From what I hear, the Olympics might need Superman to save them.

Lol, you're probably right...

Dr Kain 02-05-2014 07:49 PM

Why is that?

Iceman 02-05-2014 11:44 PM

Google it. The Russians are still at least a month behind on being ready for all the tourists and the games start this week. Hacking and censoring reporters communications, door handles not working (wtf?), no running water or unsafe running water, people being assigned to rooms that clearly aren't finished, etc.

Most of the events seem to be ready but Shawn White has already pulled out of one saying the course is unsafe. Wouldn't surprise me to see more things like that is all these reports are true.

Tiberius 02-05-2014 11:51 PM

These olypics will be interesting, to say the least.

trebleshot 02-06-2014 06:59 AM

In a train-wreck sort of way. ;)

Nice pics, Raf! I especially like that Red Son.

Thank you Sir!

Dr Kain 02-06-2014 07:12 AM

Good thing I don't give a damn about the olympics then.

Still, you would think Russia would have been more than ready for this since they would be making money off of it.

Yes, it's surprising that Russia as "powerful" as it seems will not be ready for such an important event like this.

They tripled their budget and all that money had to go somewhere. Probably gold bars hidden under mattresses.

CMIII 02-06-2014 01:38 PM

where did the Olympics talk come from?????

As you have said Trebshot the Total Heroes line should be treated seperatly they could use their own thread, considering that the only things that make them Fit with everything else in this Thread is the logo on the chest and site of creation on the Butt. Most of us won't be buying them as it is anyway.

Well one week till we find out how Mattel tells us "don't let the door hit you" any guesses as to what it will be? Possibilities Tooled unreleased figures, A wepons pack with the Scythe of Nekrom, repainted/rereleased figure.

Based off a pic that 3233rafael posted in this thread with DCUC figures in "honor" of the 2014 Winter Games (12 posts prior to this one).

When did I say they should be treated separately? In fact, I'm pretty sure my recent posts have explicitly stated that we group all 5- to 8"-scale DC toy lines together in this thread. We do not separate them by line, aesthetic or manufacturer.

Sure, separate threads are created when the discussion is newsworthy, but this is the general discussion thread for that scale range. If everyone thinks that the title's too confusing, we can always rename it to make it more obvious.

Maybe if you took your head out of the "Let's Trash Mattel" can occasionally, you would noticed someone posted pics in honor them and we were talking about it. Does it really matter? If we stay on topic, all we have is you trashing Mattel. As I said before, it is time to move on from the line. There is nothing left to talk about at this point in time.

In my opinion, nothing needs to be modified on this thread.

Tiberius 02-06-2014 04:29 PM

Ya, we don't want to have another riot of 2012 here.

trebleshot 02-07-2014 12:22 PM

Nor do we.

@3233rafael Glad to hear.

CMIII 02-07-2014 01:35 PM

Dr. Kain if theres nothing left to talk about then the Tread should be locked and allowed to fall off the forum. It's bad enough that The DCU Classics thread died at Mattel because the MOTU guys trolled everyone away.

I really haven't noticed a massive price increase... YET the most sought after are running 200$ and the peg warmers are 5$. Even the 2 packs are rangeing from 10$ - 170$. The 5 packs maxed aroud 75 - 100$. Only the 12 breaks the bank at 500$+

Iceman 02-07-2014 02:18 PM

Someone just can't let it go. I recommend you and Mattel go to therapy together.

You really think prices will skyrocket on more than a handful of figures? Often once a modern line dies prices drop and the market gets flooded because people sell off their collections and new collectors don't really get created for the line. Granted, this line is better and more articulated than past toy lines where the figures are even now quite cheap. Modern figures just aren't like old toys that are impossible to find and shouldn't be commanding high prices. Far too many have been produced and for the past 20 years people have bought toys to hold onto instead of place with, something unheard of in the 60`s or 70's. It's easy to find any DCUC figure in great condition and some day they won't be worth much. Artificially created demand like convention exclusives can only work for so long. One day people will stop buying and those selling will give the stuff away.
