Y'all should stop preordering from Amazon regardless. Why would you wanna give money to a company that treats employees so poorly? (Yes, I know most companies do, but Amazon does it so openly and flagrantly!)

Yeah, I don't like that at all. I don't get why I can't access just my orders that have been unfulfilled as now I have to go across multiple pages of stuff I already have.

Even if I didn't buy figures from Amazon, there are other items that I can't get anywhere else but them. Physical stores don't sell many Blu-Rays, 4K BDs, and DVDs anymore, and my options are to order from Amazon with free shipping or go to another site and pay shipping from a slower service. I'm impatient. I like instant gratification. Thus, I'm going to go with whatever option is going to save me money and get me my items quicker. Not to mention the exchange policy with Amazon is still the best since they will ship out a replacement without me having to give them the old one first.

Sadly, personal beliefs have no place when it comes to buying goods and services because if you boycott one company, you need to boycott them all. If I decided to not support Amazon, then I would also have to stop buying from Walmart and the like. Trust me, I would love to just waltz into Best Buy, Target, or someone else to buy every Blu-Ray I wanted and walk out with it like I was able to do a decade ago, but that's not how it works anymore.

Don't forget Nike & their slave factories in China. Cuz if any of ya'll buy Air Jordans, then you're just being hypocrites talking smack about other companies & how they treat their workers.

I’m unenthusiastic, but your mileage may vary. Still really not feeling the costume design.

I have a nagging feeling that these costumes are strictly prologue-based and will probably be ditched for their shown civilian garb throughout the
film, that is until the "final battle" where they'll get their new, cooler duds. Seems to be the trend.

Speaking of cooler duds...added an extra comic SW cape to Wanda. Of course it's not screen accurate, but I just love the addition of a cape to this character design.

It looks interesting to me. There is a definite lack of "BANG! ZOW!" in the trailer and it does smack more of a cerebral jaunt than what might be normally expected of an MCU movie. However, the introduction of the Eternals is quite an ambitious undertaking. Their tale is one that harkens back to Earth's origins and the very development of life in the 616, while simultaneously stretching into the future in a thread that encompasses the majesty of the cosmos in the form of the Celestials. That's a whole lot of exposition to pack into one flick and the scope is one that is unfamiliar to even many an initiated Marvel Comics fan.

I can already see some familiar and clever nods that speak to the fact that the Eternals were often confused with various gods throughout antiquity. The potential for focusing on this element of their background is meaningful because it opens the tapestry up to multicultural representation, an aspect that was always a part of the mythos with characters like Ajax and Legba. For those not familiar with the Eternals, they have always been a pretty big deal in the 616 scheme of things, as are many of Kirby's contributions. Essentially he made a race of cosmic gods in a vein quite similar to his earlier Fourth World concept for DC. I was asked on the thread awhile back why I seemed to create such a distinction between even omega level mutants and the Eternals. I did so because Marvel itself established them as being elevated and a cut above. For perspective, Thanos is a Titan and the Titans were a community of Eternals that left Earth eons ago and moved to the moon orbiting Jupiter. The Eternals are essentially cousins to Thanos sharing the same baseline abilities of god-like powers and physiology.

There are many more meticulously woven threads that touch on disparate pockets of the cosmic 616. Threads such as the Eternal's antagonistic genetic-relatives, the Deviants, and their relations to the Skrull and Dire-Wraiths. Welcome to cosmic Marvel, it can be a fascinating place if you are willing to be open minded and do some digging in the crates to follow offshoots and ancillary connections.

I’d say they’ll be showing figs for the next AoA wave. Everything up to AoA and D+ wave 2 has been revealed.

Hopefully we’ll see another figure from the retro FF wave.

To make matters a little weirder is that this definitely seems to be a Hasbro marketing theme/inside joke/thing (I'm not sure) as I recall Dan Yun encouraging "saving up your money" ahead of a reveal or two. This likely doesn't bother many, and might be noticed by even fewer, but imo this feels smarmy. Just reveal the shit, don't make tongue-cheek references that remind me about how much of my disposable income I'm wasting on your wares. This clumsy dime-store psychobabble might actually rouse me out my consumerist stupor making me wonder if Obadiah is worth $75 and an MCU Iron Monger armor for which I've no use.

Sing it from the mountaintop. Firstly, how dare these basic motherfuckers try to predict what I will spend money on, and secondly, to do so in such a tactless manner should be considered just cause for a really hard titty twister bestowed upon the responsible party. Like, “Hey assholes, if you survived covid (which was decidedly vanquished once and for all at some vague point within the last month judging by yhe reactions of morons) spend all your dough with us! You should have more money because there’s less people to buy presents for this year!” Go right straight to hell Hasbro, you ignoble schmendricks.

Dan Yun: you’re pushing it. Don’t make me up and bitchslap you during Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month bruh. Not cool.

I also can never forgive Hasbro for what they were going to do to Ted.

I agree because I worked there for like a minute last year until I could no longer stand to live with myself another moment if I didn’t storm out angrily and my wife just took a promotion so now she’s in like scientology. Buuuuuuuuut.. my life would be like 17% less convenient if I deleted the app, plus The Boys , so it’s kinda hard to boycott them. I’ll never preorder another Legend there though, the repellent pukes that they are. What in the actual shit is the point of preordering? Could someone please tell me?

Covering yourself because of the combination of Hasbro's notoriously bad product distribution and stores just not ordering enough?

I didn't preorder the Mr. Fixit wave and now have to pick up a Kang for $15~25 over MSRP. Same with the Stilt-Man wave and Hand Ninja. I just happened to be lucky and get the rest of the wave from two Targets during a buy 2 g1 free sale.

Captain Nash 05-24-2021 06:12 PM

Ha, my Amazon preorder for Deathstrike got cancelled, which I expected and is fine by me. I don't even know why I kept it on there, since I got Dorkside's first. I guess maybe thinking for a better sculpt, but honestly, the one I got is decent.

Feling sorry for all that preordered just through Amazon though and are getting cancelled :( Maybe the wave will be plentiful in stores.

Man I'd like it if my stores stocked the crap put of this wave and the Disney+ wave because they've barely had anything lately. I don't think a single store in my area got more than one case of the Stilt-Man wave and those moved fast so the Legends pegs have been mostly empty for months.

My point was to amazon cancellations. I’ll pay a few dollars extra elsewhere.

I mean I get that, and I don't wanna preach 'cuz lord knows I'm not perfect, but Amazon doesn't care if you begrudgingly or enthusiastically give them money :D I gladly trade a bit of convenience so as to not perpetuate a terrible work environment for others! P

Oh yay, now they can officially reveal the Eternals wave I don't give a damn about to continue their livestream nonsense on MCU crap I don't care about (no offense to anyone who collects MCU stuff).

I miss the days of real conventions where we got a mixture of everything that as up and coming.

StuartGreen2019 05-24-2021 10:59 PM

@Dr Kain - Don't worry, Dan Yun already said on Twitter there'll be something for comic book fans revealed before the end of May and the Fan First Thursday will likely show us something comic related. I read it might be the Age of Apocalypse Wave 2 reveal, but I'm hoping that we get some Retro Fantastic Four and Retro Spider-Man reveals instead.

I'm also surprised to read all of the Amazon pre-orders being cancelled. I'm glad I didn't pre-order any of the Bring On The Bad Guys figures when they first went up. I hope this doesn't become a regular problem.

I am also underwhelmed by the Eternals trailer. Also, what the heck could make them finally interfere when they didn't show up during/after Thanos' snap happened? Did the Eternals get erased and brought back too?

Probably the easy answer since they're such a small group of people. Either all of them snapped away or enough that the remainders were too scared/disorganized to help in any meaningful way.

hasbroherofan 05-24-2021 11:24 PM

Hit pay dirt at Target while getting some Special K last week. They had the whole wave except Vision.

I haven't watched anything Marvel since Infinity War, so I don't really know, but the MCU stories and these plots in general are usually pretty linear and easy to logic out. Based on what we know from Salma Hayek's brief soliloquizing stating they 'watched', 'guided', and 'helped' I'd guess that in the absence of the Avengers (also directly mentioned in the trailer) they are forced out of the shadows to protect/safeguard mankind from the threat of the Deviants - a threat directly related to them given that the Deviants are their opposite number and canonical antagonists. However, given your expressed indifference, maybe your question was a rhetorical one and you didn't/don't really care about the answer...

hasbroherofan 05-25-2021 12:43 AM

If I were a superhero I’d probably be tempted to sit back with a martini and say let the Avengers handle it. I play a little basketball but Steph Curry don’t need my help.

I’m reasonably certain it will be the AOA figures, but I agree that Spidey or FF would be preferable. It sucks because (as expressed) AOA is my least favorite sub-line ever (it’s the one corner of X-Men where there’s literally no character I would buy). Between it & the MCU stuff (which I’ve sorta burnt out on collecting), they haven’t really revealed anything I’ve wanted in a couple of months.

Also really starting to dread the possibility that Excalibur is an SDCC exclusive, which I just have a feeling about being true. Which would be extra frustrating following a reveal of a second AOA wave, because AOA Kitty Pryde hypothetically being easier to get ahold of than classic Shadowcat is bonkers to me. It would just be so strange to me to have two waves of that at mass retail, but not the Excalibur figures people have been asking after for years. Conversely, maybe I should leave the complaining to things that’ve actually happened.

I honestly think it'll be the Eternals wave. But maybe they'll reveal an AoA figure or 2 with the follow up of "more figures and preorder info coming soon". I'd be happy to be wrong.

MeLikeJinx 05-25-2021 06:41 AM

Wasn't Excalibur already teased though with the sword pic at the end of one of the panels... I doubt they would tease an SDCC exclusive like that.
