Agreed.

There are definite QC issues on some of the Retro 3.75 figures.
Hasbro should check up on the factory or perhaps switch factories.

I checked the number of backers for the Haslab Galactus, and it has 7,435 backers, so keep it up and we'll have this bad boy in all our Marvel Legends collections.

A bigger 48 inch figure may still be possible. Back when they were just selling the Sentinel, an interview with Dwight Stall had him say that if the Sentinel is successful, "Celestials are possible,"

I assume alternate Celestial heads?

I sincerely hope not. Save that for the Celestials whom can create far larger HasLab figures than even Galactus...

I'm hoping Galactus makes the goal, and goes over. I'd love to see the stretch goals on him.

Amazon themselves charging scalper prices. I didn't have that in my 2021 playbook but here we are.

Benn Roe 07-19-2021 05:01 PM

Amazon has always done that. They charge MSRP for preorders, and then lower their prices on slow sellers after release, but mark up anything that sells too fast. They don’t even make decisions about prices anymore. Everything is controlled by a very predictable algorithm. In fact, if you look at the price of an item right before you return it, then look at it again after returning it, you can often watch the price rise by a percent or two to absorb the return. Similarly, if you dig up a price trend graph for any of their items, they usually look like a heartbeat with super consistent short-duration price drops (like the Nimrod set today) to goose their sales. It’s all robo-economics.

En Sabah Nerd 07-19-2021 05:22 PM

Yeah this is bad, like I got my Wanda from Amazon for $19.99 and it wasn't a pre-order but somebody needs to set the system so the msrp is the cap on their direct offerings. This would be like walking into a Walmart and finding an exclusive there but then seeing it ring up for what ebay auctions are listing it at.

Nutimus Prime 07-19-2021 06:28 PM

Walmart does the same thing on their site. Even their own exclusives will price match to sellers on amazon so you'll see hugely inflated prices for items straight from Walmart lol.

Got Sam Captain America today. Decent figure just wish his wings weren't a BAF thing. Next just gotta get Wanda and Bucky

It’s definitely intentional. I don’t think Amazon’s algorithm makes a lot of mistakes. If they can’t replenish supply fast enough to keep up with demand, they price accordingly. Apparently $49.99 is what it takes to keep Wanda selling slowly enough to keep her from running out. She’s hard to find, so I definitely believe it, and Amazon sure isn’t gonna leave that money on the table. Selling her for $50 is how they sell the slow sellers for $9 without losing money. If Hasbro does a huge reprint, the price will drop.

Not what you were talking about when you posted this photo but imagine how epic it would be watching a Galactus battle with Celestials on film in the future of the MCU. Or you know even just a Galactus that isn't a big angry cloud.

Very epic. A leaked script exists on the Eternals. If real, then Galactus + Celestials scenes in the latter sequels are very possible!

For some reason I thought the Celestials were big enough to be their own galaxies...

Nimrod 07-20-2021 10:32 AM

$350-$400 for Sentinels & big G is a lot of cheddar to fork over for large sized action figs, a 48' Celestial would cost close to 1G imo & are they gonna do all 12 main Celestials or just the most iconic & well known ones? And what tiers would they offer for Celestials? I think after big G that Hasbro stick to making things such as the Fantasticar/Avengers Quinjet/X-Men Blackbird, Punisher Battle van, street dios. All these can be made for $300 or less IMO & have been very much in demand for yrs & would be more affordable to a majority of us.

Starlord67 07-20-2021 11:35 AM

There is nothing from Marvel Legends I want enough to spend $1000 on. I'm not invested in the Celestials as much as Master Mold and Galactus.

I'd like to see smaller scale figures like Giant man, Atlas and the Watcher done for a lower price point.

A quinjet or smaller Blackbird jet would be cool.

I'm curious if Galactus will be made with roughly 6000 more backers needed. They need to show off the unlockable tiers to sweeten the pot.

I agree with that. I think Fin Fang Foom or Devil Dinosaur could also work. But vehicles could definitely also be the way to go.

There has been nothing said nor reported that would preclude these items from being made. Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for those 6 custom Sentinels you were promoting after paint and shipping?

Dr Kain 07-20-2021 01:05 PM

I'd drop $1000 on an X-Mansion.
