p.s., I'm not a Walmart associate, I'm just sharing frugal news.

It’s an absolute avalanche of releases ATM.
My Eternalsare arriving today plus some dregs from the Iron Manwave, and just been told the three AOA X-men I ordered are coming next week (Legion, Rogue and Kitty-whom will become Lady Mastermind), plus Tigra and…Binary!
If my Disney ultimates and FF mezclo arrives soon, I will be broke for sure.

I kind of hate you for pointing out that Kitty would make a good Lady Mastermind. I guess I'll need two of her.
And just kidding about hating you. That's a pretty awesome idea!

Using AoA Shadowcat for Lady Mastermind is my exact plan too! I never liked Bachalo's weird flesh strip front (as designed for AoA Dazzler, Lady M, and reused again for Bendis era Emma) so I think AoA Shadowcat is perfect! I pre-ordered a loose one from Dorksidetoys so only the gods know when I might be getting her. I haven't heard any news about any of my pre-orders through them yet going all the way back to my Quicksilver pre-order.

What head are y'all planning to use for your Lady Mastermind customs? I am going to swap heads with my exclusive white outfit Black Widow. The swooped back hair fits Reagan's style and the Kitty head actually makes a decent looking fighting expression for Widow.

@Ariel

Nice, I'm happy for your Eternals! I nabbed a couple (Sersi, Makkari, and Kingo) ahead of my wave shipment. As I said from the start, they'll make for great random 'space folk' and I'm happy to support with an enthusiastic eye toward comic canon versions.

However, I'll admit that you getting your Binary, so early, represents the first tinge of toy envy I've had in a long time. Lol No, not the Sentinels, but Binary makes me envious!

Where did you order from?

Robb 10-08-2021 09:04 AM

Just got my order with spidy exclusive from Wal-mart that I ordered yesterday. That was fast.

Good morning lovely ladies and gents (we can be nice again, right? Right)

@Spyne
Hate all you want, but form an orderly queue. LOL
To be frank, I despise the whole AOA comics, but the figures sure look good. I just don’t like the garish designs. That particular Kitty has a face that reminds me of certain magazines with XX’s at the end, and I’ve gotten ok at painting things black. Will be using the white Widow head of course.
@Blue Marvel
Yes, I would love comic Eternals (and deviants, and Celestials),cause Kirby, baby! And hope for at least Ikaris, Sersi, Thena and Makkari (the male version), (I love you Lauren Ridloff!).
And I can’t a it for Binary. Is from my favourite X-men period.
Been looking at your Tigras and Hercules’ with envy so hopefully, we get Carol V.3 first.
I ordered two from Comics And Cocktails in the UK.
Finally here’s my initial Eternals set up. Sorry for the crap iPad picture. Better pics will come later on my @eclecticaction in insta.

Yeah, the coast seems to be clear, for now...

I like that name: Comics And Cocktails.

It's nice to see an establishment treat the hobby as an adult institution. Even when I was a kid, I saw more forty year-olds than fourteen year-olds in comic shops. I don't buy books nowadays beyond TPBs, but when I do walk into a store, this still holds true unless the retail space is also a CCG outfit.

Thanks for the scoop, I'll read up on their international shipping and decide whether I want to take the plunge. I see it's a pre-order for Binary. Did you get a ship notice already?

In other news, I got my Wolverine 5pack yesterday from Amazon that you received weeks ago, Ariel. Obviously, I'm most excited by Callisto and Mastermind. Although nothing in this offering represents anything new sculpt-wise and yet one more double (or even quintuple) dip for some figs, I'm still happy to have the representations.

Looking at the 5pack's Wolverine in juxtaposition to the recent Zombie-Cap, I've become annoyed that Hasbro didn't have the same courage with their injured Logan. I know Zombies and their decaying parts, while representational of visceral gore, tend to be more widely accepted as fantastical than would be a "normal" man having multiple mortal wounds and bullet holes in his chest and head. However, the cuts and scrapes leave me wanting, especially in light of Zomb-Cap.

ariellagunas 10-09-2021 10:35 AM

They posted on FB that Binary, Tigra and AOA wave were arriving. Normally on Friday.

I end up with two wolvies sets. Will sell the spares. Will keep Callisto and Jason for more Hellfire members kitbashes. And I’m doing a Lourdes Chantel to add to the display.
That shirtless Logan has the best face sculpt so far. But I agree, some bone showing or slashes woul be cool.
I actually loved the Marvel Zombies comics, so I’m all in for more zombies. I have all the select ones, that tend to get dust off this time of the year. Shame all my zombies, marvel or otherwise are all over the place in scale. From 4” to 12”, but in Halloween I’m always all in. Like I need an excuse to get more monsters.

Weapon X 10-09-2021 10:44 AM

Does anyone know if any teenager-height Marvel Legends figures exist? With civilian clothes. I'm trying to make a civilian Tom Holland Peter Parker.

DarthKamen 10-09-2021 10:44 AM

Nevermind.

Nimrod 10-09-2021 11:33 AM

All of you buying up these Eternals figures at full overprice are gonna be crying in a couple of months when you see em on clearance for $10.

Looking on Figure Realm, I’ve seen people use
* Abstrakt from Fortnite
* Diablo from the DCM Suicide Squad
* Jakku Finn from Star Wars Black Series

Honestly, I don’t really like any of them.

Personally, I think the two best options are to either wait for an official Peter Parker or wait for Hasbro to start making Power Rangers in their civilian clothes.

Starlord67 10-09-2021 12:12 PM

Found Thena...the likeness is GREAT!

I'm not collecting these but I'm finding the Eternals so let me know who ya need and I'll grab them for ya.

I was never a Marvel Zombies guy. I'm not really a zombies guy, in general. I do like skeletal zombies, or animated skeletons as their raw magical nature is undeniable; no virus nonsense; no 'sense' at all, for that matter, just straight spectral power.

Weird tangents aside, yes, I'd be pleased with exposed adamantium ribs, a visible portion of his metal skull, bullet holes, some slots to insert swords, but I could easily see Disney pushing back on that mightily. That said, this 5pack is an online exclusive, so maybe they could have gotten away with it.

I knew about the others, but thanks for the Abstrakt tip. Depending on the height I might use him. Not crazy about any of these either, but maybe a mixing of parts and repainting could do the trick. Thank you.

Weapon X 10-09-2021 03:59 PM

Btw, do you guys know why Amazon is getting the D+ wave in so late?

Weapon X 10-09-2021 04:08 PM

Also, what do you guys think are the chances of Marvel re-doing the Bro-Thor BAF a la Thanos and Vulture?

I'm not sure, I want to say "maybe" but then probably only in a multipack. Not every BAF gets put back out there and then with the recent Infinity Saga Endgame Thor I'm not sure how much demand Hasbro is going to see for Thorbowski. If it were my call I'd throw him in a pack with Korg in his tacky pineapple clothes with his gaming gear and Miek with some pizza. Hell, put in the couch and maybe the TV if it can be done. I know Thor was shirtless when they were hanging out together but I think the hoodie look of the BAF would still fit the scene.

One other option that I thought of was the Ghostbusters Plasma Series Louis Tully. He was an exclusive which will probably be hard to get now. But he's a plain clothes guy that is shorter than most other figures. There's also the Mattel version.

But before you buy anything, wait until Pulse Con. It's only two weeks away and you never know what they'll reveal.

Spiderman: NWH comes out in December so maybe we'll see some new figures from the movie. Hasbro made MJ when FFH came out. Why not update her and include Peter for a NWH 2 pack?

Ghostbusters: Afterlife comes out in November and several of the cast members are kids. They just released the kids in their GB jumpsuits. If they wanted to keep the line going, they might release figures of the kids in regular clothes.

Probably supply chain issues. Most stores I've seen the D+ Wave 2 at have only put out one case and haven't restocked yet.

jwyss234 10-09-2021 09:57 PM

My Legends finds over the past 2.5 days. I got The Thing from Dorkside while Captain Carter and Jameson were local finds. Yesterday was the first time I've seen the Armadillo wave in my area. Unfortunately, someone beat me to Miles and Strange.

So close yet so far. Come on Hasbro, you know these two need to be done properly.

MeLikeJinx 10-10-2021 07:01 AM

^ Seems like Target has the What If wave and Walmart has all 3 waves... What If, No Way Home & AoA 2... but only a case of each. Gamestop and Best Buy have Tigra and Captain Peggy so far.

Dr Kain 10-10-2021 08:31 AM

I read through the X-Men Powers of X/House of X book and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I do want to see how this story progresses so I'm going to have to look for ways to do so. One thing that intrigues me is this is clearly not the original X-Men timeline and I am a sucker for multiverse stories. It actually makes me think of the Age of Apocalypse. Speaking of whom, I'm quite sure Apocalypse is playing nice becuase he is up to something. Possibly the same with Sinister. One of my favorite scenes in the book was when Magneto and Prof X came to visit Sinister and one of his clones was jealous of Magneto's cape, asking why he doesn't have a cape like that. I also want to see more of Moira's lives fleshed out, specifically the one where she is an assassin and Apocalypse's Horseman. On the downside, I'm not sure I like the cult aspect they had going on during the resurrection moment. That seemed very awkward, especially for Storm. Furthermore, not being able to die does kind of ruin the suspense, but since death means nothing in the Marvel universe anyway, I guess it doesn't matter.

Now I kind of want to get the Tri-Sentinel wave, but it seems like the prices haven't gotten any cheaper for it, in some cases, they've gotten higher.

Benn Roe 10-10-2021 08:52 AM

It is the original X-Men timeline. Obviously parts of it aren’t, but 616 is supposed to always have been Moira’s tenth life.

I know that is what they are saying, but I don't fully believe it. Plus, AoA was also the 616 timeline for a while.
