Mattel wonders why they sink faster then the Titanic. They over charge for figures. By the same token I picked Amazing Spiderman Marvel Legends for $20 so thats the same Price the CIE would have been. I just hope there is some accessory other then a Body Part with Mr. Myx or it's way over priced. That Riddler Jordan would have been cool if they used a Riddler head not the Jordan Head right now it looks Like a production error

Would have defeated the purpose, as I already said.

Images of the Argentinian Riddler Super Powers figure showcasing that it was just a repaint of GL from top to bottom.

CMIII 02-17-2014 01:14 PM

I just cant see dropping 30$ on it

Not disagreeing with you there, just saying that for what it is, it needed to be exactly what it is, otherwise it wouldn't even have the oddity of history appeal.

CMIII 02-18-2014 01:35 AM

Most people wont get the point so the "History Appeal" will not be there. You could post 1000 reasons, but most DC fans are going to see it as a cheap insult by Mattel

I dunno, man. I got what they were going for right off the bat. You could be right, but you could also be wrong.

About people getting the reference, not about whether they're annoyed by it or not. We kinda already know that regardless of what they had to offer.

CMIII 02-18-2014 05:48 PM

I didn't get it until you posted a picture.

I think Had they offered Superpowers figures yet to be done might have gotten a better feedback

Rattrap Primal 03-01-2014 09:34 PM

Once could argue that the Total Heroes line is right now cheaper than the DCUC are at now (both the cost of a figure when the line was still in retail and how much Mattycollector charged online), of course, there are a few TH figures that would only be through Mtty's site, though hopefully for those who decide to go for the Total Heroes line, things would work out better.

Maybe it's for the best that DCUC is ending now, with the DC Universe rebooted, DC saying that even their history is invalid sometimes, maybe a new art style figure is needed to fit in with the newer (?) DC.

At least Marvel is still more or less intact with their history, and Transformers acknowledges all it's history, with both the pre Aligned Continuity (G1, G2, Beast Era, Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Live Action) and the Aligned Continuity (the Cybertron Games, Prime, Rescue Bots and whatever the next series will be) which borrows from the lines of old.

Rafael, can we please convince you to do your own collection thread? You have figures some of us don't even know exist! Just mind blowing.

Lamentations07, you're too kind, Thank you! I will definitely try to do my collection thread, I just need time (hopefully on my next vacation) to take pictures of everything. I don't know if you saw the Red Tornado I found last week. I'm still very exited about this one! Here's a pic just in case...

Man seems like yesterday the first batman and superman line were announced, what happened to this line?

CMIII 03-03-2014 05:48 PM

what happened I hope that was rehtorical... If not in the end it was Mismanagement by Mattel shook the confidence of buyers. They were ignorant of the DC Fan collectors and released what was Figureable over what a fan would want, and they shot themselves in the foot for future plans.

CMIII 03-07-2014 07:47 PM

Aquaman with Hook Figure

Wait a second the club doesn't go through and the figures only cost $3.00 more then they would have if it had and still less then if it had gone through.. Under the Club $20.00 + $2.50 subscription fee = $22.50 per figure. Without $23.00. Ok I'm not stupid and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express but something is wrong here how is only $0.50 going to make up the difference of not being a club. And even those who would have cherry picked only would have payed $1.00 less. And on top of everything else thats only $3.00 more then the Total Heroes Ultra figure http://www.mattycollector.com/DRHM/s...0#.UxqFToVc-bs which looks like a waste of Plastic

Dr Kain 03-07-2014 11:38 PM

That's odd... my BBTS proerder for Aquaman is gone (and Ice) and I cannot even find them on the site... what happened?

CMIII 03-08-2014 04:09 AM

After the club got cancelled the 2014 figures got pulled when the uncertainty of the figures appeared and they never put the them back up when Mattel announced they would release the 5

Oh really? That kind of sucks, but oh well. I'm only going to buy them from BBTS NOT Matty unless I go with one of those Chinese sellers.

CMIII 03-08-2014 01:44 PM

Dr. Kain They were up for about a week maybe 2 after the club got cancelled back in August (about the same amount of time as Mattel took getting refunds to people). I saw them but didn't think anything of it, I even contacted BBTS in October to ask if they would be posting them since in all likelyhood such places will be buying them out in Early Access.

DC has never officially said that the pre September 2011 universe is invalid there are numerous reasons that they cannot most notably they would lose rights to many of the characters including Superman (who has been in copyright issues since 1940). For that matter DC has used Pre 2011 event's in the New 52 (War of the Green Lanterns, Blackest Night, Killing Joke, and a Death in the Family). The only person who say the Pre 2011 universe is Invalid is Scott "MOTU Guru" Neitlich and that's because he has no connection to the DC Universe.

Did anyone else notice that Mattel bumped the Early access 24 hours now the DC Figures (at least in March) were opened on March 13 instead of 14. I guess we the DC subbers who didn't want to pony up 500$ for something they don't want need to wait to see they can't get Aquaman on Monday

Pre Orders up at BBTS

Iceman 03-13-2014 07:01 PM

I tried a few New 52 comics and couldn't get into them, save for Green Lantern. GL is mostly what I read in DC but I was branching out before Flashpoint kinda killed it. Green Lantern largely ignored the reboot and just keep on with their story. It was a fitting end to Geoff Johns' run to let him finish what he started. There are a few minor details that have been changed to line up with the New 52 but it doesn't come up much. There is still the matter of what the heck happened to Sodom Yat.

I did read the first 12 issues of New 52 Batman stuff and have kept up with that a little bit. I know early on they weren't told what they had to ignore and what they could keep from the old books so the writer said he was just writing as if it had all happened and he could use whatever he felt like.

Tiberius 03-13-2014 10:42 PM

Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Justice League Dark, and I, Vampire are great. Sadly 2 of those got canceled I think.

That is not even remotely what he meant. Rattrap Primal was talking about DC's comic continuity, and how they sometimes retcon things out of existence.

It has nothing to do with real life, it wouldn't do anything to the copyright on Superman, and Scott Neitlich has nothing to do with this conversation.

CMIII 03-14-2014 02:11 PM

I know Treb. I was only saying the only person who Declared pre 2011 as invalid makes products 90% that come from that pre era. So take it with a grain of salt....

I did read JL and GL basially I stopped after #21 of each because the DC direction since is a Joke and boring.

Only I Vampire was canceled. Swamp Thing and Animal Man have been crossing over constantly. JL Dark is still going strong.

CMIII 03-15-2014 05:50 AM

It was Justice League International, I, Vampire, Stormwatch, Voodoo, and Batwing that got cancelled mostly anything Jim Lee brought with him from Image Comics that bit the dust. While Grifter fit into DC's universe most of the others never found that round hole

Dr Kain 03-15-2014 07:34 AM

NOt to mention they showed how messy this reboot was by just dropping their Daemonite plots without ever actually finishing them.
