Ah, hadn't read that far. Makes sense.

It happened in one of the side issues iirc.
It threw me for a loop too since I'm only following the main AvX with freebies, and a few side comics. None of which were the one that happened in.

Interesting... so we are going to be getting X-Force Wolverine and Archangel as regular releases, and only Psylocke looks to be the only exclusive to the SDCC. I think I'll just wait for the regular releases next year. I'm not that crazy about the body that they use for Psylocke anyway.

I can't wait to see the new female body that they are making for Moonstone, and I hope Ms Marvel will be the variant for Moonstone.

Iceman 07-14-2012 09:49 PM

But I imagine the X-Force AA will be hard to come by.

soundwavempl 07-14-2012 11:01 PM

Thank you for bringing up MU stands! I bought lot of the Star Wars stands when HTS had them available and I love them!

Please forgive me but I must shout:

HASBRO PLEASE MAKE MU (AND GI JOE) FIGURE STANDS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE ON HTS LIKE YOU DID FOR THE STAR WARS FIGURE STANDS!!!

Thanks!

ChuckSass 07-14-2012 11:48 PM

Jean grey, moonstar and moonstone!?!?!! Amazing!

After seeing the variant-to-standard ratio of the last two ML waves, I'd say regular Archangel will be the hard one to find.

If they do it like the last wave but maybe that was a foul up. Either way all I need it X-Force Deadpool and I will be done with legends unless and more X-Force show up.

Spoiler:
They've already gone back to, well sort of at least, normal colossus during AvX when he was fighting Red Hulk. Piotr gave up the Juggernaut power when he and Red Hulk almost destroyed Utopia while fighting, but before Piotr became one of the Phoenix 5. I had to look into that too to see why they haven't bothered to cover Cyttorak and the phoenix force combined. They wrote a way out of that it seems to not even touch it.

He didn't give up the power, he just suppressed the extreme side of it.

Since you're only following the main I'll fill you in, because your spoiler is inaccurate as of now.

Spoiler: Colossus did not and cannot give up the Juggernaut power. The demon Cyttorak needs to take it from him just like he took it from Cain Marko in Fear itself.

Colossus has tried to plead with Cyttorak recently that since he now has the Phoenix power Cyttorak should remove his Juggernaut power like he did to Marko when he took on the Serpent's power. Unfortunately, to Colossus' surprise, Cyttorak refused. Cyttorak stated that Colossus has become his favorite avatar of Chaos in thousands of years because his constant battles have brought Cyttorak more offerings than Marko ever managed to. Colossus threatened to use his new Phoenix power to fight him, to which Cyttorak said to the effect of "Bitch Please, you're on my turf" and just cast him out of his demon realm.

So far, seems like this change is permanent.

someone needs to bring up distribution.

Someone did, we got THREE different answers.

Day before the panel, Dwight Stall told me there was a problem where the MU had run out of UPC numbers, and started to go to a different prefix. The retailers figured they could delete the old ones when they got the new ones, but Hasbro caught that error before stuff went out. Then they had to go through all of the communication related to that issue and basically start from scratch.

Then, during the panel, Adam Biehl said that the "sell-through" wasn't as good as it typically was for MU, and they were surprised that the first wave was still peg warming.

Then, fellow Arker Trainwreck got ANOTHER story: "that they shipped too much Early Series 4 stuff before the Avengers movie and the movie toys and Legends had MU peg warming as many collectors went to those other lines."

So what I gather is that a combination of reasons fucked up MU distribution this year. First wave went out, and sold well, and then while Avengers and RoML started coming out, MU distribution started to have some problems with the UPCs. So wave 1 revisions came out and began filling pegs while collectors 'focused on' ML and Avengers. By the time they were ready for wave 2, it was royally behind.

At least, that's my best amalgam of the answers. The other possibility is that they just plain screwed up the distribution timing, and couldn't get their story straight.

Stryfe will be remade with the newer Hyperion/Sentry body. It's cheaper and will look better, since they'll probably never make him again.

He'll still come out, they just have to figure out where. They put the Super Carrier out instead to ride the Avengers movie hype wave. Possibly next year.

(I'd suggest a Gigantic Battles BAF, lol)

Bzzzt. Looks bright from every PR standpoint. Every Marvel Hasbro person said they have plenty of MU to last through ALL of '13.

That's a good guess, no one asked about it this year.

And What do we get? WHAT DO WE GET!? 4 SLIDES!!! 4 Slides and not even a real down to earth Public Answer and Apology about what happened!! while ML gets a ton of information and characters we've yet to see.

I said it months ago. I feel Like I'm being punished. Punished for pouring my heart, soul, time, and energy into a collection and a product I love.

To be fair, they did apologize. The first thing they all talked about on an individual basis was correcting the distribution problems. Seems like every Hasbro person both felt terrible and guilty about it.

You got it! More Ultimate Spider-Man product coming next year!

That's what makes me think the Uncanny X-Men team pack was such a safe bet.

There's apparently a lot to be revealed, they just are 'throttling back' on reveals to only let stuff out a couple months in advance. Vonner used to tell us way more than he probably should have way too far in advance.

We'll push the Legends, movie lines, or and amimated lines but the {as they put it} highly successful MU line is getting hardly anything new? Oh wait why should they make any new MU for the next year when they already have a year's worth sitting in a warehouse somewhere because they DROPPED the ball on distribution. You know I usually don't get on here and rant and rave but dang it this line is something I've waited on for decades. It's seen me through some rough times in recent years and I've seen myself actually count pennies{no lie} to be able to get a MU figure. So I really hope this isn't a look into the immediate future. I know all toy lines end but MU still has alot of legs IMO. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox, it's just really upsetting to look SO forward to the reveals and then this. And of course the fact that there is still no product out there unless you got the evilbay route and pay over retail. I love this line with all my collecting/toy heart and it's just a shame. First they're gonna take my Avengers cartoon and now my toyline is on life support.

The eBay thing is shitty. Jesse Falcon actually suggested that I just 'get on eBay and buy it' in regards to a colored Vision! His answers were really ass-holeish. He probably didn't mean it to be, but he's obviously tired of dealing with crazy action figure fans. Dwight Stall was genuinely interested and shared our concerns, even when he was wiped and ready to go home.

Hoping there's more at NYCC.

Yea, it was a little bit of a let-down, and the people who actually made it to the panel were crazier than most, in my experience.

It felt a bit embarrassing when the crowd wasn't nice enough to humor the Hasbro reps about their side projects, or get too excited about the little news we got.

That being said, Hasbro should have skipped talking about Bonka-Zonks and avoided talking about Ultimate Spider-Man's show. They could have breezed over that kid-stuff and everyone would have let it go.

I really don't see any difference between Juggernaut and the figure they showed. Seriously. It looks exactly the same.

Someone in the Marvel AvX panel specifically asked why Colossus was all over the place. He's Juggernaut, he's not. He's bald, he's not. He's Phoenix 5, he's not.

They said he'll be dealing with these choices in the near future. Mostly in the AvX story, but some during the fallout afterwards.

I just think they have too many writers/artists working with the character at the same time. No one can keep it all straight in a linear continuity.

According to Dwight, there's two X-Force teams, the one before Uncanny, and the one after Uncanny. The differences between the grey and the silver details on the costumes are intentional to try to fill out those teams.

He was pretty frustrated that they can't get figures out fast enough to finish a current team.

Yeah, so far the only differences I see regarding wolverine is that the ears are longer on the single carded figure and the silver paint instead of grey. If they don't make the claws removable like the 3-pack version that would be a huge letdown.

As for Archangel nothing looks changed...unless they end up releasing him without the chromed wings.

Sweet, then whoever does his wiki pages (all of em, marvel included!) need to update that better. They made it sound like he gave it up to stop from destroying utopia.

Good. Then hopefully they'll cover how those powers could intermingle. The prospect of an artist/painter becoming an unstoppable juggernaut of death and rebirth is an interesting concept if handled right. Same to how Limbo might react to Magick having the Phoenix power might be interesting considering the properties of that magic dimension.

lol, can you blame who ever made the half assed update? They probably just hate this event and could really care less about all these status quo changes that will probably change again in the aftermath of AvX.

Pretty much.
Plus how often marvel says "Oh you can read the main series and know what's going, the rest is just extra stuff."

Yet you'll get lost like no tomorrow if you even dared tried to do that. As what's happening with me and others. xD

Seriously, can we have one event that's even moderately easy to follow? The last decent self-contained event they did was the Thanos Imperitive imho. And that's because you could figure out what's going on by just reading it and the Nova prelude.
