Figured (ha!) I should add some new pics:

I thought the original Guardian figure was pretty bland, and wanted something more in line with the "Seven Soldiers" miniseries costume. The vest and greaves are from and armored Kick-Ass figure. Thankfully the KA figures are only 10 bucks at my TRU.

I only count 19 and 20. And like the show, I most certainly don't even count that Adam West crap as anything more than knock off toys.

None of the Unlimited series made it past Wave 1 here, but by then, there was nothing Unlimited about them. I guess Limited to Batman wasn't marketable.

All right, at least we got a TDKR Batman before Mattel canned the lines even though I still want a Joker.

Been seeing a lot of the Total Heroes line, though thus far only at TRU.

Dr Kain 05-27-2014 04:48 PM

Total Heroes should be announced as canned once SDCC comes around.

Well, I've seen samples from China on Ebay of the upcoming Bizarro and Hush-colored Batman, so I think it's safe to assume Total Heroes with plod along for a bit longer, 'specially since they have that SDCC exclusive Cyborg. I don't think the line is gonna be the next DCUC though, since my local Toys R Us is charging 15(!) dollars a figure, no joke. Same price they're charging for the DC Multiverse figures. I dunno where they got those prices from, but whoever's responsible needs to be taken out back and hit with a sock full of woodscrews.

I agree 100% with Dr. Kain. They will finish the Year including the Ultra Figures but the line is toast. Here's why:
1: The Figures are not seeing enough Store coverage to be sustained. In my area ONLY Kmart has them and they have sat. Everytime I go down the Action figure Aisle I just shake my head.
2: The Ultra Figure did not sell as well as Mattel has pretended. Simply because they burned the people they wanted to buy them. Do not insult me then expect me to spend my money.
3: While Mattel says "You can't do this, You can't do that" they still do exactly what they say they can't (That is put a Product in the stores, Total Heroes and WWE). And their Competition does that and still sells their Product.
4: Poor customer service.

Toy$ R U$ is a specialty store this is why Kaybee sunk because Kmart, Walmart, and Target Undersold them

I think you hit that nail on the head pretty well. The only Total Heroes figures I've ever seen leave the shelves are Batman and Flash, and even then I'm pretty sure the stores around me haven't had to reorder since their first shipment 'cause they never fully sold out. I really hope, somehow, some way, in some miracle-like manner, that they bring back DCUC once the Total Heroes line is kaput. Wishful thinking, I know, but even if they did a quarterly release system like they're doing this year, it'd be better than nothing. They know the customer base is there, they just have to give the people what they want!

what about TH Bizarro? He is/was scheduled for july release
too bad they went from 8.99 to 14.99 in less than 2 months
no way they can sell semi articulated figures at that price...when I go to kmart or the few walmarts that actually have them they are 9.99 but none of the stores have restocked except Tu and that was wave 1 restock

The problem is they have pushed away a portion of the customer Base by telling us what we want, When we say we want this, they pull the no you want this instead.

Like how we said "hey, Mattel, we want Red Hood!" and they said, "sure thing, here ya go!"

YOU HAD ONE JOB, MATTEL!!!!

Well, when ML started leaving their crappy Batman line (with tons of stupid variants) in the dust, at least they jumped on the super-articulated bandwagon, so hopefully they'll actually listen to what fans want by, oh, let's say, 2023.

Please don't do this. This is like those kids at the beginning of the XBox era who used to complain about 'Micro$oft,' and kinda completely invalidates what they say because of how 'kewl' and 'edgy' and 'stick-it-to-the-man' their 'wordplay' is. Don't be that guy.

CMIII 05-28-2014 10:10 AM

I've been doing that for some time I never knew people were doing that to Microsoft

Boy Blunder 05-28-2014 10:23 AM

That's been a thing for years, and the only people who used it were people who were just trying to prove some nebulous 'point' that Microsoft and/or XBox was an inferior product. The 'dollar signs' thing doesn't help support any points whatsoever, and just looks... well, lame, amigo.

trebleshot 05-28-2014 11:49 AM

That actually started long before the XBox came around and sadly, I don't see it going away any time soon. Each successive generation rediscovers it and the cycle starts anew. Same thing with "Hasblow".

I've seen them at TRU, Target and Walmart. At all three chains they tend to sell through on a fairly regular basis, even at $15 a pop. Based on that, I'd wager they will last at least another year at retail.

But I guess we will know for certain at SDCC 2014.

Black Arbor 05-28-2014 01:12 PM

Just got my Monsieur Mallah and Brain in the mail, what a cool figure! Now I just gotta get me some Doom Patrol figures..

Wouldn't be surprised. My closest TRU cycles through cases pretty regularly, at least that's what it looks like to me - the stock doesn't seem to stay static between trips.

Impossible.... While yes Beast Boy, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl are around. Vox, Chief, Mento, and Bumblebee have not been made, and at Mattels current status they never will be (Look around I am sure Customs of Vox, Chief, and Mento will be made by one of us)

But Mattel needed the money that would have gone to Doomsday to make a Baby Skeletor toy.

And don't forget they made Robot Man! Personally though, I hate the Chief. He's a jerk in a lot of the comics, and he just feels like a knockoff Professor X with hair (not gonna get into the who came first: Doom Patrol or X-Men, haha) I'm hoping to find a cheap Beast Boy somewheres, and a Robot Man, but for Negative Man and Mento (even though Mento looks like an idiot) I'm gonna cobble my own together. I much prefer their purple and black outfits, so I'm gonna be on the lookout for some Black manta bodies. :D

Dr Kain 05-29-2014 02:48 PM

Meh, the Doom Patrol was originally Negative Man, Robot Man, and Elasti Girl, so that is all we need.

CMIII 05-29-2014 05:01 PM

The Doom Patrol was a Knock off of the X-Men. Look at the Elements, You have the Wheel Chair bound Leader (Prof. X), the Guy who can use the shadows to move (Nightcrawler), the Jerk leader (Cyclops), the Girl with an Amazing ability (Jean Grey, Storm, and Rogue), the Guy with abilities of An Animal (Beast and Wolverine). Honestly I wanted Vox and Bumblebee and figure they were part of this years CIE plan and figure they were going to be in a Pack together Bumblebee as a Minifigure

The Doom Patrol actually debuted in comics three months before the X-men. The Doom Patrol in June 1963. The X-men in September 1963.

If the Doom Patrol was a knock off of any team, it was probably the Fantastic Four.
