Amazon delivered Legion today. David doesn't even exist in the AoA but since he's the one who triggered the reality's existence his inclusion in the wave does make sense. I think Hasbro did a great job with his pillar of hair and I like his zany expression. I can't tell if the paint wash on his clothes is just way over-applied or if that's deliberate to make it look like stains. Either way he's a solid figure and now I'm one piece closer to building Colossus. |
Every time I look at Legion I think of Static X.

In junior high I was a huge Kid n Play fan for some reason... listened to all the tapes and watched all the House Party movies. He reminds me of Kid.

My thoughts on the AoA crew:
Iceman - I like the plastic they used for this guy. It's the first translucent figure of Iceman they have done that hasn't felt rubbery and cheap. The joints are all tight and I really like the color even though I'm pretty sure he was not that dark in the comic. In fact, I remember Iceman just being some sort of blobby thing in most panels. The Carnage hands are also a bit weird, but overall, he's cool. Legion - A great use of Shang-Chi's legs and I think the upper torso used for Sandman and Hydroman. The hair is amazing even though I always think of Static X whenever I see him. I do wish his face was more freakish though. He just looks midly agitated instead of crazed like he is supposed to be. Actually, now thinking about it, it's not the Sandman body because it has the new barbell neck joint and I can't seem to get his head off of it at all. Rogue - The head seems to sit on the neck a little too high, but other than that, she's great. She has pinless legs, which is pretty awesome and the green coloring works. I'm not a fan of the full yellow body, however, that's the way she was in the comic. Paint apps are great too. Magneto - I'm a tad disappointed with this one. His helmeted head seems to be a bit too tiny, the hair scratches the purple around his cape, the forgot to paint his waist area below his belt purple, and his cape is quite hard. The cape is actually the biggest annoyance for me as I can deal with the rest of the issues. I just don't know why they chose to make it so freaking hard when the other caps have been more of a soft rubbery material. His little energy accessories seem rather pointless. I'm not sure why they chose to package those with him. |
I cancelled my AOA wave, I felt bad but I don't want to have that hanging over me and tying me to things here. I know the distribution is all completely screwed up right now, but it's time to move on and I can't let this one thing hold me back. I hope I find them in the wild or elsewhere eventually.

EDIT: It appears Carter and Starlord can be ordered, but Cap and Nebula cannot. |

Just got the email from Pulse that most of my AoA figures and GI Joe BBQ is delayed until December. Nice.

Elmer's glue is the only way to go, the blue clear variety is best. They used to make an orange clear variety that was better, but they discontinued it in the early '00s. Dries in minutes with a hairdryer, washes out easliy, and it will stay up for literal days if you're a nasty motherfucker. Not much fun when it rains, though. |

^ Nice job with the lines... always amazes me how a Spidey figure looks so different with the webs painted in. I am gonna make Zombie Hunter Spidey my default Peter Parker Spidey and keep the retro one carded.

Hasbro is sending out a ton of delay emails right now, on everything.
I just want to know when they’re going to email me on these Sentinels. |
So glad I never went in on these Haslab Sentinels. Wonky knees, malfunctioning lights, huge delays, not to mention over scaled & over priced imo. I'm good to go with my 6 3D printed 16' classic Sentinels.

Gah! I jinxed myself. Got an email from Pulse. AoA delayed. Time to go looking in stores I guess. Or Amazon.
|
I've received 9 emails from Hasbro in the past 2 days about product delays, I got a feeling more are coming...the board's lighting up like Southwest airline's flight status.
