Awesome shots, Dr. Kain! That's a hell of a setup you have there. You must have a whole room dedicated to your collection, at least.

I've got detolfs on both sides along with DVD, graphic novels, and video games shelves and in the center is my video equipment. Camcorder, tripod, lamps, microphone shield, chair, and stool. Oh, and my dioramas. We need a house as our apartment has gotten too small. Anyway, a few new things arrived: https://i.imgur.com/EIrXZzS.jpg Amazon didn't even notify me that Cyclops had shipped out. Now I'm just waiting on Kitty and Sabertooth. Be nice if the person who comes with the BODY to Colossus would ship out already. |

I got my Retro Fantastic Four figure of the Thing and he's truly fantastic. He's also a heavier figure than I thought he'd be. I got notified my Mr. Fantastic will apparently be sent out this week too, but I forgot which day it'll arrive on. Since I got these pre-ordered on Amazon when the listings went up and they've been listed as March 2022 releases, I'm pleasantly surprised that I almost have half of the team in my collection, especially since I only got Invisible Woman of the Walgreens exclusive figures.
|
^ IMO you kinda lucked out not finding the rest of the Walgreens F4 (unless you preferred that outfit instead)... you didn't have to rebuy everyone and now you have Herbie and a headswap for that ugly Retro Sue.

Machine Man, help me out here..." https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...6dc2ee1c_b.jpgEye Candy Camera Photo Editor Picture 2 by lowanbing, on Flickr Love NextWave- been having a ton of fun with The Captain! :D |
wasn't super crazy about all the female Sentinels having the same windswept white hair and trying a few hair swaps with various figures I just wasn't finding anything i liked- so I did a bit of sculpting gave the extra two the generic robot dome like the male versions. I think it gives them more of troop builder look.

DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Berry and put it over the top of what I already had. Could probably skip the mix and just do a black base with the Berry over the top and come out the same. :) |
I'm still debating if I want to off-load my Bastions and female versions on ebay and see if they sell. As a group, they look cool, but they're from an era of X books I just have no interest in. Then again, I've kept Onslaught despite knowing absolutely nothing about that character either beyond what my Encyclopedia and friends have told me.
Speaking of X-Men, I had borrowed from my local library Dawn of X Volume 1 and overall it was a mixed bag because none of them seem to really get to their main points, and yet, there were some stories I enjoyed. X-Men - I like how it continued where PoX/HoX left off and that's about it. Marauders - This one intrigued me quite a lot and it was the story of the book I was not looking forward to the most. I like the idea of Kitty running a ship to take other mutants who can't teleport to Krakoa to it. Not sure how I am about her now wanting to be called Kate, but overall it was a fun time, especially when Pyro got excited for being able to use Lockheed's fire in his attack. Excalibur - So Psylocke is back in her original body? No idea how that happened, but okay. Other than that, I can't say this story did much for me. Morgan Le Faye is the villain, so I might continue it, especially if we get to see her take on Apocalypse, but right now, he's the only reason I want to stick with this book. New Mutants - Uh... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, wasn't a fan. I guess I'm lost as to why the team was aboard Corsair's ship. Something about retrieving Cannonball, though they never actually explained what he was doing in space. I did laugh at the part when the team ditches Sunspot (wait, is that Sunspot?) and he realized he should have known that was coming. Same with when he won Corsair's stash of bourbon from the fight between Magik and Raza. X-Force - The artwork was kind of atrocious in this one and hard to follow. The pacing also seemed to be all over the place. Obviously they didn't actually kill Professor X, but I guess the cliffhanger has me wanting to read the next issue. Fallen Angels - Wait, so Psylocke is Asian again? Oh, that's not Psylocke, but she's going to go by Psylocke anyway? So now there's two Psylockes? I am so confused. Anyway, this was easily the worst of the six issues and I have no interest in reading another one. I did get a kick out of her conversation with Mr Sinister though. Overall, I do wish my library had the next few Dawn of X books, or even the regular books themselves as honestly, it got a tad loopy jumping between each run. Still, I continue to be intrigued with this run. |

I see where you're coming from. I bounced off most of the new X-books. I don't even think Fallen Angels is a thing anymore.
While at first, the ideas Hickman introduced I found to be intriguing, I now find the books and characters to have no agency. And also a bit detached. But I have that issue with a lot of Hickman work. There is a lot to work off of though from the initial concept. Like Nightcrawler's newest grapple with faith. But even that I have an issue with in the sense that Nightcrawler, like most characters in the last 20 years have only been boiled down to 1 or 2 defining traits in lieu of actual new character development. Nightcrawler will only ever be blue and Catholic now. |
Hey, Dr Kain and Sataninjaku, if you're looking to offload your female and male sentinels, let me know. Maybe we can work something out.
