If anyone has been holding off on Katy from the Shang Chi movie, some Target stores are starting to put her on clearance. Target.com still has her for full price but I picked her up at a local Target for $6.89.

For that price I absolutely want her. What a shame though that the Targets and Wal-Marts never put anything on sale in my city.

Great business plan: release obscure characters that are unknown even to many longtime Marvel fans, let alone the general public, and then clearance ‘em out before what will likely be another half billion profit earning movie comes out. I've literally never heard anyone refer to Katy as a must-have figure. Just about everyone took the stance Thor Laserpunch did that releasing the entire wave so far ahead of the movie was a bad business decision.

If I were a betting man I'd say Firelord, Frankie Raye or Airwalker.

This is great for anyone that wanted these figs that they can now get ‘em on the cheap (though imho you’d probably be able to buy the entire wave for about $60 anyway, a la the Captain Marvel movie wave). But the kicker to me is that them jonks didn’t have a prayer at being successful due to the idiocy of both Hasbro and clueless big box buyers. Ramifications may not be immediately apparent, but, as an example, your LCBS that makes less than $2 profit per figure just got fucked for what could be a substantial amount of money to them, because who is gonna pay full price when they can get the same thing for $6 at Target. I imagine there may be a lesser effect on etailers like BBTS, EE, Dorkside, etc… though hopefully their buyers know the toy game enough to order appropriate quantities.

But whatever. It just amazes me that so-called professionals are this stupid.
