The timing with the trailer would be perfect for it to be the Eternals wave. Jay C at Marvelous News (who’s usually spot-on with these things) was adamant that we’ll see the AOA wave this week, which is why I’m expecting it.

Last year’s Hellfire Club set was teased with Shaw’s shoe during a panel a few months before it was announced. That said, I would be glad to be wrong.

There's like four of my favorite things in this photo.

BigBadToyStore has Kang still available at a better deal than I've seen anywhere else. With tax and shipping it should work out to slightly less than $29, assuming you don't put it in a pile of loot.

Boogieman4hire 05-25-2021 12:34 PM

I really need to watch the Eternals movie, not because I'm excited for it, but because I feel like the trailer didn't do much for me and that's the only way to know for sure whether it's actually good or a steaming hunk of crap. Going in so far there's only two things I care about from what I saw in the teaser. Salma Hayek because I'm always down for Satanico Pandemonium and Kit Harrington. I hope those Black Knight rumors are true. Other then that everything else was merely okay. Though one thing did really bug me. That whole line about helping humanity throughout time or something. Like they better not come out in the movie with some BS about them being responsible for the creation of Machu Picchu, Mesopotamia, the Giza pyramids or something else in that sense. When I was younger I always liked entertaining the idea that aliens came and helped build our ancient wonders, but honestly after taking anthropology and history classes I find it kind of insulting. It really does discredit people from the past and their brilliance in developing their civilizations just because we can't work out how they did it. Also pretty pretty racist. So unless they're doing an Atlantis thing, don't go there.

They said there will be something for comic fans this month. Given the Shang-Chi wave, the first half of the Disney+ wave and most of the Infinity Saga figures were revealed either on Pulse or Marvel.com rather than livestreams, I suspect the Eternals figures will be revealed the same way. Or, if on the livestream this week, they won't be the only "new" reveals.

That's exactly what they did with the Hellfire Club box set. The first tease was a random image of a buckled shoe.

StuartGreen2019 05-25-2021 01:32 PM

@TheBlueMarvel - Yeah, I'm indifferent, but I was legitimately curious. I guess being snapped and brought back would make the most sense. Otherwise, why would they stand by and just let half of the universe get wiped from existence for five years? I also haven't really watched a lot of the recent M.C.U. films, since I'm one of the vast minority who disliked most of the M.C.U. films over the past five years. I also hope that Shang-Chi doesn't mess up the Mandarin this time around. The only M.C.U. project I've legitimately loved and wanted more of was the Disney+ series "WandaVision", aside from the finale's lame Ralph Bohner reveal. After the Mandarin reveal backlash with 'Iron Man 3', I'm surprised Marvel thought it was a good idea to do a tease/fake-out so horrible for a second time.

@Ultra Seven - Yeah, I hope the Excalibur tease isn't a SDCC boxed set. I'd really love a new "classic" 616 universe Kitty Pryde figure of some kind. I'm keeping my expectations low with the Fan First Thursday, but I really, really, REALLY want some Spider-Man reveals. It was about this time last year we got to see the second half of the Retro Spider-Man wave reveals with Electro and Green Goblin, so I hope we'll see a fan channel Retro Spider-Man figure or two. I'm also hopeful for a non-translucent, fully flamed-on Human Torch, a completely visible Invisible Woman and a completely invisible Invisible Woman released as part of the Retro Fantastic Four main wave or as Fan Channel releases. I'd especially love more Fantastic Four villains, such as the Mole Man, Wizard, Trapster, Annihilus and Psycho-Man. A Puppet Master/Alicia Masters two-pack would be awesome too.

@hasbroherofan - I doubt the 'Eternals' reveal are the comic book based reveal that the Marvel Legends team plan to reveal since it's an M.C.U. wave. As I said, I'm keeping my expectations low for the Fan First Thursday reveals. I hope we get some cool comic reveals though.

Spoke to some people about the amz Lady Deathstrike cancellations.
Long story short there was a system error but the option to buy should be back up in the next couple of days Folded handsCrossed fingers. Til then she’s still available in some major fan retailers.
Sorry for any inconveniences

Never said it was. I was responding to the possibility of the movie wave being the Friday reveal.

Y’know, we can say what we will about the Legends team, but I really do appreciate stuff like this. That’s helpful, and it does show that they listen/ care. Solid PR/ customer service there.

Stu, of the Spidey stuff, I agree completely! All-time favorite character, hoping he gets more love this year. Classic Torch would be excellent, particularly if they went with the color scheme & lines that he was drawn with in the silver/ bronze age. I’d also love a more classic Byrne/ Kirby inspired Johnny Storm head to go with it, but I don’t see that happening. More FF villains would be great, with Annihilus & Paste Pot Pete being my top wants. Pete’s been a favorite of mine since I was a kid just on merit of how ridiculous he is, so it would be awesome to finally have him in figure form. My want of Mole Man is dependent on if we can get some Moloids to go with him. Alicia would be excellent, always down for more civilians, and I’ve always liked the character.

StuartGreen2019 05-25-2021 02:08 PM

@hasbroherofan - Oops, sorry about that. It'd pretty much have to be the Eternals wave for the M.C.U. reveal. Unless we're getting an unknown 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' wave we don't know about, what else could the movie wave reveal be?

@Ultra Seven - Yeah, the Hasbro team are all true gentlemen. It's nice to see them reply and help out with fans with posts like Mr. Yun's about the Lady Deathstrike figure.

MeLikeJinx 05-25-2021 04:03 PM

Wait. Wasn't the Hellfire Club a Pulse-con exclusive that was relatively easy to get if you a Pulse membership... or something like that. And they also made enough of the Hellfire Club sets for everyone who wanted one right?. To me SDCC exclusive means small set quantity and hard to get a hold off.

The Hellfire set was going to be SDCC exclusive but then 2020 happened. From now on it'd be nice if they continued to offer a healthy amount of their convention exclusives through pulse but we'll have to wait and see.

Mimicboy 05-25-2021 05:39 PM

With the promise of something comic related still to be announced I'm gonna guess tomorrow's event will consist of the retro Fantastic Four wave. Its been rumored, teased and has had some reveals already so it seems the most likely contender to me. Though I bet we get a few more random teases too.

I personally wish we could get more info about the random X-related things we have seen. We have had a glimpse of the sword Excalibur, reveals of 90s Domino and Cannonball, and a shirtless Wolverine. I would be disappointed due to cost and difficulty finding it but the sword does seem to be a likely indicator that Excalibur is a possibility for the SDCC exculsive. One of my top wants is a true blue Shadowcat! But if the 90's characters aren't a two pack, then where do they fit in and why reveal them so soon? And what is up with and why shirtless Wolverine?

Not too thrilled with Target right now. They had the entire MCU and Villains waves on the pegs, but naturally the three villains I went to buy were locked with a 6/1 date. -_-

The employee said this was the fifth time today this happened. You would think then they would have pulled the stock off the shelves, but apparently not.

Ran into this issue before when I worked there briefly almost a decade and a half ago now. Boiled down to the system saying to stock stuff and the only thing they have to stock having a street date. The scanners we used for stocking didn't have any street date information pop up.

Edit: Then there is the cycle of them taking the stuff back to be restocked because the people that know about the street date aren't the

Plus street dates on toys is just dumb anyway.

If anything, it should hvae been Major Bludd to have a street date, NOT the villains wave.

I hope the VP in charge of ML at Hasbro saw how much they could make on these Convention exclusives and makes the decision to all for pre-orders and make every single unit ordered. The Conventions do nothing for Hasbro's sales and Gross Margin. Big fat ZERO. They also do nothing for marketing and PR. Fan sites do a better job of reaching us. They should either make every Convention exclusive or do a HasLab. All the sets they did last year were huge hits for them. Limited editions for conventions are great for resellers and scalpers. Not for collectors.

lol Now amazon has canceled every Bad Guy wave preorder except Doom. I'm sure he'll follow soon. They even canceled a separate Maestro preorder.

Unless it's an amazon exclusive I'm done preordering from them. Now if only Hasbro could make sure to keep more stock of their own product so I can just preorder from them. Unfortunately they most likely don't want to undercut retail partners. But just let people preorder within a certain window for guaranteed order fulfillment instead of selling out of the most popular toys in the first day or so they go up.

Free shipping is nice but Pulse Premium needs a few more features.

Robb 05-26-2021 03:42 PM

Target shipped out my pre-orders for this wave this afternoon.

Nice, that means Pulse should have mine out by the end of the century.

I'm wonder if SPD is the "What If?" version of Spider-Man. I'm also curious as to who the other "Loki" series figure could be. Maybe we'll find out tomorrow with the teases/reveals for Fan First Thursday.

I'm hopeful we'll see some more "WandaVision" Marvel Legends figures one day. I'd still love a Halloween wave of Wanda, Vision, Agnes and Pietro, as well as a figure of Agatha Harkness.

Starlord67 05-26-2021 06:32 PM

Anyone have an extra HoX powered up Prof. X head? I don't want the figure just the head with the power rings on it. Will trade or buy it outright.
