https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=bounds I believe the head might offer the most difficult decisions; how to handle the neck peg as the ability to look downward is key in oversized figs since they tower above others; the lower segment of the cowl-helmet would likely necessitate the same rubbery plastic used for capes, but featuring less rigidity providing play for different angles. Also, in the pic above, I see potential to hide shoulder articulation between the double pauldrons. The yellow pauldron adorned with spikes can rest at the top of the bicep and be made of the same pliable plastic as the cowl, with the larger red pauldron being an attachment of a harder plastic separate from the torso to allow parts to move beneath. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=bounds Although they may not seem so, the arms are a bit more straight forward and a huge upscaling of the baggy approach we saw expertly executed with Kang would do pretty nicely. No need for anything other than a large 360 degree ball joint for the elbow, giant forearms with over sized gauntlet cuffs made of the aforementioned rubbery plastic and oversized mitts for pounding Thor. The baggy waist and heavily armored legs are likely the easiest aspect; I would use the same cape material to make the fins that stretch from the quads to the shins. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=bounds The ornate torso can be constructed in a similar fashion to Ultron, with a waist swivel and large ball joint that separates the diaphragm from the chest. There are plenty of places to hide the seam if you use the go-to rubbery plastic to create elements of the face on his midriff. Easier said than done, I guess, but if a normal schlep collector like myself can see a path forward, I'm sure the professionals at Hasbro can do far better. Also, if Brian and Meggan get released in a two pack, I could see Rachel and Kitty getting released in their own two pack as well. No need to include Kurt, unless the fig is rare or something - I grabbed three when it came out and haven't looked back to see where the fig is on the secondary market. Edit:...jus cuz.. Alan Davis bonus!!! Kurt n' Rach https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...720&fit=bounds The Fury bests Cannonball https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...720&fit=bounds Tyrant bonus!!! https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...720&fit=bounds |

After market prices on Nightcrawler seem to be in the $25-40 dollar range, but I think that he would benefit from a preemptive rerelease to stop him from suffering from Red Guardian syndrome, where the release of the rest of a team drives up the price of the earliest released member substantially. Edit: really dig that art of Nightcrawler & Rachel! I still love the inclusion of a cutlass with the last Nightcrawler figure, it was such a good choice for a character-specific accessory. |
^ Nightcrawler was double packed and already a really popular figure that almost everybody bought... plus that wave was abundant everywhere. Hardly anybody bought Red Guardian though I think... I remember still passing on Red Guardian when he was just 6 bucks at ROSS when that entire wave showed up there a few years back.

Wow. 300 away from Nova.

The new Captain Britain figure looks nice. I dig the bearded head. I am in the group hoping for some kind of multi-pack as Captain Britain is the least desired one of the Excalibur team to me. A three pack with Meggan and Shadowcat would be an immediate pre-order. Same with a five pack. Just a two pack though and I might wait and try to find just Meggan loose sometime.
As for an all comic Avengers wave my hopes would be Hawkeye (classic), Hulkling (New Avengers), Wiccan (New Avengers), Graviton, Swordmaster, Wonder Man (safari jacket), and Wasp (red and black) with a Super-Adaptoid BAF What I have really been curious about is from that interview a bit back that said they might do something for the anniversary of X-men the Animated Series. Any one else interested in them doing something for it? I would be very interested in a retro wave that is inspired by the cartoon (but perhaps not full on stylized like the What If? Or Into the Spider-verse). A Morph (with jacket) figure would be great same with a cartoon colored Mystique. Morph could come with some Gambit transforming and cartoon styled Gambit heads. Mystique's could be Storm. Then one could use the new heads with the previous retro versions. Or change out the coat piece and make a team uniform Gambit. I would absolutely love a cartoon colored Mastermind (tiger striped 90s vest and all!)! I would also be into a deluxe astral plane Shadow King. The cartoon totally has my favorite version of an astral plane SK. Maybe make him translucent with purple metallic highlights. |

I need more Asgard!
All the usual, Warriors Three,Heimdall, Balder, Kurse, Plus Frigga! Karnilla! Hildegard! Where the plus size girls at? Anaconda, Volcana. ( I can live without Big Bertha and Pink Pearl unless they come in a plus-size two pack with Gilded Lily). (Joking of course) And Mockingbird: classic long hair and pants or… silly ponytail and bare legs. Only one right choice for me. |

I am hoping my investment in Bain Electronics INC will eventually pay off.

^ Holy smokes... you are the one that bought all the Jacostas nationwide. LOL. And I hope we get an updated classic Valkyrie with her blue cape... would love to have a complete classic Defenders display... although I only have one green Hulk and he is in the Avengers section at the moment.
|
While we're talking about a comic based Avengers wave, I would like She-Hulk in one of her purple and white costumes, not shredded street clothes
|
Yep. I own them all.
A classic Valkyrie is very much needed, as well as Clea, Gargoyle, Hellstorm, Red Guardian II and Devil-Slayer. Also like Cloud, but methinks I will have to do that myself. And it’s a shame that after six She-Hulks, the best one remains the pre-posed Select. |
Nova acquired!!

Hippity!
|
Finally Shriek
She's built on the new standard Female body |
Morlun is it for me.
|
I'll get the Skrulls.
|
Putting Armadillo as the BAF in that wave is a dirty move. I’m irked, I literally want none of the wave, but boy do I want Armadillo. Damn it.
|
Captain Britain looks cool. As does Megan.
|
Meggan looks like she's been Joker gassed. But there's Shadowcat
|
They went with a three pack. Figures. What do they have against Rachel Grey? :P
|
The face on Shadowcat looks weird, but this being a 3 pack is just weird... Not sure I am game for an incomplete team. Then again, I want that Shadowcat, so I probably will regardless.

Any pics? Links to images?

I want to love the Shadowcat figure, since I’ve wanted classic Kitty Pryde forever. But I’m not feeling the headsculpt. I feel like she need bigger hair, and the overall look just seems off. I’ll totally settle, but I am underwhelmed. Edit: looking at reference art, I think the hair-style is a little off, and the face just doesn’t convey Kitty especially well. This particular complaint is super pedantic, but they also have her hair parted to the wrong side. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/08/65/56/0...vel-comics.jpg |
