Due to the number of AoA figures now, I had to reconfigure my shelves from one to two for AoA and came to a realization. Hasbro has only released THREE villains, Apocalypse, Dark Beast, and Sugarman. The other 14 figures are good guys. I hope the next wave they do includes a few more badguys.

But you consistently set up this comparative that not only disparages Hasbro's decision to make a runaway success of a project (minus unforeseen supply chain problems), but you're also actively judging the decision of consumers to buy said project. And while doing so, you've thrown out some odd red herrings; "oh, people must be rich for buying this" while you've revealed that you payed $600 dollars for your Sentinel customs and routinely buy $60 figs, and "people have spacious homes to keep their collections in" while you own 4-6 of the custom Sentinels (not much smaller) and have a miniature dio STREET complete with two story buildings of both custom and mainstream manufacturing (NECA) variety (all of which taking up space in your home). A lot of what you say doesn't add up, unless viewed from the prospective of provocative troll. Which is also fine as long as there is some sincerity in presentation.

Why not just say you wish Hasbro would consider a retro Sentinel, rather than making a commitment to bashing popular projects?

Also, invoking the term "snitch" is laughable. You livin' that life, bruh? Lol

I have a spare empty room which I use as my action figure cave. It's 10x10,
hardly a "spacious room". And considering my "Cheap looking" Sentinels are only 16' tall & the superior Haslab version is like double that, I'd hardly say they are not "that much smaller". And for the past decade or so I've been on these boards begging for Hasbro to make a "Giants of the Marvel universe" line featuring characters that are in 10 ft -20ft range and sell them as exclusives since the BS excuse card I get from some here is that they won't sell & they take up space on the shelves. Plz don't bring up the line where they turned regular normal sized characters into Giants such as Spidey, DD, Thor, DP & Colossus, why would anyone buy giant sized figs of normal sized characters? That made zero sense!

And as for spending $600 on these, I'd rather get 6 "cheap looking" Sentinels that are in the scale I prefer than pay $800+ for 2 Haslab Sentinels. Plus I donate plasma 8x a month & I use my plasma $$ for the figures I buy. So yeah, it's not like I'm rich.

While I'd ideally love some 2 packs and another wave, I think another wave could wrap of most of my waves if they gave us:

Storm
Quicksilver
Dead Man Wade
Night Crawler
and all four horsemen (one as a BAF)

Sure, I'd love Gambit, Bishop, Mystique, Dazzler, Havok and so many others but I feel like the first four of the first list are more likely choices, and the fact that Hasbro's not released any Horsemen in the first two waves is suspicious. Of course, Mikhail didn't have as big a presence, so he could be replaced with someone else, but I'd honestly rather have all four horsemen than just three of the four.

I do feel like a third wave is definitely coming at some point, though it may not be next year, but 2023 or 2024 instead.

The other week you had asked about figure stands. I picked up a set of the figure stands I linked to on Amazon and they arrived today.

Thanks man!

And that must have been someone else asking about the figure stands, but thanks anyways!

I wasn't trying to change hearts and minds with my post, just relaying information. Someone had asked for suggestions and I found those Jetec stands on Amazon. The price for the quantity was good so I gave them a shot because I’m also needing some figure stands as well. Like I said in my original post, the Jetec stands are fine but they have drawbacks. As of right now, I’m not even sure if I'll buy more of them.

Uhhh, there are many things here. But, in broad strokes, a spare "ROOM" (???) while setting up a context that others must live in palatial manses in which they house their Haslab Sentinels is rich with hippocracy. It's a bit out of touch, as well, G, I keep most of my shit in storage.

No kinda cap, but a lot of this stuff sounds like double talk, man...

Also, if you are donating blood, for money to feed a consumer addiction, well, 'PRIORITIES'.

I'm sorry, but am I the only one on these boards who has a spare room? And Plasma isn't blood, plasma is separated from your blood. Plasma is just water & protein. You can only donate Blood once every month if that.

And I cherry pick the ML line as I only collect comic based characters that I like, so no, unlike the few here that collect every single wave that comes out, I don't. Last full wave I bought was the Ursa Major BAF wave cuz it was all comic based & I wanted like 75% of the characters in it, I sold off the AI IM & RiRi.

I'm sure you aren't the only one with a spare room on the Ark. However, you are the only person with a spare room (specifically earmarked for toys) that I've seen deride others for collecting such an "over-scaled" Haslab when you obviously have the space for it. Not only is it a weird form of faux populism (fronting 'broke' - while most struggle with housing; let alone housing with spare amenities/rooms), but it's hypocritical given that your criticisms aren't actual obstacles for you.

I stand corrected regarding your Plasma vs blood donation, but the general sentiment remains exactly the same. If you are selling bodily fluids to feed your toy fix, there might be some room for reflection.

Well……at least its toys and not illegal drugs or hookers. ;)

TheBlueMarvel 10-18-2021 11:23 AM

Haha! Even as a toy collector, I might have more respect for hookers and drugs! :p

My "bodily fluids" are for an extremely helpful cause as plasma is used for burn victims, hemophiliacs & to make numerous & various medicines for various medical issues. And what I use the $$ that I earn from my donations is my business & does not solely for buying ML figs, I also use it to pay a few utility bills. I find it amusing that it seems to bother you in what I use my plasma $$ for. Would it make you sleep better if I said I used it to buy junk food, smokes, beer/drugs?

If you are getting cash, can it really be called a "donation" (or leveraged as altruism, for that matter)?

There are only a few things I comment on that actually bother me and, to be honest, what you do with your personal humorals is your choice.

But when troll, you can expect me to troll back. I'm the troll's troll. Isn't it obvious?

Guess what, going to donate plasma takes time & gas $ as well. They know that as well, which is why they financially compensate us donors 2x a week. If you'll go someplace 2x a week & spend your gas $ & time doing so for free, more power to ya.

Eric and Julia Lewald, who worked on the show, will be appearing on the Marvel panel, as well as David Nakayama, who did the artwork for the Target exclusive Retro Rogue and Retro Gambit figures last year. I'm hopeful we'll see some new, preferably non cel-shaded, Retro X-Men figures next year, as I'd love to finally find and buy characters like Beast, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Jubilee, Magneto and Mystique. And of course, Morph is a must among most X-Men T.A.S. fans.

Also, over on The Fwoosh, it seems like we're getting a new classic Toad figure, though it's unclear if it's for the Marvel Legends 20th anniversary wave or a different one.

What do you guys think of the possible news?

I am all here for Toad if these rumors are true! Classic would be my preference look along with an alt head with long tongue. I appreciate learning from you all that Toad's tongue was a later addition to the character, so in light of this I wouldunderstand if he doesn't come with one but Hasbro has made some cool looking tongues for the symbiotes lately and I'd love to display Toad's powers in action.

As for X:TAS stuff, I want to be excited for this but it all depends on what Hasbro offers. Morph would certainly be a purchase for me. An animated styled Blob too (deluxe or BAF). I'd love a HFC Jason Wyngarde repaint in fun and fashionable 90's rad cartoon colors. I don't personally need any repaints or re-issues of the main X-men from the show, though I support reissues of hard to aquire figures and know my husband would love a cartoon Jean with a more accurate head sculpt (I'm all about Marvel Girl so it doesn't bug me). Other than some new villains (Fabian Cortez, Astral Plane Shadow King, Avalanche, Vertigo all come to mind) Idk what Hasbro could make that I would really want from the show. And I would be shocked if any of these villains are actually a part of Hasbro's plans for this.

Agree on that last part for sure. I'm a huge fan of the show, but I feel like while there's a lot that's not 100% accurate, there's a huge amount that is close enough that it wouldn't justify me buying another figure. That of course does not include figures that need updates from the ToyBiz or Hasbro Dark Days (pre 2014), and certainly any characters that haven't been made to legends at all wouldn't apply.

TAS Morph I could get behind. Avalanche and Destiny for sure, some of the others you mentioned as well, but I've no interest in another Jim Lee-esque Cyclops, Wolverine, etc.

Off topic bump post - I see Marvel has shuffle/delayed quite a few movies as of...today it looks like? Starting next year, most appear to be moving up movie release spot - Dr. Strange in May, Thor in July, Black Panther in November, The Marvels in Feb. 2023, Ant-Man in July 2023. Guardians 3 appears to still be set for May 2023.
Still an untitled Marvel movie for November 2023 - could this be New Avengers or Fantastic Four? Or possibly the next Spider-Man movie?

I'm guessing some more movies that were planned for 2023 and 2024 will likely be shuffled back a bit as well.

^Just as well. While the world hardly revolves around my sensibilities, me and mine are not in a rush to go back the theaters, yet.

Sustained decline in national Covid-19 rates for 6 months? Yeah, maybe then, but not until.

I hate theaters in general. Way too expensive ( in both food and ticket prices ) and i hate being around people, especially the ones who are always yappin or on their phones.

At least the tail end of the nineties saw a decline in baby toting maniacs who were, somehow, surprised that a loud action flick or horror might send their child into a hysterical crying fit. That was fun.
