Real quick - never read about Miles Morales being the new Spidey in the Ultimate comics. I know Peter died in that line or something, and that Miles' costume looks bad ass. But, what are his powers in the comic? Normal Spidey powers or what? How'd he get powers? How'd he decide to be the new Spidey etc etc. Can someone give me a brief run-down of him without me having to read a whole article on a wiki? Thanks in advance.

A stolen spider meant to recreate Spidey's powers ended up biting him after that someone brought it into Miles' house. He tried being the actual Spidey but people thought it was disrespectful wearing the costume after he died. I think Shield gave him his Spidey suit and his powers so far are invisibilty, a paralyzing spider-sting that's fired off like an electrical shot. The same shot can be conducted with certain things connected to the victim, like when he shocked 616's Spider Web and caused paralysis like that. Other than that, he has the spidey strength, clinging and stamina. No webs though, he hasn't made any web shooters or anything. I imagine he will cuz he just met 616 Peter, but I have no idea how he's getting around town. Probably jumpin' all over the place.

This is all true, although quick update: Miles has webshooters now as of issue #14! Aunt May brought him Peter's web shooters in a shoe box with only a few cartridges and the formula. She said if he's really going to be the next Spider-man, Peter would have wanted him to have his web shooter's (I think the events of Spider-Men also influenced her decision when she met 616 Peter who was all grown up).

This was also in defiance of Captain America who had just finished forbidding Miles from being Spider-Man or he would have him arrested. Miles saves Cap's ass from Rhino on a rampage and Cap decides he'll make sure he succeeds in training Miles where he failed with Peter and got him killed; actually Cap says be can be spidey but he needs training and Miles says "are you going to train me?" Cap stares blankly.

The interesting thing about Miles inheriting the web shooters is that he responds with, "Peter MADE these?! He MADE these?! He was like a genius. Man, now I really need to hunker down and study." Since he's even younger than Parker was and too young to hold a job being 13 he has no cash flow other than a basic allowance. He has to be even more creative and selective with how he uses the webs from here on out even if he does learn to create more fluid.

This book just keeps getting better for me.

I'm assuming you got your answer by now, but it's the one from the current Spidey 6" line that's in stores now (it's $11).

Hobby's always been my favorite Goblin, tied of course with Demogoblin.

I'd have to agree. Hobgoblin just seems more sinister and less cartoon-ish than Green Goblin to me. I don't know if I'd put Demogoblin above Norman, though.

So he's Spidey without the webs + he's got powers from Invisible Woman and Spider-Woman? Weird, yet interesting.

One more question... How did Peter die in Ultimate universe? I've never read any of the Ultimate universe comics, and I don't really know if I want to get started now because I'd have to hunt down all the issues - I'm a completionist when it comes to comic lines... Maybe there s TPB for Ultimate Spidey or something.

I'm not mod, but I think a bit of common sense goes a long way.

There's a rules section that explains clearly, but for the most part if you take a look at the title of forums you participate in its not difficult to figure out what belongs and what doesn't. There are specific forums to post toys and these threads in this forum deal specifically with things associated with the actual comic book stories or media related to those stories.

It just serves to ensure threads don't get hijacked and off topic.


However, to answer your question about ultimate spidey (Parker) he was killed by the Green Goblin from a gun shot meant for Captain America. There is a TPB for it that I would definitely recommend, it was a great story.
