Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it out when I officially stop pretending to work.

"OFFICIAL" LOL what a coincidental and convenient teas...I mean, "leak!" *wink* *wink* I'm sure they had to scramble to release the trailer (that they'd already wrapped) waaay ahead of schedule. /s

Truth be told, I'm neither a trailer nor really an MCU guy too tough anymore, but after you mentioned it this morning I went and watched to purposely spoil it for myself! ;)

I have to admit, you're right, it is "BANANAS!"

There's a difference between talking about a trailer and posting spoiler pictures from the trailer that you can not avoid seeing.

Thank you for the shout out. I enjoy helping people when I am able. This is a family here to me and family helps family. Y'all be safe!

I actually missed your post (saw Harbinger's, Nash's, and Seven's), but thanks nonetheless.

Sadly, my friend dying is just the tip of an ice berg of crap going on with me right now. In exactly three weeks from today the shards of our shattered future plans are being incinerated.

Twitter this morning had images posted that you couldn't avoid and I didn't go out of my way to look for, they were just there.

Sure. If anyone has ever checked/consulted the Galactus entry on Wikipedia, and looked at the page statistics for that article, I'm the 1st or 2nd ranked editor on the article, depending on the metric you use. I've been editing that article on and off since 2007 lol.

I'm not a Legends collector, or a Marvel collector in general. To date, I've bought legends Thanos, Beta Ray Bill, Annihilation Nova, and Jean Phoenix (with the better head sculpt from the 2-pack). Galactus will be my 5th ever Legends purchase. I'm building up a small group of complementary figures strictly to display with Galactus.

Depending on how next Monday goes once the numbers are final and whatever stretch goal(s) are/are not achieved...I guess I'll start trying to track down a Terrax!

EvilMonkeyPope 08-23-2021 05:05 PM

It still bothers me there isn't an alternate head without the inaccurate light-up circles added.

Hey, man, I just finished reading the Galactus Wiki - my first ever reading of a Wiki-anything through and through. Great work, I really enjoyed the meticulous detail you and your fellow editors added and the Stan Lee quotes were pretty interesting.

Welcome to Marvel Legends collecting and the Ark! It's nice to meet someone new that's invested in Marvel's cosmic tapestry. All the figs you mention are great and there are plenty we (the thread has a couple of cosmic heads) can suggest to help your collection along. Let me know how your search for Terrax goes; I've a spare that I might be willing to trade, if you have something that interests me.

We'll see what happens on Monday with Galan, no doubt, but the thread has speculated that there might be some activity this "Fan First Thursday" on HasbroPulse. Fingers crossed.

Might be stretch goal...though I think that's too high in the prospective quota to be realized.

In any case, I don't mind it. The original/classic Kirby-Byrne/Starlin era never had them, to be sure. But since the mid 2000s Galactus' armor was never uniformly consistent from artist to artist...Adi Granov drew his G with the "power circle." Sideshow's statue has one, and I think the heroclix Galactus as well. Hasbro's own MU Galactus has the two circles. I think they're paying homage to the older MU Galactus helmet design with the two circles (I hated that overall helmet though, but that's besides the point), which goes along with the rest of the modern Galactus look they're going for.

Hey thanks man! Lol it's good that your first Wiki read was positive...some people get turned off, as admittedly articles can leave a lot to be desired. I used to be deep into X-Men in the 90s...stopped reading when the Onslaught fiasco finished. Took a long hiatus from comics but came back when Annihilation first came out. Told the comic shop guy I wanted something new with Thanos in it and he recommended it to me. But Galactus stole the show for me, ever since then I started following Marvel Cosmic almost exclusively.

I'm definitely going to try to tune in "live" (even though it's taped) to the Legends stream on Thurs. I'm 100% convinced they are going to make some sort of reveal beyond Surfer (if and when the quota for Nova is close by Thurs) and basically pull out all the surprises they've held in reserve. I'd be very surprised if they didn't...I believe Eternals will be presented as well, so it will be a nice cosmic themed presentation with Galactus finishing it up.

I'm mainly a hardcore Transformers collector (can't wait to have both Haslab planet eaters displayed), but might reach out at some point to see about your extra Terrax!

Any chance for a Tyrant stretch goal lol

Not the same trailer I saw this morning...and...I haven't seen Endgame and watched it anyway.

You haven't seen Endgame??? Get on it!!! :p

Boogieman4hire 08-23-2021 10:10 PM

I watched the trailer 3 times back to back. Then I watched a mivie then I came back and watched it again. I'm so incredibly excited to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home. I get the need to detain spoilers but everything I saw in that trailer or that was hinted at that I really want is not in the first legends wave. I heard a sinister laugh followed by a glowing orb like object and those things are attached to my favorite thing ever and it's a crime if said thing does not happen. This movie to me is what dreams are made of.
P.S. I'm way too excited. I only didn't tear because I had company. I think I'm more excited than I've maybe ever been for an MCU movie.

Sataninjaku 08-23-2021 11:12 PM

I actually haven't watched any of the MCU stuff, save GOTG (surprisingly fun- and by "surprisingly", I mean VERY), the first Cap, and the first two Iron Man films (meh). I'm not opposed to new interpretations of my nostalgia, but I always tend to go right to the source when I can. Comic versions all day for this guy.

MeLikeJinx 08-23-2021 11:29 PM

^ IMO the first half of Captain American and the first IM are the two best things in all of MCU. The Winter Soldier is a great action thriller movie in its own right though.

And the No Way Home trailer was neat... I find myself liking Dr. Strange and Spidey way more than I liked Tony Stark and Spidey. Crazy to think the 3rd Spidey movie almost didn't happen since Sony and Disney/Marvel were acting like doofuses for a little while there.

Robb 08-24-2021 03:06 AM

Finally put my order in for Galactus this morning. I am sure it will get made but I don't know about the other goals.

You should definitely check out The Winter Soldier and Civil War. The Captain America trilogy is the best super hero trilogy ever made! At least, thus far.

As for interpretations, what is the right version though? Marvel has rewritten the characters so many times that at this point, I don't think there is a true source for them. The way I look at it is as long as they aren't brooding or mass murdering people in the movies if they don't do that in the comics, then it's fine. <coughcoughSnyderversegarbagecoughcough>

For example, Marvel has retconned Nightcrawler from being 100% human to half-human, half-demon. If the MCU makes him the half and half version, will I be disappointed? Of course, BUT, it's still accurate to the comics so I'll deal with it.

Well, factoring the last day FOMO, and the imminent momentum following the stream this Thurs, I think Nova is a lock. They may even announce on Thursday that they're throwing in Surfer at base to propel even more backers, who knows. All I know is that it looks very good for Nova, at least.

TheBlueMarvel 08-24-2021 02:43 PM

Walked into Target on a rando visit and walked out with Happy and that Disney+ Scarlet Witch.

I was looking for Happy, but surprised by Wanda. Isn't she supposed to be hard to find?

I think the entire wave is a bit harder to find since the initial release (not counting a few random singles here and there left on the pegs), and she is just the most desired of the figures from that wave.

Well they're on track to have the big guy himself fully funded with the 14,000 by tomorrow, the last five days will just be a push for more. I do think at least Nova is in the bag.

The World Devourer, 3rd Force in the Universe, and the oldest living being in the MU has officially been funded, for the 4 of us who are excited for the Haslab!

It's over 14,800 now with 5 days left. I think it's safe to say Nova is a lock, and the 2nd tier, be it Surfer or whoever it is, will be in striking distance.

Captain Nash 08-25-2021 06:13 AM

Congratulations to everyone who wanted Galactus! So glad he's funded, even though I personally had on stake in it. I've said before, it's very disheartening to have something shown as a possibility and then have it taken away, so this is great news.

I hope the tiers get unlocked as well as I know Nova is very much wanted too.

With a lot of retailer orders still to come in, I think we're pretty safe on a 2nd tier reaching it's goal, too.

For fun, I think I'm going to go watch some "Hasbro doesn't know what they're doing" videos on YouTube now.

Spyne98 08-25-2021 07:01 AM

Just saw the Galactus news! Good to hear I'll be getting charged for it haha. Maybe they'll throw us a bone and include Frankie Nova too.

HIP! HIP! :drunk

Ultra Seven 08-25-2021 07:52 AM

… and from where the numbers currently are with how much time we’ve got left, it looks like, at a minimum, we’ll be getting Nova too. Hip hip indeed, I’m really looking forward to having that figure (thanks again Blue Marvel).
