At least we can all ride out the apocalypse in the style of our choosing. I find that so lovely.

I wonder how many people are kicking themselves for passing on comic based Red Guardian a few yrs ago? He now goes for an avg of $55 on ebay. Gladiator is already pricey on the secondary market so you can imagine the price hike once Hasbro starts making a few other core members of the IG, As far as the Squadron Supreme goes, I have Hyperion, Speed Demon & Knighthawk as my 3 core memebers, hopefully we get a classic Dr Spectrum, Blue Eagle, Power Princess, Amphibian, Skymaster, Black Arrow, Skylark, Nuke & Tom Thumb. As for the IG, I want.. Classic Smasher, Starbolt, Fang, Neutron, Electron, Earthquake, just to name a few. The members of the Squadron & Guard are sorely lacking as are the classic Starjammers.

@Blue Marvel - great images of characters I would like to see as figures as well. I would love an Avengers line based on John Buscema's time on the book. |
Comic Red Guardian will be re-released I bet... it is just the fascinating natural cycle of Marvel Legends. Like how white Retro Storm was the most desired figure of that retro wave until she was stealth re-releaesd along with Gambit and Rogue and suddenly you could pick her up on clearance for $6.
I do wonder if any of the currently pegwarming AoA X-men will suddenly jump up in price once the 2nd AoA wave hits though... trying to guess what figures to buy and which to wait for the long game is really both fascinating and frustrating. It was so hard for me to hunt down every figure of the Strong Guy wave, but if I had waited I could have gotten every figure except Pirate Deadpool on clearance right now at Gamestop. |

Honestly, I do a lot of 'future-casting' when grabbing off-color/unexpected characters. I actually wanted Red Guardian, but I definitely grabbed Major Victory (Vance Astro) and Cottonmouth (please also give us Cornell Stokes) with a speculative eye down the road - not because of any deep connection to the characters, but, moreso, due to a want for the larger teams they represent. The back of the Red Guardian & Melina box repeats the same paragraph five times without translation. How'd that make it to the final product without anyone noticing?

J Hernandez has an outstanding figure review of Ultron & Modular IM, this video should put your mind at ease about the hgt scale of Ultron as he is a quarter inch taller than Ironman, hence in perfect scale. I had to pause the vid to just soak in the awesomeness of both figures, especially Ultron! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CeKy0dxzWw |

However, Ultron's height and size is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGgd3TnD9BA Jokes...but there are definitely things that could be improved. A little more height/stockiness (Ultron's a teen next to Thor), the torso ball peg is not to my liking (I get that they didn't want to break up the continuity of the sculpt, but that forward range is nonexistent), those hips (they certainly aren't of childbearing nature - straight C-section for Ultron), and it looks like they reused the fists from the Iron Monger wave which I wish they hadn't (those splayed hands aren't the greatest either). I'll take it and judge in hand, but I doubt this will make my 'best of' list. |
So I decided to read the first issue in the House of X/Powers of X book. I can't tell you which one it was from, House or Powers, since they don't seem to tell you, but I felt lost. I guess I need to read the 100 other stories that come before this to understand anything going on which is weird since it says the book is supposed to be issues 1-6 for each series. Yet, I feel like it's issue 50 or something.

Honestly the entire series feels like the writers binged Doctor Who, spent a lot of time on Tvtropes, and then took a bunch of drugs before coming up with the plot. Which is kinda par for the course when it comes to major X-men stories. At least we got some nice character designs and resulting toys from it. Now if only we could get some IvX figures, as I'd love a Storm and a Medusa from that storyline. Or even a Kamala from Attilan Rising. |

That said, it IS what finally got us a Marvel Legends Marvel Girl (half-assed as she is) & a Moira MacTaggert. So I suppose no harm no foul. |
