waves largely didn’t deliver what fans want for X-Men characters, but again, apocryphal. I remember a lengthy conversation/ rant from my LCS owner, who skipped the AOA & HOX waves entirely, and asked me “where’s Banshee?” The AOA stuff seems to go over decently on the forums, but I seriously wonder how they sold well enough to justify another wave considering that they’re like fungus at every store I visit. From my experience it seems like AOA has limited appeal outside (and even within) hardcore collecting circles, and that HOX is too new for the figures to resonate. |
And here I had the opposite happen. Except for AoA Wolverine, stores couldn't keep the products in long enough to even consider clearancing them.
Even the new X-Wave is gone as quickly as it comes in. The only Marvel figures that have peg warmed for me in the last year have been the X-Men movie stuff and I guess the Storm/Thunderbird 2 pack, but that is because Hasbro thankfully actually made sure stores had enough product unlike with their GI Joe line. |

It seems like they might not be fond of old Russ

Lots of great little nuggets of info from these interviews. Here’s one from VeeBee over at the Fwoosh: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdSeRWZ_HYA

They strongly hint we're gonna get Grizzly on the new Ursa Major body.
When talking about redoing older figures, Ryan wants to make a new Toad at some point and eventually finish the classic Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Dwight talked about wanting to make Uatu and a new Mojo; Dan wants to redo Blob and Fin Fang Foom. Also the original plan for the Iron Man BAF was Crimson Dynamo, but they didn't want to make two versions of the character so close together. Titanium Man was their second choice, but then they found out Select was already making him. |

Grizzly sounds cool. I'm glad to hear the classic Brotherhood is on their radar. I'm hopeful we'll see Toad, Mastermind, Blob, Avalanche and/or Destiny at some point in the next year or two. I know Boog_ACBA was taking questions and was supposed to film an interview with the Marvel Legends team yesterday, but I have no idea when that video goes up. Are there any other usual YouTube channels taking questions and/or supposed to interview the Marvel Legends team that I forgot to check?

Im finding ALOT of HoX figures at my local Targets and Walmarts! I've only seen Jean once but the others, especially Omega Sentinel, seem to be plentiful.
Im hopeful the next wave after AOA II will include Banshee(either costume) and Outback PSYLOCKE. I'm also hoping we get the EXCALIBUR set soon. |

I would think that a Blob must be a fairly high priority for a BAF for a regular non themed X-Men wave. Mojo too, but Blob definitely is more in need of an update, which is odd since Mojo was Toybiz and Blob was dark days Hasbro. Just give us the BOEM II pack Hasbro. Mystique was a major pain for many to find, Destiny's never had a figure, Blob is needing a redo badly and Avalanche needs a new figure in his classic costume, not that weird outfit he had for X-Men classics....and we did just get classic (or close enough to count) Pyro last year. The writing's on the wall for this via either a set or singles. |
I would like to see Lyja and Sharon Ventura for the F4 retro Wave

Boog Nasty had an interview with a few little nuggets of information.
The Legends team has suggested accessory packs before but upper management has been resistant. However, Dwight mentioned that they've been having success with the army builders and flight stands from Pulse, and if that continues then doing Pulse accessory packs may be a possibility. He mentioned doing themed ones for the X-Men, Avengers and even villains. He asked about the pinless tech and Dwight said there won't be a complete changeover going forward because there are still hundreds of parts in the library that will be used for budgetary reasons. No plans as of right now for any future themed comic waves like House of X after AOA 2. Dwight, Dan and Ryan were asked which obscure character they'd like to make in Legends. Dwight's choice was Pretty Boy from the Reavers, Ryan's was Armor and Dan's was Blue Marvel and Isaiah Bradley. Asked about which Iron Man armors they'd like to make, Dwight's was House of M, Ryan's would be a redo of Extremis with modern proportions and engineering, and Dan's was a redeco of Modular Iron Man in the bright red and yellow used in the cartoon. They may do more Ultimate Riders figures but right now they're focused on Deluxe offerings instead. They also made it sound like Ultimate Rider Hawkeye isn't happening, but they may have been trying to throw off suspicion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCMpO5yWCao |

Watched Dan Who's interview and the big takeaway is there's gonna be a replacement for the BuckyCap body introduced soon.

I loved how Dan Who Reviews? actually asked about Retro Spider-Man figures, which none of the other video interviews I saw asked about. That was surprising to me, considering Spider-Man is one of Marvel's most popular characters and most of the video interviews went over the HasLab Fantastic Four tease, the Sentinel figure, revisiting or making new first-time M.C.U. figures, the new Iron Man wave, or all of the above. Dan listed off ten characters as possible Retro Spider-Man figure contenders: Lizard, Rhino, Hobgoblin, Sandman, Shocker, Venom, Carnage, Doc Ock, Aunt May and Chameleon, respectively. Dwight says he doesn't remember which is going in the regular wave and which will be Retro releases, but he did say that we'll be seeing one of those characters "in some format". So the leaked Retro Hobgoblin listing might indeed be real. Even though Sandman, Lizard, Rhino, Shocker, and Hobgoblin are characters I'd love to see Marvel Legends figures of sooner rather than later, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we get a Retro Doctor Octopus with bendable wire tentacles, either for 2021 or 2022. I'd be surprised if we didn't get Doc Ock on the Retro card eventually, since he's one of Spider-Man's most persistent and greatest foes (and my personal favorite Spider-Man villain).
