The team addressed the Omega Sentinel’s inaccurate alternate head in one of the interviews. What they said was that they didn’t know much about the character, and that they based the alternate head on a quick Google search. Glad to see they’re doing their research.

I liked watching the interviews, but I can see why the Legends team might not like Russ. I'll admit that his name is the first name that comes to mind when I want to watch a Legends review, but after a while, I can't watch anymore. I feel like he complains about the same thing over and over. Maybe it's just me.
I saw a few people mention Dan Who, I'll have to check his stuff out.
I would really like to know how these guys got the interviews. I would love to talk to them on my radio show, but I don't have the same audience that these YouTube guys have.

Yep. The fans come first.

Why do they even pretend to know what they are talking about?

I assume things like this are why Marvel keeps sending them boxes of comics.

Maybe they will include a full unmasked head for omega sentinel in a pack in with a future fig?

It would only come with a slightly repainted Omega Sentinel body so that you would have to buy another whole figure to get the part that should have came with the original release....(typed while looking directly at Cannonball).

Also, I did a quick google search of the Marvel Legends team. How come they don't look the same in photos? Do they put the videos through some sort of image filter before they broadcast? Danyun, Ryan Ting, and Dwight Stall.

Good lord, I figured it would be a couple of months from now at least.

Well, the addition of a walking stick for Hyde is another hallmark of the T-bolts version. Its presence also naturally denotes a clasped hand to hold it. I'd prefer two fists, but it isn't in the cards. I can also assume he'll have a bow tie. While not ideal (JRJR's Hyde is my iconic version), I'm happy to have the character in my collection even if it will be largely recycled from Fixit.

It's passing strange that this wave seems to be being released in a stealthy manner. Especially considering the dearth of reveals lamented by some last week...

Edit: maybe additional fists in an accessories pack along with Namor/Wonder Man/Cap painted fists from the mid-large Guardsman set? Provided they get the approval they mentioned...

The surfacing back-of-the-box images show that his right hand is a gripping hand for the cane and then his left hand is open with flexed fingers (similar to the alternate hands with the 80th Hulk). So it doesn't look like he'll have any fists as is, but since he appears to be using the same limbs as Joe Fixit it stand to reason then that someone could repaint Joe's fists to work for Hyde.

Ungh... thanks. A Mr. Hyde without even one fist. SMDH. This wave being released without fanfare is starting to make more sense.

Did Kingpin have fists? I wonder if they'd fit in the wrist sockets haha

Heh. Yeah, one with a pinky ring...

They'd track small anyway. After looking at pics of the BAF, it does appear that the arms and shoulders are larger than Kingpin's, similar to Fixit. Seeing it assembled I'm not totally unhappy. However, the meth-head/eyes made sillier and accentuated by the tight bowler hat and lack of fists make this a significant miss.

Hyde has always been an important villain for me since Spidey slapped him and Cobra around in an Amazing Spider-Man book illustrated by JRJR back in the 80s. Reading the book as a kid cemented a fandom of Hyde that has endured to this day. Even his later appearance in the Avengers:Under Siege story arc established the character as scary and intimidating even to other heavy-hitting villains. I've anticipated for years getting this fig, wanting to recapture in pics elements of how I perceived the fight with him Cobra and Spidey as a kid. However, THIS Hyde looks more like he should be tweaking in an alley, paranoid, scratching/picking his skin, and offering to turn uncomfortable and illicit favors for small amounts of money to get him his next fix...

That head has got to get replaced. It's not just the bowler...

There's pictures of the whole wave in hand on marvelous news. 4/25 is the supposed street date, but some Targets are putting them out early. Yet another problem with Target, distribution, and street dates.

TheBlueMarvel 04-14-2021 01:53 PM

@usernamedustin

Yeah, saw that exact photo before posting my last comments. But, thanks anyway. That head is not at all to my liking...

Thats what she said!

I agree...the head is not what i woulda pictured.

Captain Nash 04-14-2021 02:09 PM

4/25 street date, leaks and photos in stores and they still haven't officially revealed the full wave. I get they can't control leaks, I feel bad for the team to be honest, at this point they're probably more than ready to show it all officially and get it out there for preorder, but they have to go by what the bigwigs plans are. Lose/lose situation.

I have to say, I am not a fan of that Mr Hyde head. I'm used to seeing him with his hair all over the place, not neatened up like that. Plus, the version I like has a cape. I was considering the wave for him, but I think I'll pass.

warmachine6 04-14-2021 03:09 PM

I think that MR hyde BAF is the worst one i think we've ever had , the head sculpt is awful.

That's no kind of excuse at all. To quote a despicable character from cinema, "What we have here is a...failure to communicate." If the team at Hasbro didn't know much about her, I'm left to assume someone at Marvel dictated she be included in the wave. It's incumbent on either party to make sure the designers have adequate reference materials. Piss on both of them for laziness.

Agreed. I have little to no interest in this wave. However, if Hyde had been done right, I'd be more inclined to open the wallet.

He looks like a coked-out, roided-up Lucky Charms leprechaun. I have no clue what they were thinking with that headsculpt. I also really don’t get why they went with the modern look, like I’d be curious what the rationale was.

I applaud your “Cool Hand Luke” reference. It really does paint them negatively to admit that the gaff was out of sheer laziness. And you are right, I have no idea how no one at Marvel corrected the oversight. The lack of attention to detail really frustrates me, because it just makes it seem like they don’t care.

"they're always after me lucky charms!"

hasbroherofan 04-14-2021 04:48 PM

I can totally believe they had no idea who Omega Sentinel is given her obscurity. Especially since the emphasis was clearly on her current Powers of X design where she's completely race-neutral. Like someone above said, I would say it's on the Hasbro team but also on Marvel for not providing better references.

It's literally their job. Her name is Karima Shandapar. How lazy are they to google image search and then just go with the first image that caught their eye? I actually can't believe they honestly answered the question. Usually they dodge or give some generic response.

It just makes me angry again about all the pandering they do during the livestreams and how little they know about the Marvel Universe. It is their entire job. That's it. Theoretically these guys can get paid to read comics as source-material research. So lame that this is the best they can do.
