I'm good since I have that wire now.

BTW, is the Black Cat figure that came with the Hulk Goblin line any good? Or should I just wait for another eventual figure of her?

Marvel Legends on SALE??

Anyone know when the Marvel Legends Thanos BAF wave will be on sale at TRU, Target or KMART?

Three weeks ago, KMART had the Avengers wave 1 on sale for 15.99!!

Target just had a sale on ML's (and other Hasbro lines) so not for a while probably. Even that one was rare. Hard to say about the others. If an ad sale leaks out it's no more than a week in advance usually

This...very this. It could be a strong possibility that the book is being pulled maybe because it's not so good, or that people's tastes have changed and the FF unfortunately aren't as popular as people would like them to believe.

Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings or start a flame war, but the whole "Disney is the Devil/Illuminati/Hydra" thing and the notion that they would purposely self cannibalize their own products for the sake of hoping to ruin another company's box office draw is ridiculous, not to mention getting really old and stale.

Superhero movies now a days are essentially two hour commercials for comics and merchandise, and there's no quicker way to jump start a comic's dreary sales, than the appearance of a character in a movie or cartoon. What if the new FF movie is a hit...and in turns sparks new interest in Marvel's first family? Is Disney going to say..."Nope, Sorry...we got rid of the book because of Fox, so stop asking us to write more stories." I highly doubt it. I'd be almost willing to make a Vegas bet that FF's book would be revived in a heartbeat, and if the book was still on the shelves, I'm sure you would see an increase of sales for at least two or three months. The idea that they would cancel the comic simply because they are trying to take the steam out of Fox's sales is preposterous. Why shoot themselves in the foot like that if there is money to be made?

Comic books really don't play as big of a role in drawing people to the theaters to see a movie as people put emphasis on. I'm willing to bet, comic book or not, that 90% of the folks who will see FF at the theaters will have never even read a single issue of the comic, either golden age or current day (myself included,) and will be checking out the flick simply because it's yet another superhero flick, or they remember the FF from an episode of the Fox Spiderman cartoon as a kid.

And that's just the Fantastic Four, a team of heroes that in many ways has a niche' fanbase. There are far more mainstream characters out there that suffer the same fate. Hell...many people who love the Ninja Turtles never knew the comic was originally a super violent black and white graphic novel where the turtles routinely swore, smoked and consumed alcohol, and often eviscerated their foes savagely.

Let's stop blaming Disney for everything that's happening that we don't like. We're not sitting in on the board meetings, and until some of us get high ranking jobs within their infrastructure, or some sort of tell all press conference is held by Disney themselves, we really don't know why certain decisions are being made the way they are (even though we would like to pretend we do because we feel something we love is being slighted in some way.) At the end of the day, Disney is a corporation that sells and produces product (like most businesses,) and we can only speculate that it's a business decision due to poor sales or sagging interest, like any other business.

Anyways...that's my two cents. Sorry if I offended anyone...but I'm just tired of the "Disney is ruining Star Wars!" or "Disney is ruining Marvel!" because honestly, they are not. They own the properties, which are run by self governing parties (Lucasfilm/Marvel), and I highly doubt they have their fingers in everything as deeply the way we would like to believe.

As for the Black Cat figure, don't wait. She was easily one of the best figures that Hasbro put out last year.

It was in the parts bin broken at the neck (but hey , I have glue) and only 50 CENTS!!. I also got all these parts and accessories for less than 10$.

Actually Trivial, I was referring to how bad the movie was. Becuase the movie looks and sounds like absolute donkey poo.

You could very well be right. Honestly, my only investments in super-"anything" at moment are the figs and some TPB's. My opinion that the books suck has been the same for some 5-6yrs now. I don't even watch the super-flicks in the theaters; I view the phenomenon as the latest source of fad-entertainment, one that Hollywood will inevitably run dry. Nor do I really care about Marvel/Disney/DC/Time-Warner's collective fates as publishing companies.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry this stuff seems to vex you so and I'm glad you were able to get that off your chest. I find opining about these things entertaining and a distraction from life's stressors. I also find it more than "passing strange" (to borrow from Thor) that there have been no FF figs in quite some time...we haven't even seen many ancillary characters - what was the last Legend? Terrax?..Blastaar?..but more for his relation to Annihilation than FF. Forget the brouhaha regarding movie rights **which happens to be real and not just representative of fanboy conjecture, but written about by journalists -if you can consider bloggers to be such- and supported by comic-culture-media** , or even the ominous (to some) comic cancellations...that stuff aside, I think we can all agree that FF and its pantheon of characters constantly rank in polls of figs for which fans want service. Why not deliver? Why leave the cupboard bare when you know these figs would move and that you could make money?

There has to be some reason for what feels very much like a blackout regrading FF figs. I strongly doubt that it's simply because the books suck. Don't worry, this isn't a flame war. This is just a discussion. Where are the figs? It's not a matter of weak brand recognition (due to flagging FF sales)...we got Hellcat, Batroc, and Machine-Man recently. I'm not sure one can get any more obscure than those characters and FF figs could've/should've seen the light of day before them..even though I'm very happy with Aaron and Patsy!

ultraman zoffy 04-23-2015 08:47 AM

The only "FF" I'd care to see figures for nowadays is Allred's Future Foundation. =) Classic FF stuff has been done many times over already.

TheBlueMarvel 04-23-2015 08:59 AM

I also want Future Foundation FF. Most of the calls for FF figs - that I've seen - are for future foundation versions, but I also want SILVER SURFER. If we can have 10 Caps/Iromen/Wolvies, can't we also have a couple more Ben/Sue/Johnny/Reed(s)? In actuality, I could live without any new FF figures. I'm pretty well stocked-up on the figs I want, but many newer collectors may not feel the same...

Just give me a new SURFER with multiple hands...

I call BS on that. The pic isn't from a store, its on a plain white desk. Also the two packages in the background are empty.

That tomato pic from a few years back was also faked.

I don't think Disney is trying to ruin the properties they don't own the movie rights to (Xmen, Spiderman, FF) as much as they are promoting the characters that they do have the movie rights to (GOTG, Avengers). It just makes sense for them to sync up products and marketing with the movie properties that can generate a BILLION dollars for Disney/Marvel instead of FOX/SONY.
As for Black Cat, she is one of my favorite Marvel Legends figures. I can't wait for the Ant-Man legends to come out.

Dr Kain 04-23-2015 10:14 PM

Enter the Doc Ock Spider-Man. He is all right, but his paint apps kind of suck and the lack of anything beyond two sets of hands suck. I don't know anything about him though outside of being Ock, so maybe only makes two sets of hand motions in the comics.

From what I was told at a con regarding properties like FF and X-Men are as follows, Basically with marvel owning only half of the rights to those two(i.e. they have print, not film) but the full rights to others (see MCU), when it comes to profit, wouldn't you want to invest more so into something in which you get 100% profit instead of a percentage?
Therefore, thats why Marvel could never kill the X-Men franchise in the books because they make money, but they don't have to 'promote' the merry mutants in any sort of way outside comics. Now that applies to FF, but FF doesn't really sell, therefore it's a little easier to pull the plug on them.
What I do find very interesting, is Sue Richards has now been revealed as a Shield agent all along, IF Marvel gets back the rights, here is a way to incorporate her and the team into the MCU easily.

^ this exactly. These are big time corporations that are driven by profits. Why take 50 cents on the dollar when you can take 100 cents on the dollar. Sony was making money hand over fist with the first Spider-Man movie while marvel filed for bankruptcy. There are no meetings of evil satan worshipping entities saying "let's ruin Xmen men and FF ha ha ha" but there is an effort to push products that maximize profits.

Let's all just file this conspiracy away along with the classic "Scalpers got there first!" theory that so many collectors seem to perpetuate. =)
