Yeah, it's odd. But a lot of times, licensors provide the assets that must be used in package creation.

Can't wait to get my hands on this. I own SHM ver too, which I like how it looks, but if compare neca one with bandai. I'm 70% on neca. SHM kinda fragile, light and the detail really does not reflect with that 'satanic' price point. Should have been much cheaper if they really lazy on detailing the details on the fig.

I'm on the fence, I missed the normal SHF release, but got the web exclusive one on preorder. I'll see if I see it in store, don't feel like paying almost $30 with shipping.

I have it on order, just cause I've gotten all of the other NECA ones. While I actually liked the movie, I'm still not a huge fan of the design. Out of all of them, I'd much prefer the final form with the split jaw and all the purple effects (that scene actually had me gasp when watching it).

Yeah I definitely agree, I don't love the design, but the movie made me. And that 4th form scene made me preorder the SHF version of that.

I was also impressed with that first scene when he showed how his atomic fire breath worked, I think it got silly when he SPOILER ALERT started going all out laser show with his back later END SPOILER but the imagery of Godzilla "bombing" Japan really revived the original nuclear metaphor.

Looking good. Despite the tail kinda small and bit shorter. Just some dash of clear matte finish to the fig for real effect of movie accuracy. Other else is awesome.

Looking at photos, the cons seem to be the head's length, the tail's shortness, and his hunched-over posture out of the box.

That said, I saw a review on it from Ultrazilla, and at the beginning of that, he has the head pointed down, and it actually looks a lot more accurate. As for the posture, I'll see if I can pose him to stand more upright.

The tail seem to be short because if it was longer, it wouldn't fit in the box. A shame, sure, but an understandable one.

Ultimately, with this figure costing $60 (BBTS retail with postage), and the SHMA one costing $346 (lowest price I could find on ebay, free postage), I'm definitely glad I'm picking up the NECA.
