For webbing, you really can't beat the clear twist ties that they use in toy packaging. Save those up and web out.

Except none of the toys I buy these days come with it.

Other types of products beyond toys use clear ties, just grab them where ever you come across them.

Love that Annihilus! Makes me hope I'll stumble upon one of those Robotic Annihilus test shots from the FF movie line... Wishful thinking, I know :D

I seem to find them used with products that have clear cables... bought a see through usb cable from a big lots one time that had 3 clear ties holding it together in the package. Products with wiring involved tend to be a good source, mostly electronics stuff. Really, they pop up in various kinds of packages randomly, but obviously toys will always be one of the most likely places.

I actually saw that Annihilus roughly 4-5 years ago along with a Red King and Bi-beast. They all went for well over $500-$600 (if I remember correctly, Annihilus may have topped $1,000). I decided then that if I ever got another opportunity to buy one of them, I would pull out all of the stops...I was at least able to nab the one I wanted most: Bi-Beast. Being a considerable Hulk fan, I'd like to also get that Red King.

Yeah, but I haven't gotten any twist ties with anything I have bought since I stopped buying Transformers.

well the new F4 is coming out soon so we might get a F4 figure wave maybe .... i do not have interest in the movie but if comic figures then maybe, the F4 do seem over due toy wise

With Marvel/Disney pulling the FF comic to avoid giving any unintended publicity to the upcoming Fox movie (at least, by my logic), I don't see Hasbro going rogue and making toys for the flick. I hate to dash any hopes, but Marvel is a pretty important license for Hasbro and pissing them off would not make for good business. Maybe some of the other license holders like Hot Toys or Figma? Understand that I want FF figs (Silver Surfer) more than most, so I'm not happy with the lack of figs based on these characters...

yeah but fox own x-men as well so why not, we have had 2 waves from Hasbro and fox has the rights , not sure what the situation is with F4 movie rights wise be nice to see some new comic editions on new body molds that's not movie costume based , like the Ronan wave.

By the sounds of what you said, it seems marvel doesn't want anyone to go see the new F4 film

I'm just hoping they spread out the waves a bit if the Hulkbuster/Rhino waves do hit in July as rumored. 3 at one time would def put the hurt on many peoples wallet.

You never know, but I doubt it. If I had to hypothesize an answer, X-men might be a larger license among younger demographics prompting some flexibility on Marvel's part (hence the X-Legends we've received). Conflate that concept with the fact that Fox has done a good job with the X-men license (while falling flat on it's face with FF). Not to mention the fact that Hasbro has demonstrated consistent transparency regarding upcoming figures. Outside of SDCC exclusives, Hasbro has kept fans in the loop (a vehicle used to build anticipation IMO) for all impending releases and there hasn't been any sniff whatsoever of FF properties.

Honestly, I do believe that Marvel wants viewers not to watch the FF flick. Fox owns the rights in perpetuity (forever). From a business perspective, the only way Marvel might have a chance to regain the FF movie rights is if Fox finds it can't make any money on the license. I don't think reading the tea leaves on this matter requires a psychic. Marvel/Disney seem to be trying to strangle any potential profit and marketing related to FF (no comic, no toys, etc). To me, it makes sense (even if I don't like the results) to stymie Fox's FF profit margin forcing them to sell the rights back at a reasonable price point.

But don't let my 'opinion' keep you from dreaming...especially considering that your wants run parallel to my own and I hope that I'm wrong about all this...

If you're not lucking out to get them in packages, search "clear twist ties" on Amazon. You'll be amazed, trust me. =)

fair enough , sounds about right what you said , i do have a f4 set already [first movie] though just wanted to see better villains really or some way to sneak a new namor in , also thinking about other F4 fans as well. been trying to hunt the epic heroes dr.doom, also waiting on new x-men figure like the avenger wave then they will sell , ah x-men is next year me thinks

TheBlueMarvel 04-22-2015 08:52 AM

@warmachine6

I'm right there with you man. I love FF and want better versions of many of their figs...although I still love the old ones.

FF has a rich tapestry that always deserves love!

VonPooten 04-22-2015 09:51 AM

Marvel/Hasbro's reasoning behind X-Men is that the property has been a benchmark financially for around 35 years. While Fantastic Four is considered sacred, the comics have not been huge sellers for years. So while X-Men comics are still a large part of Marvel's current schedule, they've cancelled the current, not great selling Fantastic Four.

Same can be said for the figures I guess. Which is a huge shame, as I don't particularly like any of the older FF Marvel Legends and would kill for Future Foundation figures on the new bases.

I don't know about doombots, but good grief look at all the Skrull/Kree figures. I'm just trying to find 1 of each at this point.

I like the Ronan wave FF figures.

Nice pics.

As for twist ties, i had gotten a crap load of them with the newer DC collectibles. arkham city etc. also marvel select figures come with them as well.

You've got Doombots?? Well, I hope you've got enough to share with the rest of the forum!

TheBlueMarvel 04-22-2015 03:30 PM

@Spyne98
Yeah, Doombots are the bee's knees! :D

@Byrnes
Thanks, it took me some time to collect various FF figs that made sense together and looked good. I hear you regarding the mark-up...at the rate that the Skrulls/Kree are going for now, I wouldn't even bother with them due to the figs being way overpriced. Fortunately, I grabbed most of them before the madness (secondary market greed) set in...

@Black Arbor
When I win the lotto, I got your hook-up! As you can see, there are some movie figs I like! ;) Also, Blazing Saddles is only one of my favorite movies! :thumbs
