There is still a chance that rumored Excalibur set could be the SDCC/Hascon set since the Wolverine 5 pack ended up being the Amazon exclusive.

Need a Collector What If deluxe figure!

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...0305b5d7_b.jpg I picked up the Scientist Supreme and Hood to finish building Xemnu today. I'd like to give a big public thanks to member Sataninjaku for sending me the chest and right leg. Since I was only two pieces shy of finishing Xemnu I figured I'd scoop them up and rationalize it as $10 each for the Scientist and the Hood and then $20 for Xemnu. I like the colors on Scientist Supreme and generally he's just got a pretty sharp look. The tech-pad accessory is neat, I like that both sides of the screen are sculpted and they're even different. He pairs well with MODOK but I don't have any AIM goons for them to command, I might see to that at some point in the future. Hood on his own is a fairly disappointing figure (beyond his ability to act as a soon-to-be victim of Xemnu who is vewy hungwy) but his pistols are nice and his body can be head-swapped into a solid background civilian. His cloak is amusingly too big for him, meaning that if you have him wearing it correctly then he can't stand upright because it goes down past his feet. Finally there's Xemnu and while not flawless I really like how he turned out overall. My main gripe, as I've said before I even had him, is that they made his cyber-tummy a belt-piece instead of a new lower torso. I get that this method was way cheaper and easier but it makes him look like he's wearing a belt and it restricts the ab crunch. The parts that are new (head, hands, and feet) came out really well even if his head's range of movement is quite limited. I recognize that Xemnu is not even remotely a very popular character and the chances of him ever getting a deluxe release later in the line are slim to none so all in all I'm happy with how this BAF turned out, I am, I am. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...988d23dd_b.jpg |
I see that Hasbro is now "threatening" that if Frankie Raye isn't unlocked with Galactus, they won't release her until at least 2023, if ever.
Which is funny, because if Galactus hits 16K and Nova is unlocked, she won't be shipped out until the end of 2022 or maybe even early 2023. Aren't stretch goals supposed to be more like rewards and less like threats? It's weird that they made a more expensive figure, increased the minimum by 133%, and won't reveal the rest of the stretch goals. Seems like poor business all around. |

Xenmu is so cool looking... if I had to chose between completing him or Ursa Major I would choose Ursa Major though. And I hate trying to decide which figures to wait for the long game when it comes to BAFs. Waiting to finish my Apocalypse bit me hard since all the figs jumped up in price. But then completing Strong Guy at launch bit me too since you can find all but two figs on heavy discount right now at Gamestop.
Anyway found Ironheart today at my Walmart... thing is plus tax she was $28.03... like damn... this is getting brutal even at retail price. |
Prices increases are making the line harder & harder to collect. If the rumored $25 or $26.49 price tag comes to pass, I’ll be out expect for a very small group of favorites (all silver & bronze age characters & looks, which will likely save me money, since this team isn’t super attached to pre-90s comics).

And i agree with you Ultra Seven, regarding price increases. If we start looking at $30 including tax and then shipping on top of that if it's online, I'm going to have to really cut back. I've mostly stuck to figures on my want list so far this year, but i might have to drop to just 40 or 50 characters/looks that I want in total and be more adamant to not buy anything else. If it's a figure I really want that's in a set, I'll take that by a case by case basis (ie, new warriors, excalibur and acolytes for Justice Shadowcat and Exodus yes...not so sure about anything else I'd want that much) |

The whole thing is particularly funny because it was prefaced by Dan Yun tweeting “please don’t spend beyond your means” before Galactus was announced. That message feels pretty incongruous with the marketing campaign for Galacts. |

side note regarding Eternals - I think the wave will sell as well as Shang-Chi's wave did. For myself I'm just going to get Sersi as I've always stated, and a comic Sersi will remain in my top 10 list. MCU is a somewhat adequate stand in until/if we ever get a comic version. |
I’d like Nova to be produced, so that I at least have the ability to acquire her. Before this week, I was hoping she wouldn’t be made out of hope that they would instead release her to mass market. Since they’ve clarified they won’t do that, I suppose it’s better to have her exist, although it’s moot since she’ll be out of reach for me either way.
But at least I can get two whole waves of Age Of Apocalypse figures without trouble! /s |
Kro kinda looks like squidward

@Dr Kain - The price is said be going up to $25 per figure starting at the end of the year or so.
Did you guys hear the big news in Nerdzoic's Marvel Legends interview on YouTube? When he asked at the 11:36 mark if any 30th anniversary "X-Men: The Animated Series" Marvel Legends figures were thinking about for 2022, Ryan Ting confirmed "yes". I was also surprised to hear Dwight Stall hasn't watched any episodes of the show yet. |
Man 25 bucks per legends at the end of the year that sucks.

I told you I got your back and I have two pre-ordered, thus far. This isn't bluster; I mean what I say. With 12,700 already backed, 10 days remaining, and untallied collector-site totals outstanding: it's a pretty sure bet Galactus is being made. The only questions remaining are - Will the Nova stretch be achieved? Will they extend the fund date to make that happen? Will they reverse course and find some way to deliver Nova anyway to save face after fumbling the project? Ultimately, they want to keep mining HasLab. In order to do so and create a soft landing, they'll need to offer some sort of balm as recompense to collectors, like myself, that plunked the money down (and then some). If not, their current funding woes could pale in comparison to future projects, with backers of previous Haslabs becoming leery of being stung twice. |
