I would honestly love more civilian characters. They’re absolutely not viable for retail, but I’d take every silver & bronze age acquaintance of Peter Parker up to & including the likes of Phil Chang & Steve Hopkins. I think what’s great about a toyline like Marvel Legends is that we all have our completely batshit, pipe-dream sets of characters & figures that we want that are never ever getting made.
My dream SDCC boxset is a Daily Bugle, with diorama packaging like the last few SDCC sets, with figures of Robbie, Eddie Brock, Glory Grant, Betty Brant, & Ned Leeds. |
I'd love to have some more civilian characters or more heroes and villains in non-costume, every day cloths. Wouldn't have to be every character, just a 5-6 pack of Avengers, same for X-Men, prominent villains, and F4 four pack, ha that's actually a pack of the 4 I would buy!

Does anyone know if the Bucky head from the Infinity war 2 pack fits the 2014 winter soldier figure i wanna do a custom but if it doesn't fit why buy the IW Bucky figure

Also, the version of Cap I keep referring to is this which is why I don't want the same mold used for a third time, as it clearly wouldn't look right: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/a9/15...571fda9914.jpg A smiling head sculpt to go with an angry or neutral head, bright suit colors, the chainmail is much less prominent but still there. Bonus points if Hasbro includes straps in the shield accessories again. Like you said, they could make a new Cap figure later in 2021. Only Hasbro knows for sure. I still think they should've had more 80th anniversary plans for Cap. You also have a great point about civilian characters, @jwyss234. Certain civilian characters would sell better than others and a lot of folks don't know a lot of civilian characters. But folks would know some more of the supporting characters from current M.C.U. projects. People know who Foggy Nelson is, they know who General Ross is, and everyone who's a Raimiverse Spider-Man fan knows who J. Jonah Jameson, Joe "Robbie" Robertson and Betty Brant are, even if the latter two are minor supporting characters compared to characters like Aunt May and Mary Jane. That's why I suggested changeable parts to turn them into other characters or to pair them with a super-villain in a two-pack from a comic book storyline. I just wish that Toy Biz did something like that back in the day with a comic book sold with them based on one of their stories so that fans would see why the two-pack characters were chosen and how they knew each other from the comic books. I hope this post made things clearer. If I need to explain myself better, just let me know. Thanks for your reply, by the way. I hope you all have a wonderful day and stay safe, everyone. |

Heck, we could get a generic prison jumpsuit criminal with alternate heads as an army builder to break out of the Raft or Ravencroft or any of Marvel's maximum security prisons and I'd buy it. I'm not saying I want Hasbro to heavily focus on civilian characters, but I wouldn't be against adding a few more civilian characters here and there to my collection. |
Wow, seems like I walked into a few hot debates. I'll echo that I would love some more civilian characters, especially like Aunt May. I believe that Ultra Seven (not trying to call you out) said that they're not viable at retail and I agree with that. No matter how much denying and chest beating collectors do, these are still toys and they are still aimed at kids. As collectors, yes we're most likely going to want just about anyone that Hasbro puts out, but we are not the entire market. Throwing in a civilian character here and there is a chance that Hasbro can take, but I don't think we'll see a full wave. Maybe a box set exclusive somewhere, but that might be it.
With that said, I could see some really neat versions of civilian characters, most of which have already been mentioned. Personally, I'd love a human-to-reptile swappable parts Lizard figure. As for the Captain America anniversary, I can see why they might be focusing on Falcon Cap right now. As a long time comic fan, I enjoyed the stories where Sam was Cap. Maybe Hasbro could do a comic 2 pack with a classic Cap and an updated Falcon Cap (maybe with wings this time). I know he's a character who is in demand, and it sucks that he is sometimes a store exclusive, but there have been a large number of Captain America figures released (between comic and movie styles). At some point, it might seem like too much. I feel bad for people who haven't found that perfect Captain America figure yet, but I've come to a point where I feel like I have enough. I'll most likely eat my words when something even better is announced, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. |
Per a post on Fwoosh, Dorkside indicated the BOTBG wave is "inbound". I assume that means shipping to them but I could be wrong. at any rate way earlier than expected, which to me is always a good thing.

Might have to pick up the dragon if I find one at Target. Could always use more 6" scaled animals and beasts in my Legends collection.

My Katy figure arrived today and I am truly impressed with Hasbro's face printing. She already looked good from the press photos, but she is even better in-hand. I like all the accessories, including the mythical creature who has some iridescent under-wings that really adds to it's look. I do wish that we had a little context for this beast even if it was just a glimpse in a trailer. I assume it is a "good" character from its purposeful cute sculpting but really who knows?
Civilian characters are great! I haven't bought any yet but I would definitely buy a Darcey or FitzSimmons. The recent Moria, J.Jonah Jameson, and Gwen Stacey figures all looked great though and seemed to be well received so I expect we will see more somehow. Aunt May, General Ross (comic and MCU for both), Jarvis (comic) and Rick Jones would be some that would be fun to see and important enough to the story of Marvel to deserve to be made. I think there is a lot of potential in civilian identities too. Bruce Banner, Matt Murdock, and Curt Conners are three that to me stand out as having just as iconic civilian looks as they do alter-ego (and with the positive reception of alt maskless heads and the Peter Parker figure I again assume we will see more). I love the idea of an interchangeable Connors to Lizard figure. I want the same so much for Iceman. If they used his more modern pre-HoX look it would be easy too as its a shirt (make it a turtle neck to hide any neck changes) and shorts so they'd just need to change out forearms, lower legs and head. After Moria and Omega Sentinal, I really want to see Hasbro do more interchangeable parts. |
Picked up an extra Katy for kitbashing purposes, and oh boy...I might need another.
It looks great on the Classified Scarlett. The skin tone is off and it sits high, but size wise, it's perfect and is nothing that be fixed by painting a black collar onto the figure and dremeling the head a bit. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e4654c_c_d.jpg A tad bit small, but it's so nice to finally have an unmasked headsculpt that actually looks Korean. Would need only a tiny bit of dremeling for a better fit deeper on the neck. Katy's headsculpt might become exclusive to Silk going forward if it weren't for... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...467951_c_d.jpg ...it looking sooooo damn good on the MCU Colleen. While the skin tone is slightly off, it's tough to notice without really eyeballing it. It really makes me wish that Hasbro would take another stab at Jessica Henwick's headsculpt. The original head on Netflix Colleen is fine as is, but it does no justice to the incredibly beautiful Henwick. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...aa5cf8_c_d.jpg |
I also would love a Captain America wave.
It should include Lighter Blue 80th Cap Classic Falcon Sam Captain America with wings Child Bucky (with Rick Jones alternate head) Agent 13 in either green or purple Madame Hydra (Steranko inspired) Classic Zemo (Kirby inspired) BAF - Jack Kirby Arnim Zola |

Scourge of the underworld Vagabond Dman Nomad Battlestar Captain America with unmasked comic john walker head Baf hydra bot armor ( im sure theres a hydra robot from somewhere haha ) |
Characters I'd be down for in a Cap wave.
- Black suit Captain America with alternate John Walker head - Isaiah Bradley - Patriot - Baron Strucker - Miss America Chavez - Madame Hydra - D-Man - Golden Age Human Torch - Super-Adaptoid - Vermin I've already got my preferred comic Falcon in the Fixit wave, but I also wouldn't say no to a redone SamCap figure with actual wings this time. Or a WW2 Bucky. |
When it comes to a Cap wave, I'd personally love an updated Bucky, but like as a teen, maybe with a machine gun or 2.
I'd also love and original Zemo as well as the son, but in his original look, like the old secret wars figure. |
I can't say that I have that many wants for a Captain America wave. Most of the figures I would have wanted have been made or are about to come out. That being said, I think Dr. Kain's list looks pretty great. The only character that I could think to add would be Dum Dum Dugan.
The real thing that I would want from a new Captain America figure is an updated shield. I hate the C-clips that are used by the comic Legends. If the keep the same set up for the shield but change the C-clip to a handle, Cap could securely hold his shield in the grip hands they always include and it would still be able to peg into his back. @Dr. Kain Forgive my ignorance but what's the difference between a Jack Kirby Arnim Zola and the ROML Arnim Zola BAF from 2012? |
Found a lone AI IM today at Target... he is such an awesome figure with his regular IM head... the bright yellow colors pop so well on the shelf... he looks so good next to my Deluxe War Machine and my Wolf Cap and my 80th Hulk.

Stopped by Walmart this morning and was shocked to see a partial case of Shang-Chi figures and SW Bad Batch along with Aurra Sing.UPDATE I meant Ventress. Brain still on vacation mode. I have not seen that many figures at this Walmart in 2 years. I picked up Civil Warrior and Hunter and Crosshairs. I have some of the other Shang-Chi figures coming from Dorkside.
|
^ You mean Ventress right? I want both Ventress and Aurra Sing and all the other realistic Clone Wars characters, but finding Black Series is really hard where I am at. I've actually had better luck finding Classified Joes than finding any of the good SW stuff... it is so strange.
I also want to get Civil Warrior too, but Target is doing the full cases of one character thing. I honestly don't even know how I feel about that. I mean that might be cool if you get 8 of the most popular figure... but what happens when you get 8 of the same pegwarmer all at once. |
I have MODOK on preorder from Pulse, but I got an email yesterday saying he won't arrive until the end of May now. So I checked the Target website last night and I was able to order one for pickup.
I didn't cancel my preorder from Pulse, and I'm glad I didn't. Target just emailed me saying that had to cancel my order. Maybe I'll try to run out this weekend and see if I have any luck in person. |
All these Captain America wave lists and I can't believe no one has mentioned Diamondback yet.
|
Captain Nash is right, Diamondback would be a great addition and is long overdue for a Marvel Legends figure. If I were chosen to make a Captain America wave, these would be my picks:
- Isaiah Bradley Captain America (with alternate civilian head and shield with two straps inside instead of a c-clip) - Captain America (classic scaly chainmail costume, smiling head sculpt based on John Byrne's art, an alternate Steve Rogers head, and accessories of his triangular and round shields with two straps in each shield instead of c-clips) - U.S. Agent (with alternate civilian heads of Steve Rogers and John Walker, shield accessory with straps instead of c-clip, and an accessory of Mjolnir from when Steve lifted it as the Captain) - American Dream on the new female body mold (with two straps in her shield accessory) - Diamondback on the new female body mold - Classic Baron Helmut Zemo - Baron Blood - Build-A-Figure Armadillo If they made a second wave, I'd have figures for Commander Rogers, "Civil War" Cap with the 80th anniversary mold with pouches on the belt and a Steve Rogers alternate head, Sharon Carter, teenage Bucky with an alternate Rick Jones head, white suit Red Skull, classic Falcon and Madame Hydra. I'd have to think of who I'd want the second wave's Build-A-Figure to be, though. |

Madame Masque is badly in need of a redo though. Whatever that first one Hasbro put out was garbage... Quote:

@Trivial Psychic - I actually wrote Diamondback and it got auto-corrected to Mockingbird. I have no idea how the heck that happened. I can't believe I didn't correct that before I posted my reply. My post has been edited and the right name added in. Sorry about that.
After all, I try not to make too many spelling misteaks. ;) Just kidding. A new Marvel Legends figure of Madame Masque would be cool. A new Jack O'Lantern would also be cool for a Captain America wave or a Spider-Man wave, as it's been a few years since he got the Marvel Legends treatment. A new Falcon Cap is a must, and with wings this time, but I'd love to see a classic Falcon just as much at this point. |
