Maybe it's because I found him at retail but I don't think Vision is all that special. I'm not looking to get rid of him but the fig isn't all that great

The buck isn't great - he's too small and has that stooped looked with poor head artic. But the paints are great, and the cape is nice too.

I think people force themselves to be in awe of it just to justify the cost of the thing. Late at night, when they're trying to sleep, they're haunted by buyers remorse

The glossy paint is nice.

Over the last few years, I have never been more thankful that I just happened upon a Vison in the store way back around when he was first released. Who would have thought he'd be the holy grail of the line, barring exclusives. If I'd known that I might not have ever opened him. But then again I could not have him to display either.

And then also a couple of years ago to just find a translucent one as well was just the icing on the cake.

Goldengreg 02-19-2014 03:55 AM

I had the chance to get a transluscent one in a lot sold by a fellow Arker, and feel very lucky to have him. I'd have prefered a "plain" one, but won't complain for the price.

Since he was one of my favorites when I was a kid, I'm happy to have him... now I need Wonderman and the Williams brothers will be reunited!

That's a great find, congrats! As far as Solid Vision being the "holy grail" of the MU line? I'm going to respectfully disagree with you.

Let me show you...

Top 8 most wanted MU single carded (for MOC collectors) figures in my opinion:

8 Solid Vision
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815422
7 Scarlet Spider Upside-down With Scarlet Spider Name Plate
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815422
6 Dare Devil Red, Hand Down Nun-chuck Up
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815426
5 Cable Hope With No Hope
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815426
4 Black Panther Black Eyes
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815426
3 Black Widow Short Red Hair
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815426
2 and 1 Black Widow Blonde and Luke Cage White Tank Top
http://www.toyark.com/attachment.php...1&d=1392815426

List:

8 Solid Vision
7 Scarlet Spider Upside-down With Scarlet Spider Name Plate
6 Dare Devil Red Hand Down Nun-chuck Up
5 Cable Hope With No Hope
4 Black Panther Black Eyes
3 Black Widow Short Red Hair
2 Black Widow Blonde
1 Luke Cage White Tank Top

The BP Black Eyes and The DD's figs belong to ARKER Shawn Woodbeck,
I'm still in the hunt for the LC White Tank and BW Blonde and the rest I do own.

Depends how much people paid I guess. He has one of the best (if not the best) paint jobs of the entire line. Plus his cape is one of the nicest (next to Adam Warlock's - my personal fave).

Nice list! I still think most peeps would want Vision though, since all the others are minor variants of easier to find figures... just my opinion.

samsson37 02-19-2014 07:09 AM

Hmmm I respect your opinion, and I understand, the cage, widows and baby hope...but a hand down nun-chuck ?! Over a vision...I just don't see it.

I hope by the "others" you don't mean the rest of my list. The Vision is easy to find compared to the others on my list, just very expensive, the rest of my list is almost impossible to find my friend. Do a little search on eBay, Amazon or anywhere else and find out for yourself.

Yes but for MOC Collectors (completest I might add), It's all about how "rare" the fig is and how hard to find not how nice it looks.

3233rafael 02-19-2014 07:27 AM

^ Great discussion fellows... I honestly enjoy this. If you can, please prove me wrong with evidence!

If you're an MOC completionist, then your list totally makes sense. But for collectors who don't care about figure/packaging variants, I would agree that Vision tops the list of MU most-wanted/holy grails.

In my case, I have Cage, DD v1, Widow, Cable w/o Hope and Scarlet Spider. I don't care about the other versions of those figures, as long as I have a version in my collection. Vision is the only one you mentioned that I don't own (and probably never will since I refuse to pay more than retail for any MU figure).

Also remember, holy grails aren't just the super rare or ultra hard-to-find figures. Rarity does play a factor, but desirability is the driving force. And not everyone will ever agree on what is or is not desirable enough to be called a holy grail.

He sparkles like a hot rod at a car show he is so shiny. Can actually see your reflection in that green paint!! Also his cape is super soft plastic... unlike the other caped MU guys, at least the ones I have so far.

Don't pass on Vision anymore guys.... he is going to go up in value each passing year. You will see him YEARS later for 1000 and tell your grand kids you could have picked him up for 80... He is simply beautiful. I waited for two years and when I got, it did not disappoint. Just the opinion of a guy in England, but I thought I would share it with you.

Wow,steady on sportsfan.vision is mediocre if anything, omega red is a nicer figure,as are a ton of Mu,I'm not on board the hype train as far as vision is concerned,in fact I'm actually hoping the rumours of another vision ring through, hopefully it's a superior fig to the g1 Mu vision.as far as value goes?id rather go with the exclusives and certain marvel legends.vision is overpriced over hyped piece of garbage in my eyes, but it helps having one in the collection, lol.

skywarrped 02-19-2014 09:01 AM

I can see you'll probably appreciate these then 3233rafael. Here's a couple of "packaging mistake" figues from my collection that you may not have seen before. :)

Doctor Who? No, Doctor Strange with no name.

Punisher with folded tab.

I agree with trebleshot. I believe overall desirability determines holy grail status. What's a holy grail for one person may not be for another. The two figures above above could be considered rare due to their unique packaging conditions, but there's probably not many people who would desire them beyond completionists. Personally, I like them because they are different.

True, that's why I specified for MOC collectors and I did say in my opinion. I should've probably titled it the 8 rarest for MOC collectors instead of the most wanted figs. But the top 5 on that list I will say that they are holy grails for MU single carded MOC completionist or completest collectors.

Yes, I agree with you and Trebleshot on that. Yes, I definitely do appreciate those figs you have man... Very nice find! I would say they're more like packing errors to me. Would you agree on that?

Yes, definitely. I would also fit the Cable Hope With No Hope and the Scarlet Spider Upside-down With Scarlet Spider Name Plate (and maybe a couple others) as packaging errors as well due to the fact that those were not the intended packaging methods.

^ It's definitely an interesting topic my friends! So now I'm curious... What would be top 6 most "wanted" or desired MU figs for the lose collectors??

skywarrped 02-19-2014 10:00 AM

1) Solid Vision
2) Northstar

That's all i want for my loose collection aside from the unreleased figures.

I would think that last wave, AOA Nightcrawler, Omega Red, The Alpha Flight Twins, and I would like to get a loose X-Force Arcangel, I think think he's still one of the semi rare ones still.

Nice! It makes me appreciate more my solid vision after looking at most of these posts. Yes, right now Northstar is the figure most of us are very patiently waiting for!

Nice list! I haven't seen anyone mention Blade... is he Not liked?

zim 02-19-2014 11:36 AM

one good thing about upcoming infinite line is that vision may make his way back. I think if enough of you email hasbro, they will put him in. They changed the customer service section and no longer list individual figures. Toy news site owners should have never published this knowledge on their front page. The moment these sites posted that the their leak came from hasbro customer service site they plugged it.

I'd like to see antman, was hoping to get him in the cancelled MU 2 pack but hope we don't have to wait till the antman movie. The toyark member who bought the 2 pack from ebay must be so happy now. It is probably worth a lot more now. I feel sad if he opened it.

I didn't realize that infinite series was going to be a series, thought they said it would be peppered in with movie and other lines. So basically they just changed MU name and packaging so that disney could not gouge them on another lisc fee. I was kinda hoping that it would be smaler scale as keeping up with this stuff is exhausting. I'd be happy if they just did 4 figs per quarter and offered a subsscription.

Shawn Woodbeck 02-19-2014 11:37 AM

I agree with Raf and Treb. Being a MOC completionist is way different than a loose fig collector. The list Raf put up is amazing and informative. thanks for the info!
