AGREEED...he was borderline a lil dick at times in this one. I def preferred his original personality.

that's exactly what i said when i saw this.
I honestly wonder does someone in that company have a problem sculpting features of African Americans. I say this because I owned and/or saw LOTS of the NBA or NFL figures and i thought they missed the mark a LOT of times on the accuracy on the face sculpts.
i have to take another look at my walking dead figures..i don't recall any of them looking off..so maybe they weren't. or is it because the 7in scale shows more (or less) of the accuracy of the sculpt. hmmm

Not creating excuses for the change in the character of Dustin, but look at it like this. He was the way he was in the first season because he had a legitimate reason to feel like an outcast and was picked on in a few episodes due to his lack of front teeth. Now that he has teeth his demeanor has changed because in his eyes the only reason he was an outcast and/or not liked by girls was his lack of teeth so now he has all of this unjustified confidence which (SPOILER ALERT) didn't work out the way he had hoped.

Dustin was more of a focus in season 2 because of his popularity in season 1, unfortunately focusing on him did make it seem like a personality shift a bit, but I was never bothered by it.

I personally love the weird triangle of Steve, Jonathon, and Nancy. The show keeps pushing Jonathan and Nancy together, but I really like the way that they have never given us a reason to hate Steve.

And Back on topic the Lucas figure looks like a young Whoopie Goldberg...

Augustus_Cole 11-13-2017 01:06 PM

so Dubs you sayin a muhfukka get some new teefusues and then he gotta act brand new?!?!....lol
maybe you have a point there.

K Dubious 11-13-2017 02:38 PM

His damn purr/growl made me cringe and the fool does it 10 times in season 2...

SPOILERS I think it's great how they introduced Steve like he was the "oh this dick is gonna die" character but they actually flipped that and grew him out into an understanding person. If anything they've given us more reasons to like Steve over season 2, now he's the underdog.

The 7" and 10" Michonne are spot on. I agree they need to tweak this sculpt, though.

I'm wondering how far Mcfarlane will take this line. I'm hoping at the very least that they'll cover all of the main children, but I gotta admit I kinda want a frantic Joyce action figure w/ the ball of lights, an ax, and a couple packs of smokes.:p

I have never scene a tv character with such a dramatic 180 degree turnaround in their character arc before... he went from being almost a totally cliche throwaway character to almost being the MVP of the 2nd season.

I've kinda had a crush on Winona Ryder since like forever... so yes to a Joyce figure. The new characters though... Max and wannabe Robb Lowe... I have no interest in getting any kind of figures of them.

Jaime Lanister

I feel like his character is one that was so easy to hate, but those line have been blurred

MeLikeJinx 11-14-2017 10:40 AM

^ Oh wow... that is a pretty good one (although I consider him irredeemable unless he shows remorse for what he did to Bran, which I don't think he ever has). But I've never really seen the show before (aside from clips on youtube)... only read the books, so for me he is a book character. So for me it feels like it took months/years for his character to slowly evole while Steve's turnaround happens in like... 30 mins. LOL. My other choice would have been Spike from Buffy. LOL.

K Dubious 11-14-2017 11:17 AM

I don't read so if it ain't on a movie or TV show I would never know these characters existed. That being said I knew he was more of a book character with literally chapters of character development, but the show has really shown many of his good qualities. I also agree that his most irredeemable act was what he did to Bran.

I just had to bring him up because your original comment about Steve was said nearly verbatim, by a friend of mine about Jaime.

Steve's turnaround happened over multiple episodes, hardly 30 minutes. It wasn't linear either, he improved, he regressed, he worked through that and kept improving.

MeLikeJinx 11-14-2017 09:45 PM

^ Kay... went back and checked... episode 6 about 30 mins in... Nancy sees the bads words about her on the Marquee that Steve wrote. Next episode... episode 7... about 18 mins in Steve asks the theater manager if he can help clean it up. That's around 30 mins IMO.

That was where he regressed. The 30 minutes is not his redemption arc in total, it's literally just the part where he almost fails. Go back to earlier episodes and he alternates between being an arse and being a decent person, over the course of the season he starts moving towards decent, in episode 7 he gets upset and acts worse than he ever had before, then feels guilty and makes amends. The next episode he goes to Nancy to show her, the person he hurt, he was sorry.

These are at Target stores, found them at multiple locations and was very disappointed. The face paint is abysmal, they appear to have used something similar to Hasbro’s new “face printing” technology, with terrible results. Eleven is particularly bad, I settled for the best I could find over the course of a week and four Target stores. I found a decent Hopper at the third store (and the final release does not include the second head without the hat). Very disappointing. Hopefully they improve for the next series, but they’ve already spoiled my two favorite characters.

Yep, terrible but I still bought it. Damn it. Eleven's leg articulation is horrible. I want to keep the knees straight so you don't see the ugly joints but the thighs don't move and it is McFarlane so you don't want to try too much or it will just snap off. I really wish NECA had gone in for the license. Looking at the Valerian figure side by side with Eleven, NECA actually painted the figure and it is a damn fine likeness. Mcfarlane started using the print tech with some of the Walking dead figures, you could see it a lot in the blood spatter from the second series going forward. It would be a great template but not finished product. I usually end up painting them but why am I doing all the work for a $20 figure?

i want to choke Toddy-Boy at times.

Bo Ttef 03-07-2018 11:50 AM

I bought Eleven and Hopper just to use as extras with my NECA figures (Predators/Aliens/EvilDead etc) and they are pretty awful. I'll pass on the rest of the kids but will definitely be getting the Demogorgon!

In a world of Barbs... be a Nancy.

Really though, it's pretty amazing that her figure exists. I wonder if it will be an actual visual approximation of the actress? I am, how you say ... less than optimistic.

D'artagnan looks pretty neat, though!

deecee4 05-07-2018 08:33 AM

Love the trapper keeper accessory.

Joe Moore 05-07-2018 09:18 AM

At some point, there's not going to be a lot to do with this line. People are really only going to tolerate so many versions of the main kids. It'll be down to the tertiary characters to keep the license rolling until they can see what each new season brings.

With that in mind, there are minor characters I would enjoy seeing. Bob (Dracula costume preferred) and Dr. Owens as figures.

As an aside, I just finished a shoot of the 1st two waves of these guys, and it should be live tomorrow.

Wild that this is the first ST figure news from McFarlane since 2018. Maybe we'll finally get a Steve Harrington!!
