I don't see any real improvement between the moonstone buck and the one they are using for Binary, plus the Moonstone has worse articulation. I'm happy to see it retired personally.

Hopefully Titania appearing in the She-Hulk D+ show will improve the chances of getting a comic version of the character.

The Moonstone body is awful, and I can’t figure out any reason people like it. The proportions and anatomy are bizarre, the articulation is dated, and it’s of dubious structural quality. It’s fair to want more variety in female sculpts, but can we please let that terrible Moonstone body go? It already ruined some of my Rogue toys, and I’d rather it not ruin any others.

Hmmmm, with the reveals from last week's fan event, do we dare get our hopes up for anything being shown tomorrow, Marvel Monday??

Dan said on Twitter that August was going to have some reveals too

Got D+ Bucky Barnes today and with him my Avengers Shelf is literally complete unless you count Vision and Okoye than I need them too

At this point unless it's Banshee or a new version of Hobgoblin, I just don't give a fuck. I'm done getting excited for a Marvel reveal only to be let down by it.

I don't know, man, I give up. Which of those is supposed to be the better one?

I'd say they'll show at least one figure. Apparently August 1st is Spiderman Day so perhaps tomorrow's reveal will be a retro Spiderman figure.

^ Ooo... you're still missing MCU Hulk though... I guess the Endgame BAF Smart Hulk is the best one... not really sure.

I don't really collect MCU figs except I bought Infinity War Black Widow on impulse... so if I ever see the upcoming Walmart exclusive Infinity War Cap I will get him, then get the Infinity War Bucky and Falcon 2 pack from Best Buy. Probably my fav MCU Avengers moment is when punished Cap, Falcon and Widow rescued Vision and Scarlet Witch in Infinity War... so that is the version of everyone I would be going for.

Best Buy Falcon & Bucky

Is this new or old? I don't remember them having an exclusive.

I don't care for the MCU Hulk figures they are too small and I generally hate what they did to him in endgame making him that selfie taking taco making dufus. I like the Diamond Select Hulk because its huge and angry and it resembles how hulk was in The Incredible Hulk movie.

You should check out the Rampaging Hulk Marvel Select figure! It's got great articulation and a classic Hulk look!

Nimrod 08-02-2021 10:11 AM

As of right now, with 5 months left in 21', I just have Herc, Tigra, Quasar & retro Sandman on my must get figs list. Waiting on pics of Excaliber & retro FF to see if I'm getting those as well.

Looks like today’s reveal was a Power Rangers/TMNT 2 pack.

If you specifically want an MCU Hulk, Diamond Select released Hulk figures from The Avengers and Avengers Age of Ultron. Personally, I like the AoU version the best.

They changed the name to Immortal Hulk by release, even though Rampaging was a better fit since the figure isn't Devil Hulk. Personally I think he's too big for Legends but for people who're already using a DST Hulk with their 6" figures he's pretty strictly the best comic Hulk they've ever done.

Is this the Marvel Monday reveal of August?

TheBlueMarvel 08-02-2021 02:35 PM

Happy for Nova, if not exactly surprised. What is surprising though is that Surfer wasn't also unveiled. Really, one Herald per tier is a bit frustrating.

Geez, she looks gorgeous. It’s a shame, I’ve been hoping for her since I started collecting (the classic heralds of Galactus were always favorites of mine), I’m truly disappointed she’ll only be available as a pack-in with a $400+ dollar figure I don’t have the space, money, or need for. If the threshold is reached for her to be produced, would anyone be willing to sell her to me?

Edit: I wish they’d go the route of the “Star Wars” HasLab figures, and give the incentive figures exclusive packaging/ deco/ accessories, versus making the characters/ figures entirely exclusive. Oh well.

En Sabah Nerd 08-02-2021 03:31 PM

They're still about 4000 backers off from the initial goal and then this is still another 2000 on top of that, for just the one herald. Speaking strictly about the comic character and not the toys now, it still bothers me that Marvel decided to make Frankie Raye's super name Nova. Nova (Richard Rider) debuted in 1976 and Frankie didn't become a herald until 6 years later in '82. At the time Rich wasn't Nova and his series had already ended so I get that Marvel had an unused name available that they probably wanted to keep in use but it can make conversations confusing and/or annoying when the name Nova is used without context.
