Hell of a collection, dude.

I think he was responding to a sarcastic joke I made about aftermarket prices and El Dorado (the only DCUC figure that never seemed to sell in my area, even on clearance).

In fact, I think the joke I made was a response to something you posted earlier about catching up on older releases.

Thank you very much! Especially when it comes from you (that has 7,500 post, so you have seen it all) it means a lot to me!

Often once a modern line dies prices drop and the market gets flooded because people sell off their collections and new collectors don't really get created for the line. Granted, this line is better and more articulated than past toy lines where the figures are even now quite cheap. Modern figures just aren't like old toys that are impossible to find and shouldn't be commanding high prices. Far too many have been produced and for the past 20 years people have bought toys to hold onto instead of place with, something unheard of in the 60`s or 70's. It's easy to find any DCUC figure in great condition and some day they won't be worth much. Artificially created demand like convention exclusives can only work for so long. One day people will stop buying and those selling will give the stuff away.

I'm hoping this is the case - I would love to get my hands on a Kyle Rayner without taking out a second mortgage on a house I don't have :D

Speaking of collections, here is an updated look at mine:

Another great collection! DCUC was hard to come by in Canada... retailers started to carry wave 20... so funny.

Very nice! You have guts by removing the figs from the cards... I could never do that. When I open my sons toys it just hurts! Lol

shoot I want Masked version of Batman Beyond. I don't know how an action figures price jumps from $10 to $175 but I ended up going after the Unmasked to complete Despero and will go for an opened version

DC will never Die as long as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman still have comic books. Is there any other Property that has been around for 80 years??

Tiberius 02-07-2014 07:29 PM

Marvel is close, with Sub Mariner [Namor] debuting a month before Batman. Sure enough I don't think he was owned by Marvel at the time, but he is now so he's...old.

I remember seeing him at my LCS forever before I started buying these. When I wanted to get into the line he was gone the week before lol. I managed to get one loose from a collector here for like $20. High priced figures I think you are best sticking to shows and in-person type stuff or on forums like these when someone is selling off stuff. Eventually he will be cheap. I bought several blue lantern Kyle figures for customs. I still need to make a White Kyle.

Impressive collection!! You now got me jelly for having that catwoman figure that I've been desperately trying to get....

CMIII 02-08-2014 10:18 AM

Superman is close to the single longest running Characters 1938 - ?, I think only Vic Savage and Dick Tracey are older

Thank you... and good eye you have! Yes, that's a very cool figure. To me, the DC Superheroes Toy Line is very special because it was the one that started it all for the DC Universe Classics Toy Line. It seems to me that they learned from their mistakes (some figs have bulky legs, makes it hard to stand them up and even some have a longer leg) and corrected them on the DCUC line and made it a very successful line, but I must say that some of the best Batman figures I've seen come from the DC Superheroes Toy Line. I have not seen a better "belt" on a Batman figure than the ones that were made for this toy line in my opinion.

What can I say, I like a woman in a cat suit!! I've had her in my amazom wish list for a long time, sadly the price for this one figure is out of hand on evil bay, needless to say that i just spent $23.56 on the legacy arkham loose figure, where as i could have bought the white variant two pack at $13 on Amazon (some one shoot me).
You're righ about the utility belt, I have many batmen and the grey and blue stand out the most not only because of the belt but the soul of the boot, that and i think the one i have might be the only one with painted lips. Seriously looks like Bruce might have put on lip gloss.....?!?

Who would want this???? It looks like someone took a Potential figure threw some parts together and created a hunk of Junk.. I get the Superpowers Figs and Mr. Myx and the C&C redo of Kalibak but that Hal Jordan Riddler is a Slap in the face

Actually, if you know your action figure history, it's an amusing and cool little nod. It's not something that makes up for the cancellation, but if this were any other time, this would be something worth geeking over.

The original Super Powers Riddler was never released in the US, only in Latin America (I think), and it was just a half-assed recolor of the Hal Jordan Green Lantern: complete with the painted-over ring and weird green color fade on the body.

Again, nifty in its own right that they'd do that, and if this wasn't at the end of this whole mess, this would be really cool.

Boy Blunder 02-16-2014 02:13 PM

Also, I might get sacked for this, but I'm kind of liking those new Total Heroes reveals. Wonder Woman and Bizarro actually grabbed my eye, and of course there's Terry and Firestorm...

CMIII 02-16-2014 06:17 PM

Boy Blunder it's not even worth Sacking. I think by the reveal of the DCUC stuff the collectors are glad this is the end. They are charging 30$ each for 4 Repaints, a New Figure, and a Joke to get a Repaint C&C.

I'm right there with you. I smile actually loving the Total Heroes line! And I can't tell you how excited I am about WW!! If they spent money tooling a female body then you know they will reuse it! I was almost sure we wouldn't see any females in this liberal as it is such a kid focused line. Glad my hopes were realized!!

Oh and to make this an even better day for total heroes, I found Sinestro and Green Lantern today!!

Dr Kain 02-16-2014 11:00 PM

That is definitely NOT!! a $43 toy!!

Phantomcrow 02-17-2014 02:15 AM

I kinda like the Total Heroes for what they are. I might pick up a single if one really grabs me, but NO WAY am I starting over on the DC Universe. I stuck with DC Classics from beginning to end over many years of good and bad figures, and I will not fall down the rabbit hole again. I have yet to determine how I feel about the Super Powers line. I get an occasional DC Direct figure and what not, but now I will focus mostly on Marvel Legends and some stuff from NECA.
