Glad to hear that a Retro Shocker might be a Fan Channel exclusive. Just as long as it's not a Target or Walgreens exclusive, that's fine with me. I do hope we'll see another female figure or two for the Retro Spider-Man wave, though, as it's disappointing all the listings so far are male characters. Characters like classic Aunt May, first appearance clothes Mary Jane, Calypso, Stunner and Lady Octopus would all be welcome additions to my collection. Whether it's Retro Spider-Man or for another wave, I hope classic red costume Daredevil happens sooner than later, as I missed his previous figure. And I'll keep saying this till it happens: classic green-and-orange Doctor Octopus with bendable wire tentacles, please, Hasbro. Or they could even do the white Armani suit for the "Return of" and "Revenge of" Sinister Six storylines from the '90s.
I am also hoping for Hasbro to have more Marvel Legends re-dos of characters like Ms. Marvel, classic Power Man Luke Cage, Constrictor, Dr. Strange, Banshee, classic Falcon, classic orange costume Sabretooth, and classic red-and-white suit Angel. A new red-and-pink suit Scarlet Witch without metallic paint would be greatly appreciated too. Then again, a Jim Lee era figure of Cyclops with an optic blast, without the bomber jacket and easily available to find remains my #1 X-Men want. Also, since Hulk turns 60 next year, I hope that motivates Hasbro to make a Hulk wave and/or more Hulk characters like Doc Samson, orange-and-black suit Leader, Ringmaster, Tyrannus, Absorbing Man, classic She-Hulk, classic lab coat Bruce Banner and a Deluxe classic green savage Hulk (or any Hulk) rather than an umpteenth Build-A-Figure release would be appreciated too. Ah, well, back to bed. I hate migraines so much. |

Also...for the next villains wave I would like the BAF to be Over Mind. |

So I guess quite a few of us got our Lady Deathstrike and Scientist Supreme cancelled by Amazon. *ssholes. Think it's just thought of not completing Xemnu that left me fuming, but man that email pissed me off more than usual. Oh and they cancelled my Dormammu.

But I get what you're saying. Xemnu, while popular with some people, may have been more of a "hey, we have this mold, what else can we squeeze from it?" scenario. Now, as much as I love the AoA stuff, a classic Banshee is a must! I'd be happy with either a classic version (green and yellow) or a 90's/Gen X version (blue and yellow). If they did the classic look, I could see them including a decomposed head to match his look from a few the X books from a few years ago. |

As an in general, I’d certainly rather have a half-assed version of a character than none at all. Mold reuse was virtually the only way we would ever get Xemnu, so he’s good enough for me. |
@Ultra Seven
Agreed. About the AoA stuff, while I'm happy for the fans, there are many X-related characters that I'd rather see: Excalibur The Starjammers The Imperial Guard The Hellfire Club (remaining members) The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (remaining members) The Hellions The New Xmen Generation X OG X-Factor Madrox lead X-Factor Callisto Goblin Queen Belasco S'ym N'astirh N'garai Danger (a new one) Cassandra Nova Ahab Amanda Sefton Etc... Going back to the same well over and over gets boring fairly quickly. Even as a huge fan of the Annihilation arc, were Hasbro to milk the story in an abusive manner, even I would encourage that they move on. I like many pockets of the Marvel Universe and could run deep on any one of them, however, I also like the 616 on balance and appreciate variety. I know that many people don't collect that way and life's great for X-men and Venom fans, but some consideration for the plurality of interests out there would be nice. |

I have a question about the Shang Chi Movie Marvel legends wave. Is there supposed to be a random build a figure variant thing going on or something? I know its supposed to be Mr Hyde as the build a figure but one of the female characters of the Shang Chi movie Marvel Legends wave theres a build a figure torso variant where it looks like it goes to Abomination or something?
|
Sounds like swappers.

Katy (female, red dress, Target exclusive) comes with a large piece that we’re not entirely sure what it is. It’s not a BAF piece, just an accessory. The movie should provide an answer for us. |

ok thanks. I live in the Midwest and thats the firt time i saw a swap like that. the other build a figure pieces of Mr Hyde are with the other SHang Chi figures. Im surprised someone in Sioux Falls South Dakota would stoop that low by swapping a build a figure
torso piece but hey not my problem since I barely buy Marvel legends figures unless its an X-Men Marvel Legends. I have no need for any of the Shang Chi Movie figures anyway. Quote:

that Abomination torso piece though i think its from the Avenggers videogame Marvel Legends wave anyway

The Kitty Pryde Christmas story scared me as well. I was the same age as Kitty and kept thinking I'd panic if a cat got in my house...much less an 8 foot demon!! |
My first was a reprint of “Giant-Size X-Men” 1#. I read it the day I finished middle school. It ushered in an obsession with the X-Men that carried me through high school, which was a rough time for me. I think that’s why I’m so attached to that seventies & eighties era of X-Men. Which is why the list Blue Marvel presented looks perfect to me. An addendum being the classic New Mutants, with especial regard to Magma, as she’s never had an action figure.

Finally opened up my Villains wave today. Kind of underwhelmed. Deathstrike pleases, though she feels tiny, Dormammu getting double trigger finger hands was a headscratcher, and the Hood just feels goofy (though the cloak is really well sculpted.
The one that surprised me was Red Skull...the arms look a bit long, but he has the perfect set of hands, and the grinning portrait looks fantastic on Spider-Man Noir body for a modern look, replacing the Iron Skull head he previously had. |
Over on Twitter, Dan Yun posted a Tweet which reads: "June will be lighter than May... A recovery month... Until July - which will be very big".
I assume that's when we'll get to see the next big batch of reveals for the Marvel Legends figures during the second half of 2021, but we'll see. I'm eagerly awaiting when the next comic-based Marvel Legends figures will be revealed. We've got to be seeing something in regards to the Retro Fantastic Four figures, the second Age of Apocalypse wave, and the rumored second wave and/or Fan Channel releases of Retro Spider-Man sooner than later, right? |
Amazon just canceled my Dormammu preorder as well.
What is it with this one wave? I might just go ahead and cancel the rest at this point. |
Ultra Seven - Duh...how could I forget the New Mutants...smacks forehead.
Starlord-67 - We were both fortunate to begin our X-men experience with Byrne's artwork and Claremont's storytelling. I didn't start with #143, that was the first X-men book I bought. The family friend I mentioned gave me #138 and that was my actual first read. I had to dig in the crates for Claremont/Byrne back issues to fully enjoy the splendor. The Paul Smith/JrJr/Silvestri runs made me an X-men fan. In other developments, I got my Red Guardian 2pack whoot... |

Granted, that's because I don't care about MCU related figures, but still. |
I'm not a M.C.U. Legends buyer, but I am glad for M.C.U. toy collectors that they have so much to look forward to this year. That said, I really, REALLY want to see more comic book based Marvel Legends figures up soon, especially the Retro Spider-Man and other Retro Fantastic Four figures.
