https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=bounds I'd also be very Happy with the comic versions of the Executioner and any of the Warriors Three. I'll say it again, I'm hoping for the eye-guard/Erik Masterson Thor (that had Thor's full might) for this wave and maybe that's what they are hinting at with "Visor." https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=bounds Unfortunate turn-of-phrase there for old Erik... |
C'mon Hasbro... that Thor wave is a perfect chance to sneak in an updated comic Valkyrie to finish of the Classic Defenders.

OMG, Emma's face in this scene is just priceless.
https://i.imgur.com/JCZpURb.jpg I totally need those faces as alternate heads in the Legends line. Oh, and my Target had 8 Invisible Womans on the shelf. That's right, EIGHT of her and no one else. |

I read through Dawn of X Volumes 2 and 3 sans the Fallen Angels issues. I just have no motivation to read that series after the shitastic premier.
First off, these issues are weird in their timeline placemnet. Like some of them take place after a certain assassination while others seem to be before. And it isn't just series, but even issue ordering. Like New Mutants #2 continued where #1 left off while #3 seems to be before the assassination. Anyway: X-Men - So Cyclops, Cable, and Cable's sister (had no idea Cyclops had another child from the future) go to this island that turns out to be a mate for Krokoa. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooookay. If you say so. The issue was okay. The third issue, featuring Cyclops, Emma, and Sebastian getting their asses kicked by evil Golden Girls was pretty funny, especially when the quartet were insulting Emma. I have no idea who these Horticulture people are, but the issue itself was fun. Oh, why does Cable look like his movie version and how can he be there with Scott if he is with Psylocke in Japan? Marauders - This series continues to be my favorite of the books. I love the focus on the Hellfire Club and how we get more insight into Emma and Sebastian being at odds with each other. I had completely forgotten Sebastian had a son, though I had no idea Shinobi was dead. Interesting to see he seems to have his own deals going on against his father though. I am really anxious to see how this run continues. Excalibur - I wasn't really impressed with the first issue, but the second sold me on the series. At least, mostly, as I didn't enjoy issue 3 as much as the previous one. So who is Jubilee's child's father? I did find it funny that the kid turned into a dragon though. I'm also very curious about Apocalypse's plan he seems to be building up. New Mutants - The second issue with the lawyer was quite hilarious, especially the document that said to get rid of the lawyer for being terrible. So Cannonball went off and married a Shi-ar imperial guard and had a child with her? Interesting. The banter between Sunspot and Cannonball was quite fun. As for the third issue, not sure what I think about it, especially with that hideous ugly thing called Glob. Jesus, why didn't they kill him with fire at birth?! :D I'm not sure where this is going as it was a tad boring, but I did like the comment, "So this is why they always send Wolverine first" that one of the members made. X-Force - The weakest of the five series I have been reading so far. Wolverine and a teen guy on the hunt and finding Domino being used for a jigsaw puzzle. And this comic is for kids? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Not much seems to have happened other than that certain someone being brought back to life, diminishing the entire impact of him dying in the first place. I'm enjoying these quite a bit, but at the same time, I feel like there is no real purpose to the stories from a narrative standpoint. Are they supposed to be leading somewhere? Or is it meant to just be everything meandering around until some big event occurs? |
You weren’t aware Cyclops and Jean had another kid from the future? That’s Rachel Summers (or sometimes Grey), aka Phoenix, their original kid from the future, who was a mainstay of Claremont’s 70s X-Men comics (first appearing around the time of Days of Future Past), 80s and 90s Excalibur, and many major X-Men teams since. Not trying to belittle you or come across elitist, but I’m pretty baffled that you could have read almost any other X-Men comics without being familiar with her. Aren’t the 70s and 80s the era you’re most familiar with, from omnibuses? Her character predates Cable by 15 or so years.
Jubilee’s kid, Shogo, is adopted (or, more accurately, “claimed” or “kidnapped”, depending on how charitable you want to be). He’s not biologically related to her. And, no, these comics haven’t been for kids since the 90s. Very few kids read comics these days, at least not super hero ones, and they’re now written by people who grew up reading them as kids, for people who grew up reading them as kids, very much an adult medium. |
Any new Marvel Legends reveals coming?

Prestige is her current alias, it is the same Rachel Summers from DOFP, so she is Cables alternate universe half-sister
|
Friendly reminder not to buy markdown Black Friday Legends from Amazon. Is that 9.99 Frogman REALLY worth making someone on the shipping line have to piss in a Gatorade bottle?
|
Yeah, Prestige is the same Rachel Summers we’ve always had, just by a new code name. She and Cable are alternate universe three-quarter siblings (half siblings where one of the differing parents is a clone of the other). There’s a Summers family tree image from a recent issue of X-Men Legends that’s worth looking up, just for the sheer stupidity of it.

You would think that at least the Wolverine 5 pack would go on sale. Quote:

Anyone in the Chicago area see the Target Exclusive Captain Carter yet?

AoA Wave2 finally complete... bring on Wave3
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2b46a80f_k.jpg20211124_183759-picsay by lowanbing, on Flickr |
Came across a bunch of Hasbro Fortnite figures- the Chaos Agent was the only one that really jumped out at me- so I grabbed a few to hench for Arcade or whoever. that have oddly thin appendages to give them a weird comic/cartoon style which I actually really dig-

^ That first pic is wonderful... makes me want to go out and buy all the AoA stuff.

Storm QuickSilver Gambit Bishop Holocaust for the Oversized figure If it was an actual wave of 7 with Holocaust as the BAF I would add: Havok Nightcrawler Angel (because I really want to build a group of the Original 5 in their AoA counterparts) Exodus and Dazzler would be great too so we could have the Astonishing AND the Amazing teams... but by then I'm going to want the Gen Next kids and the Externals and... lol... |
I’d go with:
Amazon Cannonball Forge Havok Mystique Nightcrawler Storm BAF: Holocaust |

As much as I like the AoA when it comes to toys on the shelf I think Holocaust, Abyss, and Sinister are the only ones left that I'd actually look at getting.
|
Wolverine pack is on sale for $83.
|
AOA Wave 3 should be:
Storm Quicksilver Bishop Sinister Gambit Exodus BAF: Holocaust/Genocide/Nemesis OR Storm Quicksilver Gambit Exodus Sinister Bishop BAF: Abyss Oversized fig: Holocaust/Genocide/Nemesis |
I was at Target and an employee opened up two fresh AoA cases. One box was eight Rogues and the other was eight Cyclopses. WTF Hasbro? Like seriously?
